An avatar notification system is disclosed, which performs operations that include: causing display of a notification at a client device associated with a first user account, the notification including an identification of a second user account; receiving an input that selects the notification from the client device; presenting a composition interface at the client device in response to the input that selects the notification, the composition interface including a display of a media element that comprises a first identifier associated with the first user account and a second identifier associated with the second user account; receiving a selection of the media element from the client device; and generating a message that includes the media element in response to the selection.

Systems and methods to combine related messages are disclosed. Multiple messages may be combined into a single message for display and output on one or more devices based on one or more factors. The factors may include, for example, a determination that the multiple messages were sent by and/or received from the same device, user, user profile, and/or user account. The facts may also include a determination that the multiple messages were sent within a threshold amount of time of each other and/or that the messages have the same or similar themes.

In one aspect, a method includes actions of receiving input on a user device that includes message content, determining, on the user device, whether the message content includes offensive content, and in response to determining, on the user device, that the message content includes offensive content, generating an alert message for display on the user device that provides an indication that the message includes offensive content.

Generally discussed herein are devices, systems, and methods for task classification. A method can include modifying a representation of a source sentence of a source sample from a source corpus to more closely resemble a representation of target sentences of target samples from a target corpus, operating, using a machine learning model trained using the modified representation of the source sentence, with the target sample to generate a task label, the task label indicating whether the target sample includes a task, and causing a personal information manager (PIM) to generate a reminder, based on whether the target sample includes the task.

Generally discussed herein are devices, systems, and methods for task classification. The Reminder Engine detects a selection, by a first user account, of one or more reminder attributes for a message received in an online chat session. The Reminder Engine generates a reminder object for the message according to the one or more selected reminder attributes. The Reminder Engine receives a reminder notification based on expiration of a duration attribute associated with the reminder object.

A system that generates animated visual cues for providing previews that indicate the availability of associated content is provided. The system can display a landing page in response to a command to display selected content, such as messages of a chat session. The landing page generates a visual cue that displays an animated preview of associated content, such as files related to the chat session, concurrently with the selected content before transitioning to view that shows the selected content, such as a chat session UI. The disclosed techniques also enable systems to generate a visual bounce cue providing awareness of salient content. For example, a device displaying selected content, e.g., messages in a chat session UI, may create a controlled animated movement of the chat session UI to let a user know of an update to associated content that may be displayed in a UI layer under the selected content.
