The various implementations described herein include methods, systems, and devices for Augmented Reality (AR) based messaging. In one aspect, a method includes processing a user request to create and place an avatar (e.g., a virtual representation of a user) at a user-specified location. In another aspect, a system manages placement of avatars at various geo locations, allows users to interact with avatars, and manages avatar-avatar interactions with or without user controls. In yet another aspect, a device is provided allowing a user to create, manage, and view avatar-based tags. Additionally, various user interfaces are provided to support the user to create, manage, and view avatars.

The user request response method comprises: upon the reception of a user request sent from a first-type terminal, sending reminder messages to a plurality of second-type terminals according to the user request; receiving message receipts for the reminder messages within a preset time period; selecting a target message receipt from among the message receipts according to a preset rule; and using the second-type terminal corresponding to the target message receipt as a target second-type terminal and determining to respond to the user request according to the target second-type terminal.

A natural-language voice chatbot engages a consumer in a voice dialogue. The chatbot is customized for engaging the specific consumer based on features and characteristics of that specific consumer’s speech and a lexicon associated with terms, words, and commands for item ordering. The consumer can perform voice queries for specific items and/or specific establishments for placing a pre-staged order with the chatbot. Once the consumer selects options with a specific establishment, a pre-staged order is provided to the corresponding establishment on behalf of the user. Location data for a consumer-operated device is monitored and when it is determined that the consumer will arrive at the establishment within a time period required by the establishment to prepare the pre-staged order, a message is sent to the establishment to begin preparing the pre-staged order.
