An information collection system includes a collection apparatus, and one or more proxy apparatuses, in which the collection apparatus collects information from a terminal by communication using a first communication method, in a case where the information is not collected from the terminal in the communication, transmits an information collection request for the terminal to the one or more proxy apparatuses by communication using a second communication method, and collects the information of the terminal with which any of the one or more proxy apparatuses responds in accordance with the information collection request, and the proxy apparatus responds to the collection apparatus with the collected information in a case where the information is collected from the terminal by communication using the first communication method in accordance with the information collection request from the collection apparatus.

CENTRALIZED LOCATION CONTROL SERVER

An intermediate network node manages location data of mobile terminals in a wireless communication network and includes a processing unit and a memory, which contains instructions executable by the processing unit, whereby the network node is operative to establish connection with one or more mobility management nodes in the network, establish connection with any one of network nodes requesting location data indicating the location of at least one mobile terminal, receive a request for the location data indicating the location of the at least one mobile terminal from a requesting network node of said network nodes, obtain a set of location information indicating the location of the at least one mobile terminal from at least one of the mobility management nodes, produce the requested location data from the obtained set of location information, and provide the produced location data to the requesting network node of said network nodes.

Managing use of intermediate destination computing nodes for provided computer networks

Techniques are described for providing managed computer networks. In some situations, the techniques include managing communications for computing nodes of a managed computer network by using one or more particular computing nodes of the managed computer network that are configured to operate as intermediate destinations to handle at least some communications that are sent by and/or directed to one or more other computing nodes of the managed computer network. For example, a manager module associated with a source computing node may select one or more particular intermediate destination computing nodes to use for one or more particular communications from the source computing node to an indicated final destination, such as based on a configured logical network topology for the managed computer network. The manager module then forwards those communications to a first of the selected intermediate destination computing nodes for further handling.

Distributed caching systems and methods

Example distributed caching systems and methods are described. In one implementation, a system has multiple host systems, each of which includes a cache resource that is accessed by one or more consumers. A management server is coupled to the multiple host systems and presents available cache resources and resources associated with available host systems to a user. The management server receives a user selection of at least one available cache resource and at least one host system. The selected host system is then configured to share the selected cache resource.

In-band protocol-based in-network computation offload framework

A method for offloading services of a sewer application in a network system. The method includes receiving, by a first in-network computation offload instance, a first request packet from a client application, wherein the first request packet includes a first application payload for processing by the server application; generating, by the first instance, a modified request packet that includes the first application payload and first offload information that describes the first instance for use by the server application in coordinating offloading processing to one or more in-network computation offload instances; and transmitting, by the first instance, the modified request packet to the next device in the traffic flow between the client application and the server application, wherein the next device is either (1) a second in-network computation offload instance in the traffic flow between the client application and the server application or (2) the sewer application.

METHOD FOR HEARTBEAT PACKET PROCESSING BY USING PROXY, APPARATUS, AND COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM

The embodiments of the present invention provide a method for heartbeat packet processing by using a proxy, an apparatus, and a communications system. The method includes: receiving, by a host, a first heartbeat packet sent by a first application in a client, where the client is a terminal that accesses the host by using a short range communications technology; and determining, by the host according to the first heartbeat packet and a first preset list, whether the first application is included in the first preset list. Thus, an objective of saving power for the host and the client can be achieved.

Link system, link program, and link method

A client accepts operation information for operating a circuit design CAD tool. The client transmits the accepted operation information to an application server. The application server receives the transmitted operation information. The application server generates a result screen representing a result of operating an implementation design CAD tool according to the received operation information. The application server transmits the generated result screen to the client.

Managing content distribution in a wireless communications environment

A method, system and computer program product for managing content distribution in a mobile communications environment. The communications environment includes a core network and a multitude of end-user devices. In one embodiment, the method comprises downloading content from the core network to the end-user devices; and maintaining a map between the end-user devices, the content downloaded to the end-user devices, and the locations of the end-user devices. When a first of the end-user devices requests a specified content, this map and one or more rules are used to identify a second of the end-user devices having the specified content. The first of the end-user devices fetches the specified content from this identified second of the end-user devices. In one embodiment, object location descriptors embedded in the content are rewritten when the content is downloaded to the end-user devices.

Location-aware caching in an aerial network

Methods and systems are disclosed herein that may help to provide location-aware caching and/or location-specific service profiles in an aerial-vehicle network. An exemplary method may be carried out by an aerial vehicle that is at a location associated with the first geographic area in an aerial-vehicle network that includes a plurality of defined geographic areas, and may involve: (a) determining that a location-aware cache of an aerial vehicle should be updated with user-data associated with the first geographic area; and (b) in response to determining that the location-aware cache should be updated: (i) sending a location-aware cache-update request; (ii) receiving, as a response to the location-aware cache-update request, user-data that corresponds to the first geographic area; and (iii) storing the user-data that corresponds to the first geographic area in a location-aware cache of the aerial vehicle.

A content delivery method and system, where the content delivery method includes receiving, by a first virtual server, a first request message from a content requester, where the first request message carries a first uniform resource locator (URL) of user-requested content, determining, by the first virtual server according to a cache list maintained by the first virtual server, that one of one or more storage servers managed by the first virtual server has cached the content corresponding to the first URL, and redirecting the first request message to a first storage server that is recorded in the cache list and that has cached the content corresponding to the first URL. A computation capability and a storage capability of a server cluster are separated, and content input/output (I/O) throughput performance is effectively improved.
