NETWORK ADDRESS COMPRESSION FOR ELECTRONIC DEVICES
20220094667 · 2022-03-24 ·

The subject technology provides an in-place encoding of a network identifier that compresses the network identifier without mapping the network identifier to a another server or service, such as URL shortening service. The network identifier may be compressed using segmented encoding operations that segment the network identifier, and encode the characters of the network identifier using a first set of encoding operations for a first portion of the network identifier and a second set of encoding operations for a second portion of the network identifier. Template encoding may also be provided for network identifiers that conform to a predefined template format.

Temporary QoS elevation for high-priority 5G messages
11297643 · 2022-04-05 · ·

Each message in 5G is processed according to a predetermined QoS (quality of service) that determines delay values, order of access, discard probability, and other transmission features. Systems and methods are disclosed for requesting an adjusted QoS for a single data message, without changing the default QoS of the user node's other messages. The QoS adjustment may be an increase in priority (for faster service) or a decrease (to save costs). The temporary QoS request may be transmitted as an SR (scheduling request) message or appended to an SR message. Alternatively, the QoS request may be transmitted on a random access channel concurrently with an SR message, or appended to a BSR (size) message or other message prior to the data message, among other versions disclosed. A nuanced QoS request may specify whether low latency or high reliability or other adjustment, or a combination, is requested. The network may use artificial intelligence (AI) to determine which users may access the QoS adjustment service and under what conditions. Users can thereby control the priority and handling of individual messages, without changing their default QoS, according to some embodiments.

Method of communication implemented in a home-automation system for a building and associated home-automation system
11271845 · 2022-03-08 · ·

Disclosed is a communication method implemented in a home-automation system for a building including communicating elements including home-automation and network equipment, the communicating elements being connected to an unconfigured communication network, each communicating element utilizing a predefined communication protocol, and having physical and network addresses including a network prefix cut up into a plurality of addressing fields, at least one of which is not filled. The method includes steps, implemented by a first home-automation equipment item, of: receiving a message including a compressed header containing a first destination network address indication field and a second indication field indicating a fully compressed source network address; obtaining based on the header, without decompression of the source network address and/or of the destination network address, a recipient network element identified, and determining whether the first home-automation equipment item is the recipient; and processing the message as a function of the determination result.

Communication apparatus, communication system, mail server, and non-transitory computer readable medium

A communication apparatus is connected to a communication line by using a dynamically-set global Internet-Protocol address and includes a detector and a transmitting unit. The detector detects a change in the global Internet-Protocol address. The transmitting unit transmits the changed global Internet-Protocol address to a mail server when the detector detects the change in the global Internet-Protocol address, so that the changed global Internet-Protocol address is registered in an Internet-Protocol-address limiting function of the mail server.

Rapid uplink access by modulation of 5G scheduling requests
11212831 · 2021-12-28 · ·

In 5G, user nodes seeking uplink permission must first transmit a single-bit scheduling request (SR) at a designated time. The base station can provide a first grant for the user to upload a BSR (size) message, and later a second grant to upload a data message. Disclosed are methods in which the SR may be modulated to carry additional information, such as the identity of the transmitting node or the BSR information, thereby avoiding delays and providing rapid uplink access for low-latency applications. The SR resources may be shared by N other user nodes, where N is the number of modulation states, each sharing node having a different assigned modulation. The base station can determine which user node wants to talk according to the timing, frequency, and modulation of the SR. Means for resolving collisions are disclosed.

ADDRESSING SYSTEM FOR A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORK
20210282004 · 2021-09-09 ·

The application relates to an addressing system for a wireless communication network. The system comprises a first communication device and a second communication device. The first and second communication devices belong to a group of plurality of communication devices of the network. Each communication device is configured to provide a bi-directional radio communication with at least one of the plurality of communication devices. Each communication device has a long node identifier for addressing said communication device and for being used in at least one security procedure of communication in the network. Each communication device is configured to generate a short node identifier (S-ID) for identifying said communication device in a dedicated communication between it and other communication device belonging to the plurality of communication devices.

Compression of Internet Protocol Version 6 Addresses in Wireless Sensor Networks

A method for managing Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) addresses in a wireless sensor network is provided that includes storing, on a wireless sensor device in the wireless sensor network, a prefix of an IPv6 address in association with a key, forming an address indicator for the IPv6 address, the address indicator consisting of the key and a node address of the IPv6 address, and storing the address indicator in at least one memory location on the wireless sensor device in lieu of the IPv6 address.

Transmitter for emitting signals and receiver for receiving signals

The invention refers to a transmitter for emitting at least one signal towards a receiver. A signal generator generates the signal such that the signal includes data content. The data content is modified using an identifier assigned to the transmitter or assigned to the receiver. The invention also refers to a receiver and corresponding methods.

Variable address length communication protocol

A communication unit and discoverable unit communicate according to a protocol in which unit addresses are not of a predetermined length. The communication unit sends a discovery request to the discoverable unit. The discoverable unit receives the discovery request and generates a discovery response. The discovery response comprises an address field of length unknown to the communication unit, populated with an address of the discoverable unit. The discovery response also comprises a flag following the address field. The discoverable unit sends the discovery response to the communication unit. The communication unit receives the discovery response and determines the address field length by counting the number of bits prior to the flag.

Method and system for URL shortening

The disclosed system and methods herein are directed to a URL shortening service. The URL shortening service herein processes short URL links by using special scripts embedded into website HTML documents. The need to perform manipulations with DNS of the domain or use subdomains are obviated.
