Switched multicast video streaming
A system and method for improving media delivery and display. By utilizing a memory buffer in a DVR or similar device, and broadcasting linear content at a rate other than 1×, services like video on demand or regular broadcasters can be more versatile. For example, viewers can start over without launching a separate VOD session. If part of the linear content requested is not in the buffer, a switched multicast stream can be sent with the proper section of content. Other receivers on the network may also receive the stream and buffer the content if the content is related to what a viewer is viewing.
System, method, and apparatus for IP-based radio communications
System, method, and apparatus for Internet Protocol (IP) based radio communications. One or more browser-based dispatch consoles connect to one or more Radio over IP (RoIP) gateway device over an untrusted network (e.g., the public Internet) using a Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) connection secured with SSL/TLS. Each RoIP gateway device provides an analog interface to the radio domain so as to communicate with one or more radio. This architecture avoids any ongoing connection to a centralized cloud-based server and maintains secure radio communications over the untrusted network. Each browser-based dispatch console accesses each RoIP gateway device from a standard web browser thus enabling portability across any platform that supports a browser.
System and method for concurrent operation of voice operated switch and voice control with wake word
A method is provided. The method includes enabling voice activated switch (VOX) mode on a communication device. The method further includes enabling a wake word detector on the communication device. The method also includes monitoring for voice activity using a voice activity detector (VAD). The method additionally includes detecting voice activity using the VAD, wherein detecting voice activity further includes: storing the voice activity in a buffer, determining, using the wake word detector, the presence or absence of a wake word in the voice activity, monitoring for and subsequently processing a voice command based on the determination of the presence of the wake word in the voice activity, and initiating a transmit operation, on the communication device, of the voice activity stored in the buffer based on the absence of the wake word in the voice activity.
Elevating a telephone call to a virtual meeting
A telephone call is elevated to a virtual meeting while maintaining the telephone call as an audio channel of the virtual meeting for an audio-only caller. During a telephone call, one of the participants of the telephone call requests to switch the telephone call to a virtual meeting. To enable an audio-only caller participating in the telephone call to switch to the virtual meeting, a message is transmitted to the phone device of the audio-only caller. Responsive to an interaction with the message at the phone device, the phone device is connected to the virtual meeting in which the telephone call is maintained as the audio channel at least for the audio-only caller. The specific form and content of the message is based on whether a client application associated with a web service used to implement the virtual meeting is installed on the phone device.
Land mobile radio dispatch console
An exemplary land mobile radio dispatch console and method are provided. In one embodiment, the console has the capability to process and handle Requests To Talk (RTT) and emergencies. In another embodiment, the console has the capability to provide a history. In another embodiment, the console provides the capability for operators to configure and save patches of predefined groups for later use. In another embodiment, the console includes a telephone interconnect interface component, and combinations of features mentioned above.

SUPPLEMENTAL AUDIO CONTENT FOR GROUP COMMUNICATIONS
Systems, methods, software and apparatus enable providing supplemental audio content to members of a communication group via a group communication service that manages the multiple member user nodes' transmission and receipt of communications between and among the member user nodes. A request for audio content (e.g., from the communication group or a member user node) causes the group communication service to launch a bot node member to locate and deliver the requested audio content. The audio content can be merged with user node communications (e.g., as transmission packets or as streaming audio content). In some implementations each user node includes a wearable push-to-talk end user device linked to a communication device executing a communication application connected to the group communication service.

Video management system (VMS) with embedded push to talk (PTT) control
Embodiments include a system, method, and computer program product that enable video management of a plurality of video feeds with Push to Talk (PTT) communications. Some embodiments monitor a plurality of video feeds using a VMS graphics user interface (GUI) where a plurality of video feeds are video feed components of an interactive multimedia media object (IMMO) displayed in the VMS GUI. Some embodiments include receiving a selection of a first talk group that is associated with the IMMO, where members of the first talk group may view the video feed components and communicate via PTT. Subsequently, some embodiments include receiving a second selection of a second talk group, associating the second talk group with the IMMO, and enabling PTT communications among members of the second talk group and an operator of the VMS.
