Support services for virtual data centers
Various example implementations are directed to circuits, apparatuses, and methods for providing virtual computing services. According to an example embodiment, an apparatus includes a data storage device and a set of computing servers communicatively coupled to the data storage device. The set of computer servers are configured to provide a respective virtual data center for each of a plurality of accounts. The respective virtual data center for each account is configured to provide virtual services specified in a respective settings file for the account stored in the data storage device. The virtual data center for at least one of the accounts includes a set of virtual desktops and a set virtual data-communications servers providing data communications services which may include Voice-over-IP (VoIP) services, and support services for each account as specified in the settings file for the account.
Synchronizing Metadata A Cloud-Based Storage System
Symmetric storage using a cloud-based storage system, including: receiving, at a cloud-based storage system among storage systems synchronously replicating a dataset, an I/O operation directed to the dataset; determining, in dependence upon the I/O operation, a metadata update describing a mapping of segments of content to an address within a storage object, wherein the storage object includes the dataset; and synchronizing metadata on another storage system of the storage systems by sending the metadata update from the cloud-based storage system to the other storage system to update a metadata representation on the second storage system in accordance with the metadata update.
System and process for displaying media content files in an unblockable manner
There is provided a system and process of delivering online media content files to websites which are not capable of being blocked. The system and process provides a publisher with a sub-domain name that is pointed to an IP provided by an ad server and ask publisher to update his DNS records. Concurrently, the system delivers the user a script on the newly suggested sub domain that publisher inserts in HEAD tag of web pages where it is determined that the unblockable ads are to be displayed.
2 level routing in CCN
Exemplary methods at a content centric networking (CCN) gateway located at an autonomous system (AS), wherein the CCN gateway is communicatively coupled to a CCN domain name system (DNS) server, include receiving, on a first face, a first interest message comprising of a first content name identifying a first content being requested by the first interest message. The methods include in response to determining the first content is not located at the AS, determining a first remote AS name that identifies a first remote AS where the first content is located, generating a first 2-level (2L) content name comprising of the first remote AS name and the first content name, forwarding the first interest message comprising of the first 2L content name, and in response to receiving a first content object (CO) message comprising of the first 2L content name and the first content, forwarding the first content.
Routing application calls
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for routing communication to applications. In an embodiment, first application can transmit a connection to a second application without knowing the exact route address of the second application. An agent can intercept the connection from a first application intended for a second application. The agent can identify the route address for the second application, determine the protocol the connection was intended to be transmitted, and forward the connection based on the route address and protocol to the second application.
System and method for directing clients to optimal servers in computer networks
A communication protocol includes one or more messages passed between Web routers over a reliable transmission protocol used for inter-Web router communication. These messages include information that allows the Web routers to dynamically update mappings of client addresses or address ranges to information object repository addresses based on client-to-server distance and server load. The mappings are preferably optimal mappings of the client addresses or address ranges to the information object repository addresses and the messages report updated distances from these information object repository addresses to the client addresses or address ranges. For example, the messages may report, for each updated distance, an associated client address or address range and/or an associated anchor address of a Web router co-located with an information object repository that is the subject of the message.
Directory Assisted Routing of Content in an Information Centric Network
A method is disclosed. The method includes: obtaining, by an authoritative directory router in an information centric network (ICN), a publish message associated with a publisher node and including: an identifier associated with a content item; and a first anchor prefix for a first anchor directory router for the publisher node; determining that a bidirectional code for the identifier falls within an authoritative code range assigned to the authoritative directory router; and updating, in response to the bidirectional code falling within the authoritative code range, a local code repository associated with the authoritative directory router with the first anchor prefix and the identifier.
System and method related to domain name tracking and transfer
What is described is a system and method providing an improved customer experience for the Registrant. The Registrant is able to use a single interface to monitor multiple domain names as well as to transfer its domain names between Registrars. The single interaction with the single interface works out just as well and just as conveniently regardless of whether at the time a Registrant commences use of the system, a single Registrar happens to be handling all of the domain names, or whether each domain name is handled by a different Registrar.
System and method for all-in-one content stream in content-centric networks
One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for assembling a single content stream that enables downloading of a content collection using the single content stream over a network. During operation, the system obtains the content collection that includes a plurality of content components, and generates a manifest for the content collection. A respective entry in the manifest corresponds to a content component. The system assembles the single content stream by including the manifest followed by the plurality of content components. The manifest and the content components are packaged into objects under a same namespace, thereby facilitating a requester requesting one or more content components within the content collection using interests under the same namespace.
MAPPING BETWEEN CLASSICAL URLs AND ICN NETWORKS
A method for routing a request for content from a content provider through an IPv6 network is described, the IPv6 network being an information centric network (ICN) in which content is directly addressed using at least a portion of an IPv6 address. The method includes receiving, at an IPv6 network, a request for content, determining that the request does not comprise an ICN address. The method further includes intercepting the request, and translating the request into an IPv6 address in which at least a portion of the address is directed to or associated with the piece of content. Systems and methods described herein address problems arising from the interaction between IP and ICN networking models.
