System and method for multi-party communication of trending topics

A system and method for multi-party communication includes determining a trending common identifier within a media platform and generating a communication channel within a communication platform based on the common identifier. The method and system includes, in response to a join request from each of a plurality of users, connecting the plurality of users to the communication channel, where the communication channel is an open communication channel for active audio communication between the plurality of users across the communication platform and facilitating audio communication between the plurality of users, including providing a visual display on the communication platform, including visual display of the active audio communication across the communication platform.

Voice communication method

An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device includes one or more processors and memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by the one or more processors. The one or more programs include instructions for receiving, from an external device associated with a contact, a request to establish a full-duplex live audio communication session between the electronic device and the external device; determining whether the contact is on a list; and in response to a determination that the contact is on the list, establishing the full-duplex live audio communication session between the electronic device and the external device, where the live audio communication session is established without receiving a user input that acknowledges the request.

Distributed content uploading and validation

In accordance with one or more embodiments, aspects of the disclosure provide efficient, effective, and convenient ways of uploading and authenticating content. In particular, a user device may receive validating information from a wireless networking device. The user or client device may record a content item, and may insert a validation tag based on the validating information. The user or client device may then send the content item to the wireless networking device. The wireless networking device may receive the content item at a first location and may determine the validity of the content item based on the validating information. The user device may continually interact with wireless networking devices as it travels to continually upload content items while establishing the validity of the time and location of the content items.

Communication systems with call interrupt capabilities

Some example communication systems include a fixed network equipment (FNE) operable to receive a talk group call from a first radio. The FNE is operable to transmit the talk group call to a second radio. The FNE is operable to receive a request for a high priority call. The communication system includes a gateway operable to transmit an interrupt signaling message through a broadband channel to the first radio. The interrupt signaling message includes instructions to de-key from the talk group call. Some example communication systems include a first radio operable to communicate with a second radio in a talk group call. The communication system includes a gateway operable to receive a request for a high priority call. The gateway is operable to transmit an interrupt signaling message through a broadband channel to the first radio. The interrupt signaling message includes instructions to make a high priority call decision.

Systems and methods for virtual interactions are described. One or more users can view or listen to media, react to the media and share such media experience virtually with others. The media experience can take place synchronously, asynchronously or both.

Push notification enablement for SIP-based networks

A method of maintaining SIP registration in a SIP network for a SIP User Agent resident on a client device, the SIP User Agent having registered with a Push Provider to receive Push Notifications via an Operating System of the client device. The method comprises notifying a push gateway, present in a SIP path between the SIP User Agent and the SIP network, that the SIP User Agent is registered with the Push Provider, the push gateway having an interface to a push server of the Push Provider. The method further comprises performing initial SIP registration of the SIP User Agent with the SIP network via a SIP connection extending through the push gateway and thereafter maintaining a re-registration timer at the push gateway and, upon or prior to expiry of the timer, sending a push notification identifying a re-registration event from the push gateway to the client device via the push server. The push notification is received at the client device which passes the event notification to the SIP User Agent. Re-registration of the SIP User Agent is then performed with the SIP network via a SIP connection extending through the push gateway.

System, method, and apparatus for floor control during push to talk

There is disclosed herein systems, methods, and apparatuses for floor control in a push to talk communication session. According to certain embodiments, a method for floor control comprises, prior to transmitting a first message to one or more wireless devices, determining, at a first wireless device, a priority of the first message. The method also comprises determining, at the first wireless device, whether a floor is available for transmitting the first message based on the determined priority of the first message. The method additionally includes, upon the floor being available, transmitting the first message from the first wireless device to the one or more wireless devices. The method additionally includes transmitting the first message from the first wireless device without the first wireless device first requesting the floor from a remote floor controller.

A method for applying for media transmission permission, and a method and an apparatus for canceling media transmission permission are provided. The method for applying for media transmission permission includes: determining, by a first terminal, that a second terminal needs to transmit media data; and sending, by the first terminal, media transmission permission request indication information to a mission critical service (MCS) server, where the media transmission permission request indication information is used to instruct the MCS server to grant media transmission permission to the second terminal.

AF influenced PDU session management and subscription procedures

Methods, electronic devices, and computer readable media for application function (AF) protocol data unit (PDU) session management and subscription procedures. A method for a method for PDU session management includes initiating a PDU session for an application function (AF) within an application server (AS) that is not part of a cellular network and sending configuration information to a network exposer function (NEF) to communicate directly with a network function (NF) of the cellular network to provide services for the PDU session. The method additionally includes receiving authorization from the NEF and communicating directly with the cellular network NF to provide the PDU services during the PDU session.
