DANGER DETECTION SYSTEM
A danger detection system is provided. The system includes a user computing device programmed to receive from a microphone of the computing device a signal indicating a gunshot-like sound and automatically determine if the gunshot-like sound is a gunshot. The user computing device is also programmed to automatically determine a location of the gunshot; and to automatically generate and send to a display of the user computing device a safety notification in response to determining if the gunshot is within a predetermined distance.
Speech Recognition Telecommunications System with Distributable Units
A speech recognition telecommunications system with distributable units. The system includes a primary unit and one or more secondary units, wherein the primary unit includes a processor, memory, a logic, a telecommunications transceiver configured to connect to a telecommunications network, and a secondary transceiver in communication with the secondary units. The secondary units are distributable throughout a structure and each include a transceiver, speaker, and a microphone for relaying received audio signals back to the primary unit. In operation, the primary unit receives a user's audio via its microphone or via transmission from a secondary unit. The logic then compares the user's vocal pattern to stored vocal patterns to confirm a user match. If there is a user match, then the logic compares the user's spoken command to a library of predetermined commands, wherein the processor executes the matching command from the library.
TACTILE USER INTERFACE
Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, and machine readable mediums which provide for an improved, tactile user interface. Rather than being limited to two dimensions (temporal patterns and intensities), the disclosed tactile communications utilizes additional dimensions. These added dimensions allow for the tactile interface of the present disclosure to convey significantly more information than the vibration notifications previously used.
METHOD OF CONFIGURING LOW-POWER WIRELESS NETWORK AND SYSTEM USING THE SAME
A system for configuring low-power wireless network is disclosed. The system includes at least one wireless device configured to be used in a low-power wireless network and be assigned to a new network identifier and a new device identifier; a network coordinator configured to manage the low-power wireless network using the new network identifier and the new device identifier; and a mobile terminal configured to search for the wireless device and assign the new network identifier and the new device identifier to the searched wireless device and transmit the new network identifier and the new device identifier to the network coordinator.
NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM AND PORTABLE DEVICE
A non-transitory computer-readable medium having a computer program readable by a computer of a portable device connectable to an image input device and image output device and including a memory storing external programs activated by the computer program, the computer program causes the portable device to perform: receiving a user operation on a first screen including first objects corresponding to the external programs; determining the designated program when the first object is designated; when the designated program has a first function of executing processing for the input data, instructing the image input device to execute an input operation and performing first post-processing; and when the designated program has the second function of enabling a user to designate the output data, performing pre-processing and controlling the image output device to execute output operation for the output data.
User Peripheral
A peripheral device for use with a user terminal, the peripheral device comprising an interface for connecting to the user terminal; at least one of a light and/or a speaker; and control logic for interfacing with the user terminal in order to interact with a communication client application running on the user terminal, which enables a voice or video call service that is conducted over a packet-based network from the user terminal using the communication client application. The control logic is configured to receive a notification from said communication client application of an event or state in the voice or video call service, and to provide to a user an indication of the event or state by providing an output from the light and/or speaker; wherein this indication is provided while the user terminal is in a locked or sleep state.
Mobile Device with Unified Media-Centric User Interface
A mobile device with a unified media-centric user interface is provided. In one embodiment, the user interface contains one or more of the following features: a unified view of the home screen, navigating between various storage locations, dragging items to collection/folder, pinch and zoom feature, stats shown for each file type, storage usage view from the app, manual and automatic backup, and magic move (keeping a low-resolution version of the original files while moving). Other embodiments are possible, and each of the embodiments can be used alone or together in combination.
METHOD, APPARATUS, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR LOCAL CONTROL THROUGH INTERMEDIATE DEVICE
An example embodiment includes an apparatus receiving a message from a proximate device via a short-range communication connection, including ID information associated with the device; compiling a request message including the ID and information identifying the apparatus; transmitting the request message to a remote server for accessing control to the device; receiving information associated with a user interface or control interface for interacting with the device based on remote server access control, the received interface being based on the information included in the transmitted request message; compiling an interface for enabling a user of said apparatus to interact with the device based on the received information, the compiled interface including access rights for interacting with the device via remote server access control, depending on the information included in the transmitted request message; and interacting with the device via the remote server access control using the compiled interface.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CAUSING A TARGETED REACTION BY A SUBJECT WHEN CAPTURING AN IMAGE
A method for capturing an image obtained with a device includes using the device so that the device accesses a camera of the device, provides a user interface on the device, displays a near real-time image obtained by the camera within the user interface, provides a plurality of selectable device actions adapted to cause a targeted reaction by a subject to the device, triggers a device action based on a selection by a user from the plurality of selectable device actions and captures an image obtained with the camera subsequent to triggering the device action.
Device, method, and graphical user interface for editing an audio or video attachment in an electronic message
A method is performed at a multifunction device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface. User selection of an audio or video file to be sent in an electronic message is detected. In response to detecting a first input by the user, an audio or video file editing interface is displayed. The editing interface comprises: a time bar, a user-adjustable begin-edit icon, and a user-adjustable end-edit icon. The distance between the user-adjustable begin-edit icon and the user-adjustable end-edit icon is constrained to be equal to or less than a distance that corresponds to a predefined maximum allowable size for the file. In response to detecting a second input by the user on the touch-sensitive surface, at least one of the begin-edit icon and the end-edit icon is adjusted in the audio or video file editing interface. The audio or video file is edited to a shorter.
