A system and method of a telephony application platform can include receiving a communication session request specifying a destination endpoint, connecting the communication session through a first application module according to the destination endpoint, receiving an instruction to transition communication control to a second application module, transitioning communication control of the communication session to the second application module, independently metering resource usage of the communication session of each application module, and accounting the metered usage of the communication session.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining from a transport protocol message, capability information associated with user equipment associated with a call session, determining a first codec to provide a first media service to the user equipment associated with the call session according to the capability information, and responsive to determining the first codec, searching a codec table to obtain a first resource identifier associated with a first media resource function to provide the first media service according to the first codec. If the first resource identifier associated with the first codec is not available at the codec table, accessing the first resource identifier associated with the first media resource function from a domain name server and, in turn, transmitting a first request to the first media resource function to provide the first media service to the user equipment associated with the call session. A system and method according to the principles of the invention identifies mobile phone aliases. The system processes mobile location data and call event data to generate mobility profiles. The profiles indicate a mobile's geographic zone history over a specified time. To produce a mobility profile, the system aggregates location data into zones and associates the zones with times of day, week or month. Particular zones for different mobiles can be compared according to weighting algorithms to provide data indicating whether the mobiles belong to the same user.

A system provides the ability for developers to create and embed a URI in HTML, a document, or an application to invoke another application or functionality according to a URI scheme name. The invoked application does not natively react to URI selections. Rather, a URI Broker can redirect the URI selection to the desired application and conduct any pre-processing to allow the URI to invoke any application, even those that do not include URI capability.

There is a growing problem in correctional facility telecommunications systems in which parties on a voice call may connect inmate callers with restricted parties. Prison communication systems monitor calls to prevent such activity, but in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) environments such systems may fail to detect this activity. The present disclosure provides details of a system and method for using SIP messages common in VoIP environments to detect illicit activity initiated by a party on a voice call within a controlled environment. Scenarios are detected in which a called party connects an inmate caller to a restricted party via three-way call conferencing, call forwarding, or other call features. Corrective actions are then taken when such activity is detected, such as call blocking or alerting officials illicit activity is occurring.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a process that continuously connects the processing system to a control plane of a wireless communication network, which includes equipment operating in at least one of the control plane or a user plane. Control information is received across the control plane indicating that client data is to be provided to a client device via the user plane. Responsive to receiving a control signal, an awake signal is sent to the client device. The client device, in response to the awake signal, being placed from an idle state to an active state. The idle state consumes a lower level of power than the active state. Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for discovering a network function (NF) acting as a network function service consumer are provided. One method may include, when a NF service consumer subscribes to notifications from a NF service producer, receiving, by the NF service producer, subscription information including a name of a consumer service of the NF service consumer that subscribes to notifications of the NF service producer. The receiving of the subscription information with the name of the consumer service allows the NF service producer to discover a corresponding NF service from an alternative NF instance within a NF set.

A method of task management executes at a computing device having one or more processors and memory. The memory stores one or more programs configured for execution by the one or more processors. There is received a description of a task associated with a user. Upon receipt of the description of the task, one or more entities associated with the task are identified using at least the description of the task and geographic information about the user. Information is identified for performing the task with the at least one respective entity in the one or more entities based upon an identity of the entity. This identified information for performing the task is then formatted for use by the user.
