Apparatus and method for handling eSIM profile for iSSP device

A method and apparatus for providing a communication service by installing an eSIM profile even in a terminal to which an iSSP is applied. The method comprises: detecting whether information is input information for eSIM profile download input information from a terminal to which an iSSP is applied, and determining whether the terminal supports the same. Collecting eSIM bundle information of the iSSP by the terminal; selecting an eSIM bundle to be used by referring to a condition designated by the terminal from among the collected eSIM bundles; if there is no bundle to be used or when it is determined that no eSIM bundle is used among existing eSIM bundles, generating an eSIM bundle by the terminal itself or providing an eSIM bundle via communication with the terminal and a server; and on the basis of eSIM bundle information, downloading and installing an eSIM profile package.

Systems and methods for automatically authenticating communications with a calling device

Systems and methods for automatically authenticating an incoming call are disclosed. In one implementation a method for automatically authenticating an incoming call includes receiving a call from a calling device. The call includes an identifier associated with the calling device. The method further includes receiving, separately from the call, authentication data associated with a device or a user, determining, using the identifier and the authentication data, that the authentication data is associated with the same calling device that initiated the call, verifying the authentication data, and based on a result of the verification, determining that the call is initiated by an authenticated device or user.

TELECOMMUNICATION CALL MANAGEMENT AND MONITORING SYSTEM WITH VOICEPRINT VERIFICATION
20210266401 · 2021-08-26 · ·

Disclosed is a secure telephone call management system for authenticating users of a telephone system in an institutional facility. Authentication of the users is accomplished by using a personal identification number, preferably in conjunction with speaker independent voice recognition and speaker dependent voice identification. When a user first enters the system, the user speaks his or her name which is used as a sample voice print. During each subsequent use of the system, the user is required to speak his or her name. Voice identification software is used to verify that the provided speech matches the sample voice print. The secure system includes accounting software to limit access based on funds in a user's account or other related limitations. Management software implements widespread or local changes to the system and can modify or set any number of user account parameters.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CUSTOMIZING INMATE COMMUNICATION NOTIFICATION
20210234701 · 2021-07-29 · ·

The present disclosure provides details of a system and method for customizing an inmate communication notification. Such a system provides an inmate different customized notification messages to be played to different called parties. The system includes a list of different contacts, and each of the contacts can be associated with one or more contact numbers. Each contact number is associated with one or more customized notification messages. The customized notification messages include terms, phrases, and sentences that draw the called party's attention and sound familiar to the called party. The customized notification messages include customized text files, audio files, and video files. An inmate chooses one or more customized notification messages to be played to a called party.

Enabling user access to a cloud-based application

A method and system is disclosed for registering a user to a cloud-based application, for enabling user access to a cloud-based application. It may comprise receiving a registration request for user access to the cloud-based application, the registration request comprising an identifier associated with a telephone apparatus. The method may further comprise initiating a communication to the telephone apparatus using the identifier, and detecting receipt of the communication at the telephone apparatus to establish a telephony connection. The method may further comprise, subsequent to detecting receipt of the communication to establish a telephony connection, registering the user to the cloud-based application for enabling subsequent access.

System and method for determining spoofing of at least one identifier
11082556 · 2021-08-03 · ·

A system and method for determining spoofing of at least one identifier are described, the identifier being intended for the use of a communication device, during communication between a first communication terminal and a second communication terminal. The method can be implemented by a device for determining spoofing of at least one identifier. The method can include receiving a signaling message of the communication from the first communication terminal and intended for the second communication terminal, the signaling message including at least one identifier and at least one first item of certification data, obtaining at least one second item of certification data on the basis of the at least one received identifier, comparing the at least one first item of certification data with said at least one second item of certification data, and transmitting at least the message to the second terminal on the basis of the result of the comparison.

VALIDATING AUTOMATIC NUMBER IDENTIFICATION DATA
20210258421 · 2021-08-19 ·

Verifying caller identification information is described. A query to verify a first communications connection associated with an observed caller ID is received. Using a second communications channel, a message to a device associated with the observed caller ID is transmitted. A response to the message is received. The message is evaluated to perform a security determination. The security determination is provided as output.

PREVENTING FOREIGN INITIATED FRAUDULENT OR UNAUTHORIZED USE OF CALLING SERVICE

Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing prevention of foreign initiated fraudulent or unauthorized use of calling service. In various embodiments, a computing system might receive, from a first user device associated with an originating party, a request to access a first account of a calling system and an access code. Based on a determination that the received access code is valid, the computing system might determine whether the first user device associated with the originating party is located in a foreign country. If so, the computing system might determine whether a database contains a configurable flag indicating that international access is not allowed for the first account. If so, the computing system might initiate one or more first actions. If not, the computing system might provide the first user device with access to the first account of the calling system.

SECURE VIDEO VISITATION SYSTEM

Video conferencing in a controlled environment facility entails significant security concerns. These concerns are even more prevalent in a system that permits residents of such facilities to communicate via their own personal devices. Therefore, in order to alleviate these concerns and provide a secure system in which a resident is able to make video calls using their personal device, a kiosk unit is provided to which the personal device must be linked for completing a video call. When making the video call, the camera and display on the personal device are disabled, and all video data is captured and displayed by the kiosk unit. The link between the kiosk unit and the personal device facilitates the exchange of the image information for transmission to the outside party, or display to the user. By providing a fixed camera, and disabling the personal device camera, security can be maintained while permitting video calling services.

20210195017 · 2021-06-24 · ·

A method for detecting of fraudulent calls is provided. The method includes initiating, by an origin node, a call to a target node, and generating, by the origin node, a first call data record (CDR) for the call, wherein the CDR includes at least one call parameter of the call recorded by the origin node upon termination of the call. The method also includes generating, by the origin node, a first secure CDR that contains the first CDR, sending, by the origin node, the first secure CDR to the target node, and generating, by the origin node, a fraud notification based on a second secure CDR received from a first node and the first secure CDR.
