Volume control for mobile device using a wireless device
A wearable device can facilitate automatic adjustment of a volume control and/or other settings of a host device based on properties of the ambient environment. For example, when a host device generates an audible alert, a wearable device can sample the ambient sound to detect a distinct contribution corresponding to the audible alert; if the contribution is outside acceptable levels, the wearable device can notify the host device to adjust the alert volume and/or other alert characteristics. Adjustments to host-device settings can also be made based on comparing audio signals collected by the host device and the wearable device.
Systems and methods for providing functionality based on device orientation
Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can determine a first orientation in which a computing system is positioned. A first functionality can be provided when the computing system is positioned in the first orientation. It can be determined that the computing system becomes positioned in a second orientation. A second functionality can be selected, out of a set of functionalities, based on a current state associated with the computing system. The second functionality can be provided when the computing system becomes positioned in the second orientation.
Information processing system, information processing apparatus, device control method, and medium
An information processing system includes at least two terminals connected with a first network; and an information processing apparatus (IPA) connected with a second network, and with the first network via a relay device. The first terminal obtains device information about devices on the second network, receives a selection among the devices, and transmits a request for outputting data on the selected device to the IPA. The second terminal obtains the device information, receives the selection of the device, transmits a request for obtaining data on the selected device to the IPA, and obtains the data output by the selected device. The IPA obtains the requests for the outputting and the obtaining, respectively, requests the selected device to execute the outputting and the obtaining, receives the data provided by the selected device, to provide it to the second terminal.
Method of implementing GPS based extended chime and special escort mode in security panel
A system is provided that includes a security system that protects a secured geographic area, a geographic location outside of the secured area of an authorized human user of the security system saved in a memory of the security system, and a processor of the security system that tracks activity of the authorized user by geographic location outside of the secured area and generates an alert upon detecting that a difference between the tracked geographic location of the authorized user and saved location exceeds a threshold value.
Gallery of videos set to an audio time line
A machine includes a processor and a memory connected to the processor. The memory stores instructions executed by the processor to receive a message with audio content and video content. Audio fingerprints within the audio content are evaluated. The audio fingerprints are matched to known audio fingerprints to establish matched audio fingerprints. A determination is made whether the matched audio fingerprints correspond to a designated gallery constructed to receive a sequence of videos set to an audio time line. The matched audio fingerprints and corresponding video content are added to the audio time line. The operations are repeated until the audio time line is populated with corresponding video content to form a completed gallery with video segments set to audio segments that constitute a complete audio time line. The completed gallery is supplied in response to a request.
Wireless communication connecting system and method
A wireless communication connecting system includes a at least one wireless access point, a wireless electronic device, a position obtaining module, a position determining module, and a controlling module. A rotatable directional antenna is installed in the wireless electronic device. The position obtaining module determines first relative positions between each wireless access point and the wireless electronic device. A position determining module determines angles of relative positions between the directional antenna and each wireless access point according to a position information of the directional antenna and the first relative positions. The controlling module controls the directional antenna to point to the strongest-signal wireless access point. A wireless communication connecting system method is also disclosed.
Digital transmission system to collect in real time a plurality of disparate time/date related substantiation events to confirm the identity of a signatory in conjunction with the affixing of an electronic signature on a mobile device
A real time digital transmission system that, in order to substantiate the identity of a signatory that has affixed an electronic signature to a device carried by the signatory to a plurality of disparate remote geographical locations, (1) transmits data defining time/date related events immediately on the occurrence of the events, the events including article events, location-derived events, visual events, audio events, optical machine-readable data events, and signature events, and (2) creates an evidentiary record of each event including the time and date of occurrence of each event.
Assisted cellular device activation
A user device installs a third-party companion application with a primary software development kit (SDK) for cellular service activation on a wearable device, the wearable device including a third-party device application having an embedded SDK for the cellular service activation. The user device receives user input to initiate the cellular service activation for the wearable device and solicits, via the primary SDK, user input for account settings associated with the cellular service activation. The user device obtains, via the primary SDK and from a network device, activation parameters, associated with the wearable device, for the cellular service activation. The user device forwards, via the primary SDK and to the embedded SDK of the wearable device, the activation parameters, which the embedded SDK uses to request cellular activation.
In-vehicle mobile device distracted driver control
Various arrangements for restricting mobile device usage are presented. A mobile device may collect movement and location sensor data. The mobile device may determine it is being operated within a moving vehicle based on the sensor data. The mobile device may use interaction data indicative of a user's interactions with the mobile device while the mobile device is being operated within the operating vehicle. An in-vehicle mobile device usage profile may be created based on the sensor data and the collected user interaction data. The in-vehicle mobile device usage profile may be analyzed to determine that a user of the mobile device is currently an operator of the moving vehicle. In response to determining that the user of the mobile device is currently the operator of the moving vehicle, access to one or more functions of the mobile device may be restricted.
Selective filtering of mobile device movement data
Processes for searching and identifying mobile devices of interest are provided based, at least in part, on movement of the multiple mobile devices. The process includes, for instance, obtaining movement data of multiple mobile devices, and receiving a specified movement pattern of interest. The movement data of the multiple mobile devices is compared against the specified movement pattern of interest, and based on the comparing, a data structure is generated at least identifying one or more mobile devices of the multiple mobile devices with a movement data closest to the specified movement pattern of interest. In enhanced embodiments, the movement pattern of interest may be a user-specified travel path or a user-specified pattern of zone movements, for instance, within a venue or within a geographic region.
