A mechanism for maintaining the same communication identity number when intercepted calls are forwarded is embodied in various methods, devices and media-storing software.

A system and method for enhancing video communication among two or more users is provided. According to an aspect, a method is provided. The method comprises receiving user input of a subject, wherein the user input was captured by a user interface, and determining an interpretation of the captured user input of the subject. The method further comprises determining one or more commands for moving an avatar of the subject based on the interpretation and using the one or more commands for controlling movement of the avatar presented via a computing device.

Systems and methods for selectively providing messages to users equipment (UEs) are disclosed. Different types of messages can be associated with different statuses for each UE based on user preferences, network settings, or plan parameters. UEs can be available to receive some types of messages, but not other types of messages, depending on the UE's current connection type, location, or plan parameters. Messages sent to multiple UEs associated with the same service account can be sent based on the availability of each UE to receive the message. Messages are not sent to UEs that are not available to receive that type of message. UEs connected to a common network can enable messaging services to other UEs associated with a common service account or network identity. Messaging services can be available despite each UEs availability to other types of messages.

In a communication system, a service centralization and continuity application server (SCC AS): receives a first SIP message for establishing an IMS centralized service session; receives early session media information; and sends a second SIP message carrying the early session media information to a media gateway control device. The early session media information is carried in the second SIP message in a form of regular session media information, thus the media gateway control device uses an existing circuit switched bearer to transmit early session media to a first user equipment. The existing circuit switched bearer is established under control of the media gateway control device for a session between the first user equipment and a third user equipment. The SCC AS receives an off-hook signal from the second user equipment, and sends the regular session media information to the media gateway control device.

A mobile device determines whether the mobile device is docked with a docking station that connects to a VoIP network, where the mobile device is capable of receiving calls to a cellular telephone number and calls to a VoIP telephone number. The mobile device notifies, if the mobile device is docked with the docking station, a call handling node in a cellular network to forward calls destined for the cellular telephone number to the VoIP telephone number at a VoIP call server. The mobile device receives a call forwarded from the VoIP call server, where the call was originally destined for the cellular telephone number.

Communications equipment associated with a calling party in a telecommunications network has a telephony function for handling telephone calls and a data communication application for handling data communication sessions. The telephony function and the data communication application have an associated first and second user interface respectively. A called party identifier is collected via the second user interface in response to user input at the communications equipment. A telephone call is set up between the calling party and the called party using the telephony function on the basis of the collected called party identifier. Data communication session setup information, comprising information identifying the called party, is transmitted on the basis of the collected called party identifier. The data communication session setup information is for establishing a data communication session separate from the telephone call for the communication of data between the calling party and the called party.

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a computer-readable storage medium in a telephone having computer instructions to execute a web server application in the telephone. The web server application can be operable to detect an incoming plain old telephone service call, identify a calling party identifier from the incoming plain old telephone service call, and direct one of a plurality of devices detected by web server application to present the calling party identifier. Voice to text (VTT) call transcription technologies are provided. At least one server receives a request from a mobile device to initiate a transcription of voice communication of a call between the mobile device and another device. The server, responsive to the request, establishes a bridged communication session between the server, the mobile device, the other device and a VTT system. The bridged communication session includes the voice communication of the call that is exchanged between the mobile device and the other device. The VTT system converts the voice communication of the call in the bridged communication session to a text transcription. The VTT system sends the text transcription of the voice communication of the call, for example, to the first mobile device.

A system and method for secure storage and management of transitory data, comprising at least a profile manager, a callback manager, a context analysis engine, and a vault manager, which allows a user to create a data container to store data preferences, which encrypts the data stored within a data container, which creates a password for accessing the data container, which temporarily stores the data container, which manages data container interactions between the system user and a second user, such as a business enterprise, and which establishes default preferences and creates a default container based upon context content data.
