A node in a content delivery network (CDN) receives a request for content and determines information about the request. When sufficient information about the content is determined, the request is assigned to an appropriate CD service to process the request; and when insufficient information about the content is determined, the request is assigned to a generic CD service to process the request. The generic CD service processes the request; and provides updated information about the content to be used for processing future requests. An appropriate CD service processing a request may also provide updated information about the content to be used for processing future requests.

A method for overcoming intermittent, temporary, or other fetching failures by using multiple attempts for retrieving a content from a web server to a client device is disclosed. The URL fetching may use direct or non-direct fetching schemes, or a combination thereof. The non-direct fetching method may use intermediate devices, such as proxy server, Data-Center proxy server, tunnel devices, or any combination thereof. Upon sensing a failure of a fetching action, the action is repeated using the same or different parameters or attributes, such as by using different intermediate devices, selected based on different parameters or attributes, such as different countries. The repetitions are limited to a pre-defined maximum number or attempts. The fetching attempts may be performed by the client device, by an intermediate device in a non-direct fetching scheme, or a combination thereof. Various fetching schemes may be used sequentially until the content is retrieved.

The present disclosure provides an Internet of Things communication method and apparatus. The method includes: receiving a resource addition request transmitted by a client, where the resource addition request is used to indicate addition of an identification of a reference resource into a collection resource on the first server; performing communication with the reference resource according to an access location of the reference resource and the identification of the reference resource; adding the identification of the reference resource into the collection resource if the communication between the first server and the reference resource is successful. In this way, before adding the reference resource, the first server first performs communication with the reference resource, and adds the identification of the reference resource into the collection resource after determining that the communication between the first server and the reference resource is successful, thereby ensuring the validity of the reference resource.

In one embodiment, method for presenting a message on an activity monitoring device is provided, including the following method operations: downloading a plurality of messages to the device; detecting a stationary state of the device; detecting a movement of the device from the stationary state; in response to detecting the movement from the stationary state, selecting one of a plurality of messages, and displaying the selected message on the device.

In one embodiment, method for presenting a message on an activity monitoring device is provided, including the following method operations: downloading a plurality of messages to the device; detecting a stationary state of the device; detecting a movement of the device from the stationary state; in response to detecting the movement from the stationary state, selecting one of a plurality of messages, and displaying the selected message on the device.

A proxy apparatus acts as an intermediary between one or more bot apparatuses and one or more communication channels. The proxy apparatus connects a communication channel to a bot apparatus for the exchange of messages. A user can interact with the bot apparatus through the communication channel. The proxy apparatus is configured to perform one or more operations or services.
