A sole structure and an article of footwear that includes an upper midsole component, a lower midsole component, and a plate. The lower midsole component includes a raised portion that acts as a fulcrum or pivot point. The raised portion may be attached to the plate. The plate may be able to pivot in response to forces on the lateral side and the medial side.

A support customising system is described for a sole 1 of a shoe. The sole 1 comprises a relatively soft, resilient midsole 3 and an a harder outsole 4. Hard insert elements 5 are provided for inserting into vertical cavities 2 in the midsole 3. By varying the hardnesses of different inserts 5 in different vertical cavities, a precisely-tunable pronation control effect on the wearer's gait can be effected. First-order, second-order and third-order pronation control effects are described.

INSOLE DESIGN

Designs and compositions of insoles for footwear are described herein. The insoles may be customized for a given foot. In some examples, the insole (100) includes a base comprising a variable thickness component (205), a directional stiffness component, a stability component, and a reinforcement component. The base may be a single composition that is manufactured using additive manufacturing techniques.

SANDALS WITH BIOMECHANICAL FOOT SUPPORT

Sandals with biomechanical foot support, robust usability and cost-effectiveness are disclosed. The footwear may comprise a biomechanical sole and a Y-shaped rubber strap anchored to the sole. The sole has a top surface including a raised contour on the medial side of the sandal, and a low profile heel cup. The raised contour on the medial side and the heel cup match the natural anatomic shape of the foot, and thus provides a biomechanical foot support. The bottom surface of the sole may be a roughed surface to provide necessary traction and friction when a wearer/user walks. The bottom surface further comprises a plurality of grooves to allow water to be expelled and increase traction.

WEARABLE STEP-COUNTING SHOE

A wearable step-counting shoe includes a shoe body and a pedometer. The shoe body includes a shoe sole having opposite inner and outer sides, and a groove surface defining amounting groove. The pedometer is removably disposed in the mounting groove and includes a pedometer body having opposite first and second faces and configured to detect and record the number of steps taken by a user, and a screen disposed on the second face and configured to display the detected number of steps. An engaging unit is provided to fix the pedometer on the shoe body, and includes a first engaging portion provided on the groove surface, and a second engaging portion provided on the pedometer and releasably engageable with the first engaging portion.

A wearable step-counting shoe includes a shoe body and a pedometer. The shoe body includes a shoe sole having opposite inner and outer sides, and a groove surface defining amounting groove. The pedometer is removably disposed in the mounting groove and includes a pedometer body having opposite first and second faces and configured to detect and record the number of steps taken by a user, and a screen disposed on the second face and configured to display the detected number of steps. An engaging unit is provided to fix the pedometer on the shoe body, and includes a first engaging portion provided on the groove surface, and a second engaging portion provided on the pedometer and releasably engageable with the first engaging portion.

One aspect of the present disclosure provides a knitted component forming an overfoot portion and an underfoot portion of an article of footwear. The knitted component may include a first layer defining a void and a second layer second layer at least partially surrounding the first layer. The second layer may form an outer surface on the overfoot portion and the underfoot portion, and a portion of the first layer may be continuous with a portion of the second layer in an ankle region of the knitted component. An interstitial space may be formed between the first layer and the second layer, and a component may be disposed between the first layer and the second layer.
