Mapping between classical URLs and ICN networks

A method for routing a request for content from a content provider through an IPv6 network is described, the IPv6 network being an information centric network (ICN) in which content is directly addressed using at least a portion of an IPv6 address. The method includes receiving, at an IPv6 network, a request for content, determining that the request does not comprise an ICN address. The method further includes intercepting the request, and translating the request into an IPv6 address in which at least a portion of the address is directed to or associated with the piece of content. Systems and methods described herein address problems arising from the interaction between IP and ICN networking models.

Network centric adaptive bit rate in an IP network

A method of serving a version of a piece of content from a server to a requesting node is described. A request for a piece of content is received from the requesting node. The request comprises an IP address associated with the requested content, the address including one or more portions relating to one or more parameters associated with the piece of content and at least one portion comprises anonymous bits. A plurality of versions of the requested piece of content are identified, each identified version having an IP address with portions matching the corresponding portions of the IP address of the request, except for the at least one portion comprising anonymous bits. The server then determines a version of the piece of content to send and sends the determined version to the requesting node.

Centralized Validation of Email Senders Via EHLO Name and IP Address Targeting

A DNS server receives from a receiving email system, a DNS query for an email domain stored at the DNS server, the DNS query including identifying information of a sender of an email. The DNS server extracts the identifying information of the email sender from the DNS query and identifies one of a plurality of delivering organizations from the information. The DNS server determines whether the identified delivering organization is authorized to deliver email on behalf of the email domain. In response to determining that the identified delivering organization is authorized to deliver email on behalf of the email domain, the DNS server generates a target validation record based on the identity of the authorized delivering organization and the email domain, the target validation record including one or more rules indicating to the receiving email system whether the delivering organization is an authorized sender of email for the email domain.

Anchoring IP devices in ICN networks

Procedures, methods and architectures for anchoring communication between devices configured to operate in a first type of network in a second type of network or across a peer first type of network are disclosed. A first type of packet originating from a device in the first type of network may be encapsulated into a second type of packet and forwarded via the second type of network.

Image forming apparatus, and web server system for generating content based on detected change

A server apparatus includes a detection unit and a generation unit. The detection unit detects a change in information to be used for access to content provided by a web service. The generation unit generates, in a case where the change is detected, second content in which the information with new settings is added to first content which is associated with the information before the change.

VIRTUAL NETWORK INTERFACE OBJECTS

Methods and apparatus for interfaces to manage virtual network interface objects. A system may include resource instances and a network interface virtualization coordinator. Responsive to a record creation request, the coordinator creates an interface records that may include an IP address, subnet information and security properties. The coordinator may, in response to a request to attach the record to a resource instance, enable traffic directed to the IP address to flow to the resource instance. In response to a subsequent detach request, the traffic to the IP address may be disabled at the resource instance. The same interface record may be attached to another resource instance in response to another attach request, enabling traffic directed to the IP address to flow to the second resource instance.

Conveying information in hostname in a content delivery network (CDN)
10536429 · 2020-01-14 · ·

A computer-implemented method, in a content delivery (CD) network. The method includes: receiving a request regarding a first hostname including at least one tag and an encoding of the at least one address; removing the tag and the encoding of the address to form a second hostname; resolving the second hostname to obtain a set of one or more addresses, wherein the set does not include the at least one address; and returning the address set. On a client, the method includes: making a request for resolution of a first hostname; receiving one or more addresses; attempting to connect to at least one of the addresses; generating a modified hostname including at least one tag and an encoding of the at least one address; and requesting resolution of the modified hostname.

Routing for large server deployments

In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to a method comprising: receiving, at a client device, information from a node manager about a plurality of nodes in a computer cluster, the information comprising a network address associated each of the plurality of nodes and sending, by the client device, a request to a load balancer to access a first node from the plurality of nodes, the request comprising a first URL including an encoded representation of the network address associated with the first node. The load balancer is configured to determine the request should be routed to a first network address based on decoding the URL, the first network address associated with a first node from the plurality of nodes and forward the request to the first node in response to the determining.

Internet protocol multimedia subsystem emergency calls for roaming user equipments

A method of operating a user equipment (UE) to handle an internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) emergency call can include sending a session initiation protocol (SIP) REGISTER request relating to an emergency registration to a proxy call session control function (P-CSCF) of an IMS network. The method can further include, responsive to sending the SIP REGISTER request, receiving a response from the P-CSCF. The method can further include, responsive to receiving the response, performing an action based on the response.
