A system is provided that includes a first network interface for a first network type and a second network interface for a second network type that is different from the first network type. The system also includes at least one processor configured to cause the system to perform operations. The operations may include obtaining, from the first network interface, audio from a communication session with a remote device established over the first network and obtaining an indication of a communication device available to participate in the communication session and direct audio obtained from the communication session to a remote transcription system. The operations may also include directing the audio to the second network interface for transmission to the communication device, obtaining transcript data from the remote transcription system based on the audio, and directing the transcript data to the second network interface for transmission to the communication device.

A communication system and method for displaying text captions corresponding to voice communications between an assisted user's mobile wireless device and a separate hearing user's device includes at least one communication component configured to enable the appliance to communicate with a relay, a display, and a processor operably coupled to the at least one communication component and the display. The processor is configured to enable the assisted user to establish an association between the appliance and the mobile device, receive text originating at the relay, the text corresponding to a transcript of the hearing user's voice signal originating at the hearing user's device, and cause text captions corresponding to the received text to be displayed on the display.

DEVICE FOR COMMUNICATION WITH AN ANALOG TELEPHONE AND TELEPHONE INCORPORATING THE SAME
A device permits a conventional, analog telephone to connect to a smart phone to provide access to various smart phone features from the analog telephone. For example, the analog telephone can receive or initiate calls and send or receive texts and may provide a secure access point to home automation devices, including Amazon Alexa, Google Home, or the like. The device may be a stand-alone device that connects to an analog telephone or may be integrated into a telephone of any desired design or style. A method and system receive and forward a text message received at a landline phone number to a user associated with that landline phone number, wherein the receipt and forwarding includes forwarding the text message to a computer and/or mobile device associated with the user, wherein the text message is forwarded automatically in response to receipt of the text message at the landline phone number, receiving a response to the forwarded text message, wherein the response is formulated by the user on the computer or the mobile device and sent from the computer or the mobile device, and forwarding the received response as a text message to a phone number that sent the text message to the landline phone number, wherein the forwarded response text message indicates the landline phone number as a number sending the response text message.

The operations may include obtaining, from the first network interface, audio from a communication session with a remote device established over the first network and obtaining an indication of a communication device available to participate in the communication session and direct audio obtained from the communication session to a remote transcription system. The operations may also include directing the audio to the second network interface for transmission to the communication device, obtaining transcript data from the remote transcription system based on the audio, and directing the transcript data to the second network interface for transmission to the communication device.
