User-based privacy activation for audio play mode

A privacy system and method are provided for selecting an audio play mode in a mobile electronic communications device having a microphone, a loudspeaker and an earpiece speaker. The described technique in an embodiment includes retrieving data for replay to the user, determining based on a characteristic of the data or the user whether the data is private, and playing the retrieved data via the earpiece speaker if the data is private. Otherwise the retrieved data is played via the loud speaker.

Localizing Binaural Sound to Objects
20200329333 · 2020-10-15 ·

An electronic device identifies a location of a physical object that is away from a listener. The electronic device convolves sound so the sound externally localizes as binaural sound to the physical object. The sound plays to the listener through earphones so the listener hears the sound as emanating from the physical object.

Adjusting ambient sound playing through speakers in headphones

Headphones include one or more microphones that capture ambient sound in an environment of a user. The headphones play music from a smartphone and the ambient sound through speakers. An amplitude of the ambient sound playing through the speakers is adjusted in response to determining an atmospheric pressure in the environment or movement of the smartphone with the user.

Electronic device used for video conference

An electronic device including a main body, a driver module, and a plurality of expanded members is provided. The main body includes at least one image module. The driver module is movably disposed in the main body. The expanded members are disposed beside the main body and connected to the driver module, and each of the expanded members includes at least one of a radio module and a speaker module. The driver module is adapted to drive the expanded members to expand from a collapsed position to a use position, when the expanded members are located at the collapsed position, the expanded members are collapsed to the main body, and the expanded members are driven by the driver module to be expanded with respect to the main body and are moved to the use position.

Smartphone moves location of binaural sound

A smartphone includes a camera that takes a picture of an ear of a user and retrieves at least one head-related transfer function (HRTF) from a database based on the picture. A digital signal processor (DSP) processes the sound to generate binaural sound, and a transmitter transmits the binaural sound to earphones or headphones worn on a head of the user.

Smartphone-based telephone translation system

A smartphone-based telephone translation system includes a translation machine that starts a call translation process when the call translation is set to ON. The system detects an incoming call or dials, translates a voice signal to obtain a translation text for the ON call state. The voice signal of the caller is received and recognized. A voice signal is translated to obtain a translation text for the ON call state. The localized voice signal is recognized, using a TTS machine to obtain a reply voice signal and sent to the caller. The system performs voice recognition and text translation on the call voice, translates the language into localized language, and performs the function of calling between different languages in real time, so as to realize a telephone communication between two persons speaking different languages. The system supports communication with a hearing-impaired person or deaf-mute person.

WIRELESS EARBUD

An earbud includes a housing that includes a driver assembly positioned within the housing forming a front volume in front of the driver and a back volume behind the driver. An acoustic insert is positioned behind the driver assembly and attached to an interior surface of the housing such that it forms a bass channel that is routed from the back volume to a vent in the housing.

SYSTEMS, APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR PARTY LINE CALLS AMONG VOICE OVER INTERNET PROTOCOL (VoIP) TELEPHONES
20200280590 · 2020-09-03 ·

Devices, systems and methods are provided to support a party call with auto-joining function in a communication system for a distributed transport system that employs VoIP technology. A VoIP unit or end point acts as a conference bridge between an operator extension and other end points. A first end point makes a SIP call to the operator and multicasts a mix of its send audio and the received operator audio. Other end points first check for multicast traffic being received before making a SIP call to the operator and, if so, play out the received audio over its speaker and multicast its send audio. The end point initiating the call mixes this subsequent stream into a stream to the operator, effectively acting as the conference bridge to the operator. The other end points are responsible for mixing received multicast streams for their local speaker.

A sound signal processing device includes: a microphone terminal to which a sound signal derived from sound received by a microphone is input; a loudspeaker terminal from which a sound signal directed to a loudspeaker is output; a first input terminal to which a sound signal from another proximal-end device is input; a first output terminal from which a sound signal directed to the other device is output; a distal-end input terminal to which a distal-end sound signal is input via a network; a distal-end output terminal from which a sound signal directed to the network is output; and at least one processor configured to execute stored instructions to establish at least one signal path from at least one of the microphone terminal, the first input terminal, or the distal-end input terminal, to at least one of the loudspeaker terminal, the first output terminal, or the distal-end output terminal.

PORTABLE LISTENING DEVICE WITH SENSORS
