Fire-fighting foam concentrate
A method of fighting a fire, the method includes aerating a firefighting foam composition to form an areated firefighting foam; administering the aerated firefighting foam to a fire or applying the aerated firefighting foam to a surface of a volatile flammable liquid; wherein: the firefighting foam composition includes a sugar component comprising a monosaccharide sugar, a sugar alcohol, or a combination thereof; a polysaccharide thickener; a surfactant component comprising an anionic surfactant, a zwitterionic surfactant or a mixture of any two or more thereof; a water-miscible organic solvent; and at least about 30 wt. % water.
IMPROVED ANTIFREEZE FOR FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS
Antifreezes, which include glycerol or a mixture of alkylene glycol and glycerol, water and an organic acid salt, are provided. Exemplary antifreezes include at least about 45 vol. % water, greater than 48 to about 55 vol. % glycerol, 0.1 to 1.75 wt. % of a salt of an organic acid having one or more carboxylic acid groups, and optionally, one or more buffers. Wet sprinkler systems containing the antifreeze, methods of controlling a fire using the antifreeze and methods of preventing a wet sprinkler system from freezing are also provided.
AQUEOUS FIRE EXTINGUISHING AGENT
Provided is an aqueous fire extinguishing agent, and more particularly, an aqueous fire extinguishing agent which includes a non-electrolyte material, an anti-freezing agent, a silicone surfactant, and water and is adaptable to electrical fires. The aqueous fire extinguishing agent of the present invention is applicable to electrical fires and thus can effectively replace conventional powder fire extinguishers or gas-based fire extinguishers, and is eco-friendly in that it is harmless to the human body and the environment and does not cause secondary pollution due to powder or gas after use.
ENVIRONMENTALLY-CLEAN BIODEGRADABLE WATER-BASED CONCENTRATES FOR PRODUCING FIRE INHIBITING AND FIRE EXTINGUISHING LIQUIDS AND FOAMS FOR FIGHTING CLASS A AND CLASS B FIRES
Environmentally-clean biodegradable water-based biochemical concentrates for producing fire-inhibiting and fire-extinguishing liquids and foams for fighting Class A and/or B fires. The concentrates are formulated using generally safe food-grade chemicals, for foaming agents, surfactants and dispersants, and fire inhibiting extinguishing agents, without the use of phosphates and ammonia compounds. Automated proportioning and mixing devices and systems can be used to mix the biochemical concentrates with proportioned quantities of pressurized water so as to produce fire inhibiting and extinguishing water streams, as well as finished firefighting foam materials, to both inhibit and extinguish fire involving Class A and/or B fuels.
Fire fighting water additive
A polymeric fire fighting water additive composition containing an aqueous emulsion of acrylic copolymer, and an emulsifier. The acrylic copolymer is preferably polyacrylamide. The acrylic copolymer has a polymeric weight of 5,000,000-50,000,000 Daltons or between 12,000,000-15,000,000 Daltons and is negatively charged. A surfactant acts as an inverter. The aqueous emulsion of acrylic copolymer is present in a range 35% to 70% by volume in the concentrate and the emulsifier is present in a range 10% to 70% by volume.
Fire extinguishing agent and fire extinguishing method
A fire extinguishing agent comprising a metallocene and a dispersion medium, the metallocene being dispersed in the dispersion medium.
Fire-fighting foam composition
A method of fighting a fire includes aerating a firefighting foam composition to form an aerated firefighting foam; administering the aerated firefighting foam to a fire or applying the aerated firefighting foam to a surface of a volatile flammable liquid; wherein: the firefighting foam composition includes a sugar component, which comprises monosaccharide sugar and/or sugar alcohol; anionic surfactant; zwitterionic surfactant; organic solvent comprising glycol ether and/or glycol solvent; polysaccharide thickener; and at least about 40 wt. % water; wherein the composition is substantially free of any amine oxide or nonionic surfactants; and the composition is substantially free of fluorinated compounds.
Fire extinguishing agent and fire extinguishing method using same
The objective of the present invention is to provide an extinguishing agent which has excellent fire-extinguishing property and which exhibits high safety to the environment and human body. The fire extinguishing agent of the present invention is characterized in comprising a biosurfactant.
Fire extinguishing composition
A fire extinguishing composition is described. The fire extinguishing composition comprises water in an amount of ≤75.0% by weight; a fire extinguishing salt in an amount of ≥15.0% by weight; and a film forming agent. Uses of the fire extinguishing composition and a fire extinguisher comprising the fire extinguishing composition are also described.
Self-expanding fire-fighting foam solution
A method of manufacturing a self-expanding fire-fighting foam solution is disclosed. Here, the method can include purging air from a container, wherein the purging is performed via flowing an inert gas into the container, such that substantially inert environment is created within the container. In addition, the method can further include dispensing or filling a pre-determined amount of foam concentrate into a container, dispensing or filling a pre-determined amount of water into the container, and mixing the foam concentrate and water within the container, wherein the mixed foam and water within the inert container provide the self-expanding fire-fighting foam solution and having a pH ranging from about 6.8 to 7.8 moles per liter.
