WAITING NOTIFICATIONS FOR VIDEOCONFERENCING SUB-MEETINGS
20220353461 · 2022-11-03 ·

One example system for providing notifications to videoconferencing sub-meetings includes a processor and at least one memory device. The processor establishes a videoconferencing session associated with a host. The videoconferencing session can include a main meeting, a sub-meeting, and a waiting queue. The processor can move the host from the main meeting to the sub-meeting, and subsequently move a new participant into the waiting queue. The processor can generate a notification that the participant has entered the waiting queue and determine that the host has moved to the sub-meeting. The processor can route, to the host in the sub-meeting using a stored connection of the host to the main meeting, a notification of the participant entering the waiting queue, and subsequently allow the host to admit the new participant.

Modifying Video Call QoS Based on a Signal Quality Measurement
20220060933 · 2022-02-24 · ·

A wireless device determines a change in a signal quality measurement of a wireless network. In response to the determining, a first message for changing one or more media for a video call in the wireless network is transmitted from the wireless device to a video application function (AF). A policy and charging rules function (PCRF) receives from the video AF, a DIAMETER AA-request (AAR) command for modifying a quality of service (QoS) of the video call. The PCRF transmits to a policy and charging enforcement function (PCEF), a second message comprising an updated QoS, wherein the updated QoS comprises QoS data bearer modification information based on the change in the signal quality measurement of the wireless network. The PCEF implements the updated QoS for the video call.

System, method, and computer program for rating network transmissions based on user requested data

A system, method, and computer program product are provided for rating network transmissions based on user requested data. In use, a transmission of data over a network is identified, where the data includes user requested data and additional data. Additionally, a size of the user requested data is determined. Furthermore, the transmission of the user requested data is rated based on the size of the user requested data. The transmission of additional data may be charged to third parties such as advertisers.

System and Method for Push-to-Talk (PTT) Key One-Touch Calling

A system and method for push-to-talk (PTT) key one-touch calling is provided. In an embodiment, a client device accesses a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode policy. The DRX mode policy is in accordance with push-to-talk (PTT) usage patterns of at least the client device. The client device selects a DRX cycle time based on the DRX mode policy. The client device applies the DRX cycle time to a cellular network interface of the client device.

Method, apparatus and system for group session

The present invention relates to a method, an apparatus and a system for a group session service in a software defined network, and relates to the field of the wireless communication and particularly to a group session service. By separating service control signaling from service data, the demands for a Push to talk over cellular (PoC) server is low and little change is made on a service flow, no extra demands for a user is needed, the control logic of the group call service is simplified, the load of the PoC server is reduced, and the delay of a multiple-party session is remarkably reduced, thereby effectively improving the QoE of the user.

Floor Control Method and Apparatus

An embodiment floor control method includes receiving, by a mission-critical push-to-talk (MCPTT) server over an Long Term Evolution network, a first message sent by a user equipment (UE), where the first message includes an identifier of a group to which a talker corresponding to the UE belongs and a parameter indicating that an event type is a floor request, generating, by the MCPTT server, a second message according to the floor control policy and the first message, and sending the second message to the UE. The method includes receiving a response message of the second message sent by the UE, generating a first instruction message according to the response message of the second message, where the first instruction message is used to instruct a media resource function entity to perform uplink voice switching on a media plane, and sending the first instruction message to the media resource function entity.

Apparatus and methods for centralized message exchange in a user premises device

Methods and apparatus for providing a messaging server within a premises device e.g., a home or enterprise gateway device. In one embodiment, a system is described that includes a premises device that acts as a centralized client messaging platform providing messaging services between a content provider and client devices, and also between client devices within a premises network. The premises device enables client-to-client communication that bypasses the long trip and propagation delay over the Internet by connecting the message across the premises network. The premises device enables messages to be communicated between a content provider outside the premises network and the client devices via a single connection to minimize the number of Internet connections that need to be opened, and the number of messages communicated with servers outside of the premises network via both upstream aggregation and downstream dis-aggregation, which collectively save both network bandwidth and device reaction time.

DYNAMIC CONTENT REORDERING FOR DELIVERY TO MOBILE DEVICES
