Method and apparatus for associating services in an electronic device

A method for associating services in an electronic device is provided. The method includes sending, by a first electronic device, a first service with a first private association dialog (PAD) to a second electronic device, wherein the first PAD of the first service includes a first PAD identifier and sending, by the first electronic device, a second service with a second PAD to the second electronic device, wherein the second PAD of the second service includes a second PAD identifier that matches the first PAD identifier to associate the second service with the first service at the second electronic device.

Method for acquiring user information and electronic device therefor

The present invention relates to acquisition of user information by an electronic device, and comprises a communication module, a display, a processor, and a memory. The communication module and the display according to various embodiments are electrically connected to the processor. The processor is electrically connected to the memory. The memory causes the processor to: receive media information which does not include utterer information, perform signaling for acquisition of utterer information related to the media information, and determine and display the utterer information. Various other embodiments are possible.

Multiple talkgroup navigation management

A method and device for navigating between multiple talkgroups. The device includes a user input interface, a display, and an electronic processor communicatively coupled to the display. The processor is configured to generate, on the display, a graphical user interface, associate the communication device with a first talkgroup, present, on the display, a first application related to the first talkgroup, receive, via the user input interface, a user input indicative of a request to change talkgroups, associate, in response to the user input, the communication device with a second talkgroup, and present, on the display, a second application related to the second talkgroup.

Ground Combat Vehicle Communication System
20210092027 · 2021-03-25 ·

A communication system provides multimedia communications within and between armored ground combat vehicles (GCVs). The system includes client computers within the armored GCVs providing distributed and interconnected multimedia communications among the client computers. The multimedia communication may include a one-to-one communication, a text communication to a group, an audio communication to a group, or a video communication to a group. Logic providing the distributed and interconnected multimedia communications is not located at a single client computer. The client computers display graphical user interfaces (GUIs) enabling soldiers to select parameters of the communication system with some GUIs providing presence discovery among the armored GCVs. One of the plurality of client computers acts as an origination station and other client computers may be configured as receiving communication station(s). The origination communication station may transmit digital communication data to the receiving communication station(s).

Methods and apparatus for communicating resource establishment details over eMBMS

A method and apparatus for communicating resource activation details are disclosed. A method of resource activation by a group application server may include requesting, by the group application server, establishment of a distributed resource to be established in a broadcast area and an indication of profess to establish the distributed resource, and receiving a first notification at the group application server. The first notification may be indicative of progress in the establishment of the distributed resource and may be received before the distributed resource is established in the broadcast area.

System and method for push-to-talk over cellular integration with software defined radio
10959062 · 2021-03-23 ·

A system and method for sending notifications of audio tone sequences to users in a push-to-talk over cellular communication system, including: decoding an audio transmission in a PTT (push to talk) server or in a PTT client, identifying audio tone sequences in the audio transmission, and sending from the PTT server or from the PTT client notifications of the identified specific audio tone sequences to users of cellular mobile devices, computers, and two-way radio communication devices. The notification may be a text message to a predefined PTT group, a delayed buffered replay of the audio transmission, the specific audio tone sequences with the audio transmission before and after the specific audio tone sequences; or an emergency alert sent to predefined members of a PTT group, or a combination thereof.

Method and Device for Protecting Confidentiality of Audio Messages

A process for protecting confidentiality of audio messages that are received at an electronic computing device for providing a corresponding audio output at electronic audio output devices. In operation, the electronic computing device partitions the audio message into audio content segments, where each audio content segment is assigned to a respective confidentiality level. The electronic computing device determines a current exposure level of the electronic audio output device. The electronic computing device further determines whether the audio message is to be modified based on a current exposure level of the electronic audio output device and the respective confidentiality level assigned to each audio content segment. An audio output corresponding to the modified audio message is provided at the electronic audio output device when it is determined that the audio message is to be modified.
