Merging active group calls
A method for merging active group calls includes hosting, at a first Push to talk (PTT) server, a first active group call. A first group of PTT clients participate in the first active group call. The first PTT server receives a request to invite a second group of PTT clients. The request includes an identifier for the second group of PTT clients. The first PTT server sends a first invite message to the second PTT server. The first invite message includes the identifier for the second group of PTT clients. In response to the first invite message, the first PTT server receives a response message. The response message indicates that the second group of PTT clients are participating in the second active group call. The first PTT server hosts a merged PTT group call.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SEAMLESS PUSH-TO-TALK SERVICES
Embodiments include a system, method, and computer program product for providing seamless PTT services to a user. In an embodiment, a push-to-talk (PTT) component provides, to the user, PTT services with a talk group through a connectivity to a data channel in a mobile network. A voice monitoring component monitors attributes of data connectivity on the data channel to determine when a voice quality falls below a threshold. When the voice quality is determined to fall below the threshold, a connectivity component requests the user to switch the connectivity to a voice channel. Then, the connectivity component dials a telephone number through the voice channel to access a voice conference bridge that provides the PTT services. To provide the PTT services, the voice conference bridge sets up a routing path to a session initiation protocol (SIP) session for the talk group, and routes voice communication through the SIP session.
VoIP denial-of-service protection mechanisms from attack
A system and method for providing advanced voice services in a wireless communications network. The system also interfaces to an Internet Protocol (IP) network to perform the advanced voice services for mobile units in the IP network and includes a protection mechanism against Voice-over-IP (VoiP) Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks utilizing Advanced Group Services (AGS).
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING A COMMUNICATION SESSION BETWEEN MULTIPLE TERMINALS INVOLVING TRANSCODING OPERATIONS
System and method for optimizing a transcoding session between multiple terminals are disclosed. The method determines properties of the transcoding session, including a number of terminals participating in the transcoding session, media characteristics supported by each terminal, a measure of performance of the transcoding session to be optimized, and optionally a proportion of time involved in the transcoding session for each terminal. Then a cost function characterizing the measure of performance of the transcoding session and depending on the above properties of the transcoding session is built, followed by optimizing the cost function with respect to said measure of performance to determine an optimal measure of performance for the transcoding session and optimal values for the media characteristics for each terminal. In one embodiment, codecs used by multiple terminals and computational complexity of the transcoding session are optimized. A corresponding system for optimizing the transcoding session is also provided.
APPARATUS FOR ADAPTIVE DYNAMIC WIRELESS AERIAL MESH NETWORK
Embodiments include an apparatus for an adaptive dynamic wireless aerial mesh network having aerial nodes that provides real-time persistent wide area communications service to provide communications in response to an incident. Typically, the service area is a wide area that is physically inaccessible via ground transportation. In addition, embodiments include the formation of a decentralized mesh supernetwork comprising two or more dynamic wireless aerial mesh networks. A member of a first dynamic wireless aerial mesh network may send a request to a member of a second dynamic wireless aerial mesh network for the first dynamic wireless aerial mesh network to join the second dynamic wireless aerial mesh network to form a mesh supernetwork, and receive an acceptance from the member of the second dynamic wireless aerial mesh network.
Initiate call to present one or more types of applications and media up-to end of call
A communication channel, method, system, device, apparatus, platform, application & service is disclosed for receiving by a server from a first user, a selection of a second user from a contact list, a request for initiating a call and a selection of one or more types of one or more applications, interfaces and media including at least a selection of a chat graphical user interface; in the event the second user accepts an initiated call within pre-set duration, start communication session and presenting said selected one or more applications, interfaces, media including the chat graphical user interface to first user and/or second user; enabling the first user and/or the second user in real-time to access said presented application or interface or media including the graphical chat interface; receiving by the server, a termination indication from the first user or the second user, the termination indication indicating the ending of the call and based on the termination indication, terminate the call or terminate said communication session.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PROVIDING PUSH-TO-TALK SERVICE IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a technology for a sensor network, machine to machine (M2M) communication, machine type communication (MTC), and Internet of things (IoT). The present disclosure may be utilized for an intelligent service (smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail business, security and a safety-related service, etc.) on the basis of the technology. A method for providing a push-to-talk (PTT) service in a communication system, which is proposed by an embodiment of the present disclosure, comprises the steps of: generating a file format including information associated with time points at which multiple pieces of data should be reproduced; and reproducing the multiple pieces of data on the basis of the file format.
Communication method in terminal and terminal suitable for the same
The present disclosure relates to technologies for a sensor network, machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, or machine type communications (MTC), and Internet of things (IoT), and may be utilized in intelligent services, based on the above technologies, such as a smart home, a smart building, smart cities, smart cars or connected cars, smart grids, healthcare, smart electronics, advanced medical services, public safety network communications through fusion and convergence with conventional IT technologies and various industries. Data transmission control between a group of uncoordinated electronic devices in a computer network including the use of transmission authorization request messages and transmission authorization grant messages.
