09729379 · 2017-08-08 · ·

A method for maintaining a media stream through a first network equipment while suspending the associated media stream connection in a communication network, comprising receiving within a second network equipment a trigger for suspending a media stream, sending a signalling command for maintaining the media stream and blocking the maintained media stream is provided.

Multi-touch remoting

An invention is disclosed for using multi-touch input in a remote presentation session. In embodiments of the invention, a client computer is configured to locally receive both mouse and keyboard input, and multi-touch input. Where the client computer receives mouse or keyboard input, it sends this input to a remote presentation session server via a TCP connection. Where the client computer receives multi-touch input, it sends this input to the remote presentation session server via a UDP connection. The server computer processes input received from the client computer, via either the TCP or UDP connection, and sends the client a graphical result of performing processing corresponding to that received input.

Methods and apparatus for automatically adding a media component to an established multimedia collaboration session

A multimedia collaboration system that facilitates more efficient, free-flowing collaboration sessions. In order to make addition of new participants, media components, and or network access device to a collaboration session more efficient, client devices associated with each participant can store endpoint address information that can be automatically obtained by the multimedia collaboration system. The endpoint address information can then be used to add the new participants, media components, and or network access device.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR GENERATION OF MEDIA

A method of generating media programming includes providing a first media source having a plurality of media elements, tags associated with each of the media elements, and one or more first media source templates for assembling of the media elements into media programming. The method further includes providing a second media source, the second media source having at least a second template and receiving a request for media programming at the second media source. The method further includes in response to the request, generating media programming including selected ones of the media elements assembled in accordance with at least the second template.

ACCESS BEACON TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION SCHEMES
20170223604 · 2017-08-03 ·

An access beacon sequence is transmitted by an entity in a communication system, the access beacon sequence comprising at least one access beacon packet. A method includes segmenting the access beacon sequence into access beacon segments, by segmenting said at least one access beacon packet. For each one of the access beacon segments, an access beacon portion is generated to include a corresponding one of the plurality of access beacon segments and an indicator indicating that the access beacon portion refers to an access beacon sequence of the communication system, so as to obtain a plurality of access beacon portions corresponding to the plurality of access beacon segments. Each access beacon portion of the plurality of access beacon portions is transmitted on a respective frequency channel amongst a plurality of frequency channels, where different access beacon portions are sent on different frequency channels according to portion-frequency association information.

[Object] To enable provision of a service of MBSFN using frequency bands shared by a plurality of radio communication systems.

[Solution] There is provided an apparatus, including: a first control unit configured to acquire scheduling information for MBSFN transmission in a frequency band shared by a plurality of radio communication systems and provide the scheduling information to two or more base stations belonging to an MBSFN area for the MBSFN transmission.

Method and system for transforming video streams using a multi-channel flow-bonded traffic stream

A flow bonder at a CMTS and another at a cable modem distribute packets of a service flow over multiple channels and collect them in the downstream direction respectively; vice versa in the upstream direction. The service flow may include video and data streams that are provided to the CMTS via an IP network. IP header information is stripped form video packets and remultiplexed with packets of other video streams. The remultiplexed video stream packets are combined into a composite stream, which is transported using multiple bonded-flow RF channels over an HFC. A set top box receives the composite stream and separates data from video packets based on IP information. Video packets are assembled according to information from a multiple program transport stream table based on a program selected by a user.

System and method for implementing multimedia calling line identification presentation service

From one perspective, an apparatus receives a request for a calling terminal device to initiate a session with a called terminal device. Based on the request, the apparatus obtains a storage address of the multimedia resource, and sends the address to the called terminal device. Based on sending the address the apparatus receives, from the called terminal device, a message indicating the called terminal device is playing the multimedia resource, and a message indicating that the called terminal device is off-hook. The called terminal device stops playing the multimedia resource when off-hook. From another perspective, a terminal device receives a storage address of a multimedia resource from a service management entity. The terminal device downloads the multimedia resource from a resource storage entity, and plays the multimedia resource as part of ringing, and before detecting that it is off-hook. The terminal device ceases playback after detecting it is off-hook.

Link policy routing based on link utilization
09722928 · 2017-08-01 · ·

In one embodiment, a link utilization threshold is assigned to a first link. Link utilization of the first link and of one or more second links is monitored. The first link is considered to be out-of-policy (OOP) in the event that the link utilization of the first link surpasses the link utilization threshold. In response to the first link being considered OOP, action is taken. An excess utilization of the first link is determined. One or more prefixes currently routed over the first link whose collective per prefix utilization exceeds the excess utilization are determined. Provided that the collective per prefix utilization of the one or more prefixes currently routed over the first link, if added to the link utilization of the one or more second links, would not cause the one or more second links to be considered OOP, the one or more prefixes are redirected over them.

Interfaces to manage last-mile connectivity for direct network peerings

Methods and apparatus for interfaces to manage last-mile connectivity and dynamic reconfiguration for direct network peerings. A system may include a data center, endpoint routers and a connectivity coordinator. The coordinator implements an interface defining connectivity operations. The coordinator receives a request for dedicated connectivity to data center resources, formatted according to the interface. The coordinator determines a connectivity provider to provide last-mile connectivity to the requester, and transmits a notification identifying the selected connectivity provider.
