SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING IMAGE DATA TO TRIGGER CONTACTLESS CARD TRANSACTIONS
A method for controlling a near field communication between a device and a transaction card is disclosed. The method includes the steps of capturing, by a front-facing camera of the device, a series of images of the transaction card and processing each image of the series of images to identify a darkness level associated with a distance of the transaction card from the front of the device. The method includes comparing each identified darkness level to a predetermined darkness level associated with a preferred distance for a near field communication read operation and automatically triggering a near field communication read operation between the device and the transaction card for the communication of a cryptogram from an applet of the transaction card to the device in response to the identified darkness level corresponding to the predetermined darkness level associated with the preferred distance for the near field communication read operation.
OFFSET CONTROL FOR ASSEMBLING AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE HOUSING
Housings for electronic devices are disclosed. According to one aspect, adjoining surfaces of electronic device housings can be mounted or arranged such that adjoining surfaces are flush to a high degree of precision. The electronic devices can be portable and in some cases handheld.
Antenna and electronic device including the same
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a housing including a first surface, a second surface disposed facing an opposite side of the first surface, and a side surface configured to surround at least a portion of a space between the first surface and the second surface, a first elongated metal member configured to form a first portion of the side surface and including a first end and a second end, at least one communication circuit electrically connected to a first point of the first elongated metal member through a capacitive element, at least one ground member disposed in an interior of the housing, and a first conductive member configured to electrically connect a second point of the first elongated metal member to the ground member. The second point of the first elongated metal member is disposed closer to the second end than to the first point.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE FRAME AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME
An electronic device frame and an electronic device including the electronic device frame are provided. According to certain example embodiments, the electronic device frame may include a support member. The support member may include a surface area within a predetermined depth from a surface, and a core area corresponding to an area other than the surface area. The surface area may include a planar portion and a plurality of concave portions. An oxide film may be formed on a surface of the support member, and an amount of silicon in the surface area may be less than an amount of silicon in the core area. In addition, various other example embodiments are possible.
Folding phone-support device
The folding phone support device removably attaches to the rear face of any smartphone. In its preferred embodiment, the folding phone support device uses a phone plate, affixed to the phone via a double-sided adhesive. The phone plate includes recesses that interact with latches in the base of the folding phone support device, allowing the folding phone support device to be attached and detached from the phone.
Two-dimensional addessable array of piezoelectric MEMS-based active cooling devices
A cooling system and method for using the cooling system are described. The cooling system includes a plurality of individual piezoelectric cooling elements spatially arranged in an array extending in at least two dimensions, a communications interface and driving circuitry. The communications interface is associated with the individual piezoelectric cooling elements such that selected individual piezoelectric cooling elements within the array can be activated based at least in part on heat energy generated in the vicinity of the selected individual piezoelectric cooling elements. The driving circuitry is associated with the individual piezoelectric cooling elements and is configured to drive the selected individual piezoelectric cooling elements.
Wireless Power System With Battery Charge Indicators
A wireless power system includes a wireless power transmitting device such as a wireless charging mat for charging devices such as a cellular telephone and an earbuds battery case. The earbuds battery case receives earbuds and charges the earbuds from a battery. The wireless charging mat supports bidirectional in-band communications between the cellular telephone and the earbuds battery case. The earbuds battery case provides the cellular telephone with information on the battery charge level associated with the battery in the earbuds battery case and a battery charge level associated with each earbud in the earbuds battery case. The cellular telephone receives battery charge level information through the wireless charging mat and displays corresponding indicators. The earbuds battery case has a visual output device such as a light-emitting diode that is illuminated to indicate that the earbuds battery case is being charged.
Mobile Terminal, Vapor Chamber and Preparation Method Thereof, and Electronic Device
A vapor chamber and a mobile terminal are provided. The vapor chamber comprises a first cover plate, a second cover plate, a housing including the first cover plate and the second cover plate, wherein the first cover plate and the second cover plate are connected to form a sealed cavity, a cooling medium, a capillary structure disposed in the sealed cavity, and a supporting structure extending from an inner surface of the housing to an internal space of the housing. A material of the first cover plate and the second cover plate is a high-strength composite material, wherein the high-strength composite material comprises a first material layer and a second material layer. The vapor chamber has light weight, small thickness and structural strength.
FLEXIBLE REGION OF INTEREST COLOR PROCESSING FOR CAMERAS
A method of camera processing including receiving a first image, determining one or more first automatic white balance (AWB) parameters for the first image, determining one or more second AWB parameters for a region-of-interest (ROI) of the first image, applying the one or more first AWB parameters to one or more of the first image or a second image, and adjusting the ROI of one or more of the first image or the second image based on the one or more second AWB parameters.
Porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane, gas-permeable membrane, and gas-permeable member
Provided is a porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane in which an absolute value of a difference in lightness between one principal surface and the other principal surface is 1.0 or more, where the lightness is lightness L* of CIE 1976 (L*, a*, b*) color space specified in JIS Z8781-4: 2013. The porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane may be colored black or gray. The porous polytetrafluoroethylene membrane provided can have properties with a reduced coloring-induced deterioration.
