Virtual machine migration in virtualization environment having different virtualization systems
A method and an apparatus for migrating a virtual machine across virtualization systems, and a system, where a first virtualization system in which a source virtual machine is located specifies a temporary address of a destination virtual machine. After a second migration tool of a second virtualization system migrates the to-be-migrated virtual machine to the second virtualization system to generate the destination virtual machine, a first migration tool of the first virtualization system controls a migration agent on the destination virtual machine to modify the address of the destination virtual machine to an address of the source virtual machine such that the address of the virtual machine remains unchanged before and after migration, thereby shortening service interruption duration caused by virtual machine migration.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO GENERATE AUDIENCE MEASUREMENT DATA FROM POPULATION SAMPLE DATA HAVING INCOMPLETE DEMOGRAPHIC CLASSIFICATIONS
Methods and apparatus to generate audience measurement data from population sample data having incomplete demographic classifications are disclosed. An example method includes detecting that a number of impressions a time segment of a video occurred based on messages; detecting that no impressions for the time segment of the video were detected by the database proprietor; determining respective percentages of exposures of the video that are attributable to corresponding ones of multiple demographic groups, determining the respective percentages being based on the first demographic information provided by the database proprietor for exposures of other time segments of the video; attributing respective portions of the number of impressions to the demographic groups based on the respective percentages to determine imputed numbers of impressions; generating adjusted numbers of impressions based on the imputed numbers of impressions; and determining ratings information for the video using the adjusted numbers of impressions.
DIRECTED BROADCAST IN NETWORK FABRIC
This technology enables directed broadcasts in network fabrics. To enable a directed broadcast, a control plane node is configured to resolve directed broadcast addresses by mapping the directed broadcast address to a subnet address associated with the network fabric. A fabric border node receives a directed broadcast, extracts a destination address associated with the directed broadcast, and transmits a request to the control plane node to resolve the destination address. The control plane node retrieves the stored mapping and generates a map reply to the fabric border node with a multicast destination comprising the network fabric subnet address. The fabric border node encapsulates the directed broadcast with a header comprising the multicast destination and forwards the encapsulated directed broadcast to fabric edge nodes, which decapsulate the directed broadcast and deliver a data set from the directed broadcast to appropriate end point devices.
Receiver directed anonymization of identifier flows in identity enabled networks
A method implemented by a receiving host entity comprises transmitting, by a transmitter of the receiving host entity, an anonymized identifier of the receiving host entity, wherein the anonymized identifier is a temporary and recyclable identifier identifying the receiving host entity, and receiving, by a receiver of the receiving host entity, a data packet from a sending host entity, wherein the data packet includes the anonymized identifier.
SOURCE-AWARE TECHNIQUE FOR FACILITATING LISP HOST MOBILITY
A method is provided in one example embodiment and includes detecting by a first network element at a first data center site a local connection of an endpoint identifier (“EID”), in which the EID was previously locally connected to a second network element at a second data center site and notifying a mapping server of the local connection of the EID to the first network element. The method further includes receiving from the mapping server identifying information for the second network element and communicating with the second network element using the identifying information to obtain service information for traffic associated with the EID. The method may also include applying a service identified by the service information to outgoing traffic from the EID as well as applying a service identified by the service information to incoming traffic for the EID.
Reassigning exit internet protocol addresses in a virtual private network server
A method for reassigning exit internet protocol (IP) addresses in a virtual private network (VPN), the method comprising activating a first exit IP address for communicating data associated with a user device having an established VPN connection; deactivating, during the established VPN connection, the first exit IP address based at least in part on determining that an amount of data communication associated with the first exit IP address satisfies a data threshold; and activating, during the established VPN connection, a second exit IP address, different from the first exit IP address, for communicating data associated with the user device based at least in part on deactivating the first exit IP address. Various other aspects are contemplated.
DOMAIN NAME ADDRESS OBTAINING METHOD
A domain name address obtaining method includes: in a case that a first condition is met, performing a related operation of refreshing a domain name address record. The first condition includes at least one of: confirming that an obtained DNS address is changed; occurring a PDU session relocation; confirming that an obtained IP address is changed; a first DNN being no longer available; a second DNN being available; a terminal moving from a first area to a second area; the terminal moving out of the first area; the terminal moving to the second area; a first indication being received; the terminal being handed over; or the terminal being in a connected state. The first area includes at least one of: a serving area of a first local service, a serving area of a non-local service, or an available area of the first DNN.

Each fabric edge node may be enabled to determine if the fabric edge node may be connected to a silent host and, based on that determination, request the fabric border node to be added to the multicast destination to receive the directed broadcast.
