Ground combat vehicle communication system

A communication system provides multimedia communications within and between armored ground combat vehicles (GCVs). The system includes client computers within the armored GCVs providing distributed and interconnected multimedia communications among the client computers. The multimedia communication may include a one-to-one communication, a text communication to a group, an audio communication to a group, or a video communication to a group. Logic providing the distributed and interconnected multimedia communications is not located at a single client computer. The client computers display graphical user interfaces (GUIs) enabling soldiers to select parameters of the communication system with some GUIs providing presence discovery among the armored GCVs. One of the plurality of client computers acts as an origination station and other client computers may be configured as receiving communication station(s). The origination communication station may transmit digital communication data to the receiving communication station(s).

A process and device for responding to a query includes receiving a query for providing a response at a first communication device via a first electronic computing device. The process includes determining that the response to the query is to be provided as a group response to a plurality of communication devices including the first communication device that are members of a first communication group. When it is determined that the first electronic computing device does not have permission to process the query, a second electronic computing device that has permission to process the query is identified and further the query is forwarded from the first electronic computing device to the second electronic computing device to enable the second electronic computing device to process the query and generate a group response to be provided to at least one of the communication devices in the first communication group.

Impromptu Community Streamer

Various systems and methods for streaming an impromptu community are described herein. In one example, a system for streaming impromptu communities includes a data storage device, a community analyzer, and a publisher. In an example, the data storage device can store a number of incoming data sets, wherein each data set identifies a time and location for the origin of the data, a media instance, and an identification of an origin device or origin user. In an example, the community analyzer can operate from the data storage device to use a processor in order to calculate an IC boundary and generate an impromptu community (IC) indicator based on the proximity and temporality of the number of incoming data sets. In an example, the processor can modify the number of data sets to include the IC indicator.

Method and device for associating user with group

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and a device for associating a user with a group. The method includes: receiving, by a first communications device, a first association request sent by a second communications device, where the first association request includes an identifier of an MCPTT user and identifiers of N MCPTT groups, and N is a positive integer; associating the MCPTT user with M MCPTT groups of the N MCPTT groups according to association subscription information of the MCPTT user; and sending a first association response to the second communications device, where the first association response is used to indicate that the MCPTT user is successfully associated with the M MCPTT groups of the N MCPTT groups, 1MN, and M is an integer. In this way, the MCPTT user is associated with the M MCPTT groups that the MCPTT user is interested in.

Providing data file updates using multimedia broadcast multicast services

A method is provided for providing application data. The method includes a network node receiving at least one application identifier (App-ID) associated with at least a first user equipment (UE) and a second UE; the network node requesting to receive notifications of updates to application data associated with the at least one App-ID; the network node configuring a broadcast entity to transmit application data associated with the at least one App-ID; and the network node sending configuration data to the first and second UEs for receiving application data from the broadcast entity.

INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, TERMINAL, SYSTEM, AND COMPUTER STORAGE MEDIUM

This application discloses an information processing method, a terminal and a system. The method includes initializing a live broadcasting service between an anchor user and a live viewer; collecting media data; encoding the collected media data to form a live video stream, and sending the live video stream to a live window of the live viewer. The method further includes setting a media information push area based on a live window of the anchor user; loading, to the media information push area, candidate media information pushed to the live viewer; determining to-be-pushed media information selected by the anchor user; and sending the to-be-pushed media information to the media information push area of the live viewer to be displayed.

Method for providing dynamic quality of service for push-to-talk service

A system and method for providing dynamic quality-of-service (QoS) for Push-to-Talk (PTT) services in a wireless communications network. One or more servers interface to the wireless communications network to perform the PTT services for mobile units therein. Both the servers and the mobile units communicate with each other using control messages transmitted across bearers in the wireless communications network, and at least one of the servers transmits media streams comprised of voice messages for the PTT services between the mobile units across the bearers in the wireless communications network. At least one of the servers sets up a dedicated bearer in the wireless communications network for at least one of the mobile units, wherein the dedicated bearer has a specified quality of service (QoS) for transmission of at least the media streams to the mobile unit. The dedicated bearer may be static or dynamic.

Session management and notification mechanisms for push-to-talk (PTT)

An embodiment method includes receiving, by a notification service running on a processor, a notification from a first component of a push-to-talk (PTT) platform. The notification is for transmission to a PTT client. The method further includes determining, by the notification service, an access transport type used by the PTT client to communicate with the PTT platform, and selecting, by the notification service, a second component to transmit the notification to the PTT client. Selecting the second component is in accordance with the access transport type used by the PTT client. The method further includes transmitting, by the notification service, the notification to the second component.

System and method for optimizing a transcoding session between multiple terminals are disclosed. The method determines properties of the transcoding session, including a number of terminals participating in the transcoding session, media characteristics supported by each terminal, a measure of performance of the transcoding session to be optimized, and optionally a proportion of time involved in the transcoding session for each terminal. Then a cost function characterizing the measure of performance of the transcoding session and depending on the above properties of the transcoding session is built, followed by optimizing the cost function with respect to said measure of performance to determine an optimal measure of performance for the transcoding session and optimal values for the media characteristics for each terminal. In one embodiment, codecs used by multiple terminals and computational complexity of the transcoding session are optimized. A corresponding system for optimizing the transcoding session is also provided.
