A database stores unique associations between account identifiers and mobile-network telephone numbers assigned by a mobile network to mobile communications devices. The account identifiers are also associated with voice-over-IP (VoIP) telephone numbers. Voice calls between the mobile communications devices are made as voice-over-IP (VoIP) calls using respective VoIP telephone numbers. Tracking of the VoIP calls is performed through the mobile network using respective mobile-network telephone numbers, so that a prepaid balance can be enforced.

Various example embodiments for supporting generation of addresses for network entities in communication systems are presented. Various example embodiments for supporting generation of addresses for network entities may be configured to support generation of a new address for a network entity based on an existing address of the network entity. Various example embodiments for supporting generation of addresses for network entities may be configured to support generation of a new address for a network entity based on manipulation of at least a portion of an existing address of the network entity. Various example embodiments for supporting generation of addresses for network entities may be configured to support generation of a transport layer address (e.g., an Internet Protocol (IP) address or the like) for a network entity based on a data link layer address (e.g., a Media Access Control (MAC) address or the like) of the network entity.

Systems and methods to activate the processing of an allocated resource in operations with a processing system by the use of a round trip communication of the identifier of the resource, in which the resource identifier is communicated from a portal of the processing system to a first website, which passes the resource identifier to a second website during forwarding or redirecting a web browser from the first website to the second website, where the second website provides the resource identifier back to the processing system in communications with the processing system for operations required for the activation of the resource. Upon activation, the resource is processed during a communication session between the first website and the portal (or the processing system).

An identification service may provide a device identifier that is available in both browser and non-browser applications on an electronic device. The identification service may include a domain name system server that handles domain name system queries for certain HTTP requests originating from the browser and non-browser applications. An HTTP request in the non-browser application may result in the domain name system server embedding the device identifier into an IPv6 address that is then stored in a local domain name system cache on the device. An HTTP request in the browser application may cause the browser to connect to the IPv6 address stored in the local domain name system cache. The identification service may have an HTTP server bound to the IPv6 address. The HTTP server may extract the device identifier from the IPv6 address and may provide the device identifier to the browser application.

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for routing communication to applications. In an embodiment, first application can transmit a connection to a second application without knowing the exact route address of the second application. An agent can intercept the connection from a first application intended for a second application. The agent can identify the route address for the second application, determine the protocol the connection was intended to be transmitted, and forward the connection based on the route address and protocol to the second application.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, providing a request associated with a call session to a server, wherein the request includes capability information associated with user equipment. A codec is identified according to the capability information to obtain an identified codec, which facilitates media service to the user equipment. The media service is accessed from a media resource function, which in turn, is accessed by the server responsive to the identified codec. An operable resource identifier is identified responsive to a search of a codec table, wherein the server accesses the operable resource identifier associated with the media resource function from a domain name server responsive to the resource identifier not being available at the codec table. An ENUM/DNS system with enhanced processing efficiency is provided. Provided is an ENUM/DNS system including an ENUM/DNS client that performs a connection destination information query indicating a connection destination associated with a telephone number of a destination terminal added to a connection request transmitted from an originating terminal, and an ENUM/DNS server that receives the connection destination information query and outputting the connection destination as a connection destination information query response. The ENUM/DNS server includes a determination unit configured to determine an attribute of the originating terminal based on the connection destination information query, and a conversion unit configured to convert a SIP domain included in REGEXP of the connection destination information query response to a SIP domain indicating the connection destination based on the attribute.

A method is disclosed. The method includes: obtaining, by an authoritative directory router in an information centric network (ICN), a publish message associated with a publisher node and including: an identifier associated with a content item; and a first anchor prefix for a first anchor directory router for the publisher node; determining that a bidirectional code for the identifier falls within an authoritative code range assigned to the authoritative directory router; and updating, in response to the bidirectional code falling within the authoritative code range, a local code repository associated with the authoritative directory router with the first anchor prefix and the identifier.

Systems and methods may provide for confirming, by a loader module having administrative rights with respect to a computing device, the operability of an activator module on the computing device. Additionally, the activator module may be used to manage an installation status of one or more service agents or software components on the computing device and making them persistent. In one example, confirming the operability of the activator module includes conducting a presence verification and/or authentication of the activator module, wherein a replacement activator module may be downloaded to the computing device if the presence verification and/or authentication is unsuccessful.
