Enhanced call downgrade reason indicator
A method of signaling a reason for a downgrade of an enhanced call to an audio-only call. User equipment (UE) can engage, via a telecommunication network, in an enhanced call including audio content and additional content. The UE can generate a downgrade message that requests a downgrade of the enhanced call to an audio-only call that includes the audio content without the additional content. The downgrade message can include a downgrade reason indicator identifying whether the UE is automatically downgrading the enhanced call or whether the UE is instead downgrading the enhanced call due to user instructions. The UE can send the downgrade message to the telecommunication network.
Method and system for providing backup push-to-talk function in stuck microphone condition
A method and system provide a backup push-to-talk (PTT) function for a transmitter in a stuck microphone condition. The method determines whether a stuck microphone condition exists in the transmitter, and if the stuck microphone condition exists, the method alerts a user that the stuck microphone condition exists. The method then enables a backup PTT interface for the transmitter such that a backup PTT button is available to the user to activate the backup PTT function. The method alerts the user when the backup PTT function is activated, and sends a message to a receiver after the backup PTT button is engaged by the user.

Fault routing of an emergency communication
Aspects of the disclosure relate to routing of an emergency communication under fault conditions. Routing can be implemented in a packet-switching (PS) network that provides voice service. For a network node of the PS network, availability to route the emergency communication through a specific emergency service routing number (ESRN) can be determined and, in response to the network node being unavailable, administrative data associated with the ESRN can be accessed. In addition, an identifier associated with the administrative data can be updated (e.g., created or modified) with data indicative of the device that originated the emergency communication. The administrative data and the resulting identifier can be delivered to a second network node that can route the emergency communication to an emergency service network.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR COMMUNICATION CONTROL
Embodiments include methods, systems, and computer program products for communication control. One such embodiment receives a telephone call from a plain old telephone service (POTS) device. The telephone call includes a telephone number corresponding to a destination device. Next, a ringing tone is provided to the POTS device and the telephone number is transmitted to a proxy agent. A message is received from the proxy agent. The message indicates that a telephonic connection has been established between the proxy agent and the destination device. Responsive to receiving the message from the proxy agent, a real-time communications connection between the POTS device and the destination device is created by providing answer signaling for the received telephone call to the POTS device.

Switch device for use in gateway equipment and gateway equipment
A switch device for use in a gateway equipment and a gateway equipment comprising the switch device are suggested. The suggested switch comprises a Foreign Exchange Station (FXS) port configured to be connected to a telephone set, a Foreign Exchange Office (FXO) port connected to communicate analog voice signals with an external network, and a Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) unit configured to communicate digital data signals with the external network and enable a VOIP call using the digital data signals. The switch device comprises a switch configured to, when the gateway equipment is power down, connect the FXS port to the FXO port. The switch device also comprises a power unit configured to generate a work voltage from the analog voice signals at the FXO port to provide a power supply to the switch.
