METHOD FOR MANAGING A PLURALITY OF MEDIA STREAMS, AND ASSOCIATED DEVICE
20210044643 · 2021-02-11 ·

A method is provided for managing a plurality of media flows to be reproduced by a calling device prior to the finalization of the establishment of a communication. The method is implemented by the calling device prior to the finalization of the communication. The method includes sending a request for the creation of the communication to at least one called device. For each media stream of the plurality of media streams, a first degree of priority associated with the media stream is searched for in a message received in response to the request for creation of the communication. A media stream to be played is selected from the plurality of media streams, according to second degrees of priority associated with the media streams of the plurality of media streams, the second degrees of priority obtained according to the result of the search.

Certain aspects of the disclosure are directed to routing decisions implemented in response to VoIP telephone calls. According to a specific example, in response to the VoIP telephone calls, a first set of one or more documents are identified and executed to make routing decisions for the VoIP telephone calls. A second set of one or more documents are then identified based upon an association with the routing decisions. The second set of documents identify data to be retrieved from data sources. In response to the data, call control functionality is provided for the VoIP calls.

Method and apparatus for defeating computer-generated, telemarketing, and robo-calls to phones
10708422 · 2020-07-07 ·

A system for defeating computer-generated, telemarketing, and Robo calls is provided. An originating switch receives a call from a calling party and determines a call route to a called party. The call is received at a destination switch and the profile of the called party is assessed. If the called party is not a subscriber to the system, the call is then passed or connected to the called party. If the called party is a subscriber to the system, a digital audio track is played back to the calling party, the audio track indicating a call failure that can be detected by the source of computer-generated, telemarketing, and Robo calls. The signals are of such a nature that the calling party would determine that the number is not a valid number and remove it from a calling list. If a called party is not a subscriber, the call simply continues to the called party without interjection of any digital audio track. The system also may require the entry of dual-tone multi-frequency signals by the calling party to differentiate from those calls to be terminated.

DETECTION OF SIGNAL TONE IN AUDIO SIGNAL
20200184995 · 2020-06-11 ·

A technique for detecting a signal tone in an audio signal is disclosed. A determination is made as to whether a peak modulation frequency in the audio signal is in a specific range or not to obtain a determination result. A measure regarding a modulation spectrum of the audio signal is calculated. The measure is calculated based on at least components of the modulation spectrum above a specific limit of modulation frequency. By using the determination result and the measure regarding the modulation spectrum, a judgement is done as to whether the audio signal contains a signal tone or not.

Mobile-Device-Based Carrier Voicemail Reduction

A mobile device having phoning capabilities also include capabilities to optionally reduce an operating load on a centralized mobile carrier voicemail system. The user of the mobile device is presented with a notification of an incoming call and is provided with an opportunity to answer the call in a traditional fashion, to optionally engage the centralized mobile carrier voicemail system, or to instead have the mobile device manage options relating to locally obtaining a voicemail from a maker of the incoming call. When the mobile device manages obtaining a voicemail from the maker of the incoming call, the voicemail is originally obtained and is stored locally, without use of centralized carrier resources at the time of recording the voicemail, and the mobile device can also play the recorded voicemail at any time without use of the centralized carrier resources.

MANAGEMENT OF MEDIA CONTENT ASSOCIATED WITH CALL CONTEXT ON MOBILE COMPUTING DEVICES

A method may include receiving an indication of a call from a caller who is not a participant in a sender-controlled media (SCM) platform to a recipient who is a participant, using caller ID information to gather content pertaining to the caller (e.g., from data stores of the platform and public number search information), generating a SCM data structure based on the gathered content, and delivering the SCM data structure to a call-originating device. In another aspect, a method may include gathering call context for an active call, and developing an understanding of one or more of a call intent, a call participant, and a participant action based on content exchanged between the caller and recipient. Content suggesting algorithms may then determine candidate items of content relevant to the participants of the call for presentation to at least one of the caller and the recipient during the call.

Methods, systems, and products for social alerts

Alerts are processed based on social networks. A person's contact information, as an example, may be associated with a social network. Each different social network may also have its own custom ringtone or other alert. Calls, texts, and other electronic messages may thus processed with the alert of the social network.

Ring-back tone setting method, ring-back tone service system and ring-back tone playing method
10523811 · 2019-12-31 · ·

Provided is a method for setting a ring-back tone played while a second wireless communication terminal attempts to make a call to a first wireless communication terminal. The first wireless communication terminal selects a sound source to be used as a ring-back tone, and selects the second wireless communication terminal in which the sound source is to be set. According to a request of the first wireless communication terminal, a message is transmitted to the second wireless communication terminal. The message is displayed on a screen of the second wireless communication terminal. The second wireless communication terminal downloads the sound source contained in the message or downloads the sound source from a pre-determined server connected to the second wireless communication terminal through a URL. The second wireless communication terminal sets the downloaded sound source to a ring-back tone played while the second wireless communication terminal attempts to make a call to the first wireless communication terminal.

Method and system for providing ringback tone service and ringtone service in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) call service

Provided is a method, a system, an apparatus, and/or a non-transitory computer readable medium for providing a ringback tone and a ringtone using a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) call service. A call method may provide sound sources directly edited by users as a ringtone or a ringback tone in a VoIP call service.

METHOD FOR PLAYING MULTIMEDIA CUSTOMIZED RINGING SIGNAL AND CUSTOMIZED ALERTING TONE, AND APPLICATION SERVER
20240089369 · 2024-03-14 ·

A method for playing a multimedia customized ringing signal and customized alerting tone includes: receiving, by an application server, an initial call request from a calling terminal, and sending the initial call request to a called terminal; receiving a provisional response to the initial call request from the called terminal; determining customized ring signal media resource information based on the provisional response; sending a first media session update message that carries the customized ring signal media resource information to the called terminal; receiving a first response from the called terminal; and playing the multimedia customized ringing signal based on the first response, where the initial call request includes SDP information of the calling terminal, and the first response includes a result of customized ringing signal media resource negotiation between the application server and the called terminal.
