Fire suppression system
09956445 · 2018-05-01 ·

A fire suppression system for a fire zone including a first tank containing a first liquid component of a two-part foam and a second tank containing a second liquid component of the foam. The system includes at least one liquid component release device configured to be selectively capable of releasing the first and second components from their respective containers upon receipt of a signal from a fire detector upon detection of a fire. The two-part foam components are propelled through the system by a pressurized propellant that, upon release of the release device, causes the exit of the foam components from their respective tanks, through a mixing conduit to at least one nozzle. The nozzle is configured to spray the liquid component foam mixture into the fire zone wherein the foam cures into a substantially semi-rigid, closed cell foam that is substantially impermeable and may have charring and/or intumescence properties.

FOAM ASPIRATION NOZZLE

A foam aspiration nozzle for use with fire extinguishers. The foam aspiration nozzle includes a discharge tube having air inlets that are partially protected by a shield to prevent blockage, the shield having an open end to allow the entry of air. The foam aspiration nozzle also includes a spray flange which is configured with spray orifices that direct a water and foaming agent into the discharge tube where the water and foaming agent is mixed with air from the air inlets. The result of spraying the water and foaming agent such that air is introduced to the mixture is the production of foam which is expelled from the discharge tube for application to a burning substance to extinguish flames emanating from the substance.

COMPRESSED AIR FOAM GENERATING DEVICE THAT CREATES FOAM WITH HIGH FIRE-EXTINGUISHING CAPABILITIES
20250186818 · 2025-06-12 ·

A foam generating device that maximizes the fire extinguishing capabilities of fluorine-free foam solutions. An air bubble injector placed in a central region of a flow of water and surfactant through a pipe forces air forward and rearward out from the center of the air bubble injector in two curtains of air, thereby creating 360 degree vortexes, so all the water with surfactant flowing through the pipe will be suffused with air bubble streams folding into each other at high speed, thereby creating a dense tough bubble foam that retains its drain time when applied to a fire, resulting in faster fire extinguishment, and less exposure of the fire fighter to carcinogens. The foam generating device helps reduce the amount of foam used for fire extinguishment, thereby reducing environmental impact from toxic run-off. The air bubble injector can be made from all stainless steel.

Air mixer for compressed air foam fire-extinguishing system and fire-extinguishing system

The present disclosure provides an air mixer for a compressed air foam (CAF) fire-extinguishing system. A foam concentrate and compressed air are respectively transported by a liquid inlet pipe and an air inlet pipe. When the compressed air and the foam concentrate enter a straight pipe through a first tapered pipe, they reach an outlet end of the first tapered pipe through a path narrowing due to different cross-section diameters at two ends of the first tapered pipe, and there is a compression process. Under an action of a high-pressure airflow, the foam concentrate is fully mixed. The mixed foam concentrate reaches a porous plate of the straight pipe and can be mixed secondarily. When the foam concentrate is discharged by a second tapered pipe, a flow path widens and there is a release process.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A FIREFIGHTING MEDIUM FROM WATER AND LIQUID GAS, A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND A METHOD FOR EXTINGUISHING A FIRE WITH THE FIREFIGHTING MEDIUM

A method for producing a firefighting medium from water (W) and a liquefied gas, such as liquid nitrogen (LN) or liquid carbon dioxide, a fire extinguisher (200) for extinguishing a fire with the produced firefighting medium, and a method for extinguishing a fire with the produced firefighting medium, wherein the firefighting medium (FFM) is produced by spraying a pressurized jet of water (WJ) out of a nozzle (201) at a pressure of, for instance, at least 50 bar and mixing a proportion of liquid nitrogen (LN) into the jet of water (WJ).

FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM FOR A ROOF WITH A SOLAR INSTALLATION
20250295943 · 2025-09-25 ·

The invention concerns a fire extinguishing system for a roof with a solar installation, wherein the fire extinguishing system comprises an extinguishing apparatus with a plurality of groups of extinguishing agent outlets (8, 108) for discharging an extinguishing agent on the roof. Each group of extinguishing agent outlets (8, 108) is respectively assigned to a spatial extinguishing area (22, 23), wherein the extinguishing apparatus is configured such that extinguishing agent is dischargeable by means of extinguishing agent outlets (8) of a group independently of a discharging of the extinguishing agent by means of extinguishing agent outlets (108) of another group, and wherein at least two extinguishing areas (22, 23) overlap. The system furthermore comprises a detection apparatus (11) configured to detect, as a detection location, a location where a fire has occurred or is likely to occur.

FOAM-WATER FIRE SPRINKLER
20250303208 · 2025-10-02 ·

A foam-water fire sprinkler includes a nozzle, a shroud body, an agitator, and a deflector. The nozzle defines a nozzle passage that receives a foam-water solution therein. The shroud body defines a shroud passage that receives the foam-water solution from the nozzle passage. The agitator is positioned within the shroud passage, and has a rounded agitator portion and a straight agitator portion that extends from the rounded agitator portion. The foam-water solution impinges on the agitator at the rounded agitator portion to aspirate the foam-water solution with air to generate foam. A portion of the foam-water solution separates from the agitator at the straight agitator portion. The deflector deflects the foam-water solution and the foam to generate a spray pattern of the foam-water solution and the foam at a coverage area.
