An apparatus for answering a phone call when a recipient of the phone call decides that it is inappropriate to talk, the apparatus including control means for sending a dedicated command, opening a voice conversation with a caller, putting the apparatus in a message mode and so answering the phone call, and typing a text message; a microphone that is muted after sending the dedicated command for the whole period that the apparatus is in the message mode; an earphone device for listening to the caller; a text-to-speech injection apparatus including a text-to-speech translation apparatus and a database of words for synthesizing the text message into a speech message and transmitting the speech message to the caller during the voice conversation; and a voice-message injection module for sending an alert voice message to the caller saying that the recipient is not talking, but is substituted by the text-to-speech injection apparatus.
System and method for providing voice communication from textual and pre-recorded responses
An approach is provided for detecting a voice call directed to a user. The approach involves presenting a user interface for interacting with the voice call, wherein the user interface includes a control option for selecting a pre-recorded word or phrase from the user; for generating a custom-created audio word or phrase from one or more phonemes pre-recorded by the user; or a combination thereof. The approach also involves interjecting the pre-recorded word or phrase, the custom-created audio word or phrase, or a combination thereof into the voice call.
Providing audio content to a device
The present disclosure describes receiving a trigger operation indication that content has been selected by a user device, and determining whether the content offers a recurring audio content data. The operation may also include retrieving a first audio content and transmitting the first audio content to the user device.
Methods, devices, and systems for transferring an ongoing call of a communication device using a portable communication device
Systems and methods for controlling communication systems for the hearing impaired are disclosed. A portable communication device requests control over a plurality of communication devices. The portable communication device connects to and controls the plurality of communication devices. The portable communication device includes a user interface that enables a user to transfer a call from a first communication device to a second communication device.
Interface between mobile device and computing device
An interface between mobile devices and computing devices, such as a PC or an in-vehicle system permits a user to use the better user interface of the computing device to access and control the operation of the mobile device.
DYNAMIC AGENT GREETING BASED ON PRIOR CALL ANALYSIS
A contact center, communication system, and method are disclosed. An illustrative contact center includes a conversational analysis engine that is applied to media exchanged between a customer and a first agent during a first interaction and determines a context of the first interaction. The illustrative contact center further includes a repository of greetings for a second agent and a greeting from the repository of greetings for the second agent is selectable based on the determined context of the first interaction. The illustrative contact center further includes a network interface that facilitates a presentation of the selected greeting to the customer when the customer is transferred from the first agent to the second agent.
CAMERA CAPABLE OF COMMUNICATING WITH OTHER COMMUNICATION DEVICE
A cellular phone is capable of telephone-calling with an external device, and includes an antenna by which to communicate with the external device; a lens; an image sensor that outputs an image signal; a display; a loudspeaker; and a processer. The processor controls the display to display an announcement of an incoming call from the external device after receiving a calling signal via the antenna, and in a case that the calling signal is received during operation of the image sensor in a moving image mode, the processor permits communication between the cellular phone and the external device via the antenna and using the loudspeaker and a microphone of the cellular phone after the announcement of the incoming call is displayed by the display and after the processor receives an instruction from an input device of the cellular phone to allow starting of the telephone-calling with the external device.
Apparatus and method for categorizing voicemail
The present disclosure relates to voicemail categorization and access. An apparatus, for example a PBX, is provided for categorizing voicemails. The apparatus is configured to store voicemail messages and to determine and store metadata associated with the voicemail messages. The apparatus allows searches of the stored voicemail messages to be performed using the associated metadata. A user interface may reside on a user device or be provided by the apparatus. The interface allows other user to search for voicemails using the metadata associated with them and subsequently displays information about the voicemails which match the search criteria.
