A network media device is described that pulls multimedia data from one or more sources (e.g., a multimedia website or a multimedia server computer) at a first time, stores it to long-term storage within the device and transmits the stored multimedia data to one or more designated multimedia playback devices at a second time.

NETWORK ARRANGEMENT AND ADDRESSING OF NETWORK COMPONENTS FOR A CHARGING PARK

A network arrangement is provided for a charging park for providing IP services to the charging park. The charging park has a plurality of components. The network arrangement comprises a core network, a backend server and a central gateway that is coupled to the core network and to the backend server. The central gateway provides an interface for one or more communication nodes of the core network. The components of the charging park are connected communicatively to one another and to the central gateway via the core network. Each component of the charging park has an associated communication node of the core network, and the components of the charging park can interchange data with the backend server via the central gateway via their respective associated communication nodes and the interfaces associated with the communication nodes. Further, the invention relates to a method for addressing components of the charging park.

A method including receiving at a buffer at least a portion of an incoming frame, holding in the buffer the at least a portion of the frame received at the buffer, keeping in the buffer the at least a portion of the frame held in the buffer after transmission of the incoming frame by transmission circuitry responsive to receiving a signal at the buffer indicating that the at least a portion of a frame held in the buffer should be kept, and clearing from the buffer the at least a portion of a frame held in the buffer responsive to receiving a signal to the buffer indicating that the at least a portion of the frame held in the buffer should be cleared. Related methods and apparatus are also described.

Trunk management in simulated Fibre channel trunking system environment

In a Fibre channel (FC) networking system, a first FC networking device includes a first Ethernet switch processor and a first FC PHY converter that is communicatively coupled to the first Ethernet switch processor via a first plurality of Ethernet links, where the first plurality of Ethernet links is grouped as a first Ethernet aggregation interface. A second FC networking device is communicatively coupled to the first FC networking device via a plurality of FC links, where each Ethernet link of the first plurality of Ethernet links is mapped to a corresponding FC link of the plurality of FC links. The first FC networking device is configured to: generate only one FLOGI for a FC trunk associated with the first Ethernet aggregation interface; and hash the FLOGI among the first plurality of Ethernet links so as to the second FC networking device via the first Ethernet aggregation interface.

Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for stage upgrades in a network. The system generates graph-data structured based representations of devices in the network, wherein respective attributes of the representations is selected based on respective services provided by the devices to tenants in the network and identities of respective tenants serviced by the devices. Next, the system generates a graph showing a distribution of the devices in the network according to the representations, wherein the representations are interconnected in the graph based on service roles of associated devices with respect to tenants in the network and other devices associated with the tenants. The system then schedules an upgrade of devices based on the graph, the upgrade being scheduled in stages, each stage including devices selected for upgrade in that stage, wherein the devices for each stage are selected by identifying devices having respective representations assigned to that specific stage.

Network switch with interconnected member nodes

According to examples, a network switch may include plurality of member nodes interconnected by member links to exchange data plane traffic. The network switch may also include a commander node to run control and management plane protocols for the plurality of member nodes. A first member node of the plurality of member nodes that receives a packet incoming into the network switch calculates a forwarding path for the packet to a destination through a second member node of the plurality of member nodes and forwards the packet to the second member node, and the second member node forwards the packet according to the forwarding path calculated by the first member node without calculating another forwarding path for the packet.
