Incendiary capsule

An incendiary capsule 10 has a body 14 forming a single compartment containing a first part 18 of a two part ignition system and a quantity of a pyrotechnic heat source (PHS) 16. The capsule 10 is initiated by injecting, when ready for use, a quantity of a second part of the two part ignition system. The ignition system generates sufficient heat to initiate the PHS 16, which burns at a substantially higher temperature than the ignition system.

TORCH DEVICE HAVING A DETACHABLE ELECTRIC BOOM ARM

A torch device includes an arm operatively coupled to a supply line that is electrically coupled to a power supply and in flow communication with a fuel tank. A distal end of the arm includes a nozzle positioned adjacent to a fuel ignition system. A mount removably couples the arm to the torch device, such that the arm is configured to be used in a first use position that includes the arm removably coupled to the mount and in a second use position that includes the arm removed from the mount. The supply line is secured to a first end of the arm, extends through the arm, and has a length such that the arm can be used in the second use position up to a distance from the fuel tank approximately equivalent to the length of the supply line.

Apparatus for launching incendiary spheres
10151560 · 2018-12-11 ·

An apparatus for launching incendiary spheres for prescribed burning is provided. This apparatus receives charged, or injected, spherical incendiaries, then launches them in a controlled direction at a controlled distance. The charged incendiaries are first emitted from a conventional Plastic Sphere Dispenser (PSD) into the intake of the apparatus whereupon they are moved along a lower pathway by a delivering wheel to a launching point relative to a spinning wheel or a plurality of spinning wheels. These spinning wheels convey velocity to each incendiary sphere, which is thereby launched in a trajectory that is determined by the azimuth of orientation, and the rotational velocity, of the spinning wheels.

Systems and methods for reducing an overpressure caused by a vapor cloud explosion

Systems and methods for reducing an overpressure caused by an explosion of a vapor cloud are provided. In one or more embodiments, the system can include one or more sensors operable to detect the explosion of the vapor cloud. The system can also include one or more igniters operable to ignite the vapor cloud at locations throughout, after the explosion of the vapor cloud is detected, to provide a discrete combustion zone at each location. Each combustion zone can form a discrete pressure wave, thereby reducing the overpressure caused by the explosion of the vapor cloud.

Systems and methods for planting flora and fauna through drone delivery

The present disclosure provides generally for a system and method for planting flora, fauna, and dispersing various organisms through drone delivery. The system may comprise of a drone with seedling box that may hold and drop the pods containing flora or fauna. The seedling box may hold the pods with the flora or fauna in them and at specific intervals drop the pod with the flora or fauna. The seedling box may also hold various organisms or other materials and drop these organisms or materials when directed. A seedling box may comprise loading mechanism and deploying mechanism to facilitate accurate, timely deployment of the pods containing the seedlings. A pod may comprise a weighted tip with hollow cavity for seedling placement and a vertical rod for securing seedling during deployment. Where the system comprises uneven number of seedlings, seedling box may include counterweights to provide stability in configured flight patterns for duration of seedling deployment.
