ELECTRONIC DEVICE WITH KEYBOARD PROTECTION
Particular embodiments described herein provide for an electronic device, such as a notebook computer or laptop, that includes a circuit board coupled to a plurality of electronic components (which includes any type of components, elements, circuitry, etc.). One particular example implementation of the electronic device may include a first housing, a hinge, and a second housing. The second housing can be rotatably coupled to the first housing using the hinge. The second housing can include a first portion, a second hinge, and a second portion. The second portion can be rotatably coupled to the first portion using the second hinge. In an embodiment, the second portion can rotate over the keyboard and the second housing can rotate behind the display. In another embodiment, the second portion can rotate over the key-board and the second housing can rotate in front of the display such that only a portion of display is visible.
PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD OF PROVIDING HAPTIC FEEDBACK
A method for providing haptic feedback at a portable electronic device including a touch-sensitive display and a physical keyboard comprising depressible keys and touch sensors for detecting touches thereon, is provided. In response to detecting a first touch on the physical keyboard, which physical keyboard is moveable relative to the touch-sensitive display, between a first position in which the physical keyboard is exposed for use and a second position in which the physical keyboard is not exposed, wherein the first touch is associated with haptic feedback, first haptic feedback is provided to the physical keyboard. In response to detecting a second touch on the touch-sensitive display when the physical keyboard is in the second position in which the physical keyboard is not exposed, wherein the second touch is associated with haptic feedback, second haptic feedback is provided to the touch-sensitive display.

Disclosed are various embodiments relating to an electronic device that includes a key An electronic device may include a housing having a through-hole formed therein. A key may be exposed through the through-hole and configured to be pressed. A key switch may be located on a rear surface of the key, wherein the key structure may be configured to enable the key to be pressed and to detect the press of the key. Moreover, a structure provided on a lower portion of the housing may be able to bear a pressure exerted by a user when pressing the key in a direction opposite the housing. Further, a dummy detachably provided between the housing and the structure, wherein the dummy, when being attached, may support the key and the key switch such that both are capable of being pressed in the through-hole toward the direction of the structure.

In the first position, the second body portion is recessed within the cavity of the first body portion. An apparatus and system for a side actuator arrangement as well as a substrate, and method of manufacturing, for a side actuator arrangement. The apparatus includes a first part and a second part. The functional flip cover protective case comprising an integral flip cover attached a protective case; the flip cover includes a built in physical keypad device and a transparent viewing window on the front side of the flip cover when the flip cover is in closed position; wherein the flip cover further comprising a sensor to detect opening and closing actions; wherein the protective case may comprising a data/power connector, and/or a Bluetooth device, and/or a NFC (Near Field Communication) device for corresponding between the physical keypad and the smart phone device; wherein upon closing the flip cover, the physical keypad will be activated to take over the input controls of the smart phone device. In addition, the display output on touch screen of the smart phone device will be limited within the boundary of the transparent viewing window; wherein upon the opening the flip cover, the physical keypad will be deactivated and return the input controls to the smart phone device; wherein further comprising a software module to be installed in the smart phone device to correspondence with the censor and physical keypad of the flip cover.
