CONTROLLING ACCESS TO PROTECTED FUNCTIONALITY OF A HOST DEVICE USING A WIRELESS DEVICE
20180007558 · 2018-01-04 · ·

A wearable device can establish a verified session with a host device (e.g., by establishing that the wearable device is present in the vicinity of the host device and is currently being worn). The existence of such a verified session can be used to control user access to sensitive information that may be stored in or otherwise accessible to a host device. For example, the host device and/or application programs executing thereon can be configured to restrict a user's ability to invoke program functionality that accesses sensitive information based on whether a verified session with a wearable device is currently in progress.

IDENTIFYING MOBILE DEVICE LOCATION AND CORRESPONDING SUPPORT CENTER LOCATIONS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT SERVICES OVER A NETWORK
20180007506 · 2018-01-04 ·

A mobile device may receive updates, support and other data from a current data center agent platform. When the mobile device travels to another location the nearest data center agent may be different from the previous agent. A changeover determination must be performed prior to determining whether the new agent should be assigned to the mobile device. One example method of operation may include receiving current location information of the mobile device and identifying a present location of the mobile device and a current service center assigned to the mobile device. The method may also provide determining whether a new service center location at a remote location from the current service center location should be assigned to the mobile device based on predefined assignment criteria.

APPLICATION CUSTOMIZATION USING A CUSTOMIZATION FILE

Techniques and systems for receiving and using a customization file are provided, including a computing device, a method, or a computer-program product. For example, a method may include receiving a customization file that includes customized content for customizing a communication interface overlay. The method may further include accessing native application code and executing the native application code to run a native application. The method may further include accessing a compiled set of code that is separate from the native application code. The compiled set of code is accessible by the native application code. The method may further include executing the compiled set of code, wherein a default file of the compiled set of code provides a native communication interface overlay, wherein the native communication interface overlay is overlaid over a graphical interface of the native application, and wherein the native communication interface overlay allows communication with a resource of a third-party. The method may further include executing the received customization file, wherein executing the received customization file customizes the compiled set of code, and wherein the customized compiled set of code customizes the native communication interface overlay to provide a customized communication interface overlay.

INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE

An information processing method is provided for a mobile terminal. The method includes obtaining a first identity identifier assigned to a terminal by a network side; in response to loading the first identity identifier and, from a plurality of identity identifiers of the terminal, determining a second identity identifier as an identity identifier of the terminal in a first operation state; obtaining, based on the second identity identifier, information used for registering and connecting with a second communication network; establishing a data connection between the first identity identifier and the first communication network; and on the data connection established between the first identity identifier and the first communication network, registering with the second communication network using the information for registering and connecting with the second communication network.

ELECTRONIC TEST DEVICE DATA COMMUNICATION

Electronic test devices and methods include data transfer capabilities. In one implementation, an assay device includes wireless communication capabilities to send assay result decisions and/or values to a separate processing and display device such as a smartphone. In another implementation, light sources are modulated both for performing an assay and encoding and transmitting a result of an assay.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SELECTING SIM CARD

The present invention discloses methods and systems for selecting at least one SIM card for data communication at a wireless communication device which is capable of housing a plurality of SIM cards. When a switching condition is satisfied, the wireless communication device selects a second SIM card group, and disconnects one or more connections established using any non-second group SIM card. Non-second group SIM cards are SIM cards that are not in the second SIM card group. A selected SIM card from the second SIM card group is then used for data communications. The steps are repeated until (i) the switching condition is no longer satisfied, (ii) no more SIM cards selected from the second SIM card group can be used for data communications or (iii) no more connection is made using non-second group SIM cards

Triggering Actions With Mobile Messages
20180014167 · 2018-01-11 · ·

In one example, a mobile message device may create a message rule to establish a causal relationship between a messaging activity and a device activity or vice versa. A mobile message device may present a message rule user interface to the user to establish a message rule. The message rule user interface may receive from the user a message parameter describing at least one of a message format and a message content of a hypothetical mobile message received in a mobile messaging module. The message rule user interface may receive a response action directive describing a device action to be performed by the mobile message device in response to receiving an incoming mobile message matching the message parameter. The mobile message device may store a message target rule associating the message parameter with the response action directive. The mobile message device may receive the incoming mobile message matching the message parameter. The mobile message device may execute the device action in response to the incoming mobile message according to the response action directive.

Method for controlling mobile communication device, and mobile communication device

A method for controlling a mobile communication device using a user's distance specifying algorithm, the method comprises a first process of receiving an input image from a camera to generate first data; a second process of determining whether there is a candidate group that can be determined as a face using the first data and second data including a user's distance information; a third process of extracting, if there is a candidate group that can be determined as a face, from a plurality of third data including location information of the candidate group, fourth data having a minimum distance between a center of the first data and a center of the third data; and a fourth process of comparing the fourth data with a predetermined user's distance to determine whether it has a value within a tolerance range.
