In one aspect, a method used to determine services in a network is provided. For a plurality of devices, information pertaining to a location of the respective device is stored in a location information item. A location information item providing a location of a user is generated. At least one of the plurality of devices to be used by the user based on the generated location information item and to the stored location information items is automatically selecting; a status report is transmitted to a device used by the user, with the user being offered the use a service via the status report, the offered service effected by the selected device.

An embodiment of the system for publishing events of a telephony application to a client includes a call router that generates events from the telephony application and an event router that manages the publication of events generated by the call router and that manages the subscription to events by clients. The system can be used with a telephony application that interfaces with a telephony device and an application server.

The present disclosure relates to a pre-5.sup.th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4.sup.th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). Embodiments herein achieve a UE for managing a user plane operation in a wireless communication system. The UE includes a user plane management unit coupled to a memory and a processor. The user plane management unit is configured to receive a signaling message from a gNodeB. Further, the user plane management unit is configured to determine whether the signaling message includes control information comprising one of a PDCP re-establish indication and a security key change indication. Further, the user plane management unit is configured to perform the at least one operation for at least one data radio bearer based on the determination.

A personalized content system enables a user with a communications device to convert and/or passively receive pre-selected content from multiple resources. A communications device has hardware and software to provide input and transmission to convert content from any form of media. The converted content is created by retrieving a digital copy of a digital record associated with it, and processing the digital copy for at least a web-based personalized application. Conversion is based on input of a code such as a telephone number, server program address, and a set of and/or range of characters. The transmission is communicated to at least one server that recognizes the code, the originating telephone number associated with the communications device, the device identifier associated with the communications device, and combinations thereof. The server retrieves a digital record and processes content and outputs based on user input, a user and/or program profile, and combinations thereof.

In an example embodiment, a solution is provided that decouples an IVR component from a voice media server, which allows the voice media server to be geographically placed in a location most beneficial to keep digital voice file transmission to a minimum (thus saving bandwidth), while allowing the IVR component to be geographically located anywhere without negatively impacting the bandwidth usage. An additional benefit is that by decoupling the IVR component from the voice media server, the IVR component can be implemented in a way that lets it work with multiple redundant voice media servers simultaneously, allowing one of the voice media servers to become unavailable without impacting service.

The present invention provides a system for managing and disabling phone ring tone profiles, the system comprising: a storage system comprising (a) a plurality of ringtones adapted to be activated when an incoming call is made; (b) at least one list of identified callers to execute at least one data processing system, said at least one data processing system comprising: an acquiring module operable to read an identifier of said incoming call or an incoming message; a detecting module operable to detect if the identifier exists in said at least one list in the system, to determine the caller from said list, and to detect how many incoming calls have been made within a predetermined period of time and a disabling module adapted to either activate or disable said ringtones.

An information display device is an information display device for allowing content to be output in a plurality of languages, and includes a management information acquisition unit, a priority determination unit, and an image generator. The management information acquisition unit acquires management information including language information including information indicating a language used by sojourners in an area where the information display device is used, and sojourn information including information indicating a sojourn situation of the sojourners in the area. Based on the acquired management information, the priority determination unit determines priority of the languages used in the information display device. The image generator generates a display image in accordance with the priority.

An embodiment of the system for publishing events of a telephony application to a client includes a call router that generates events from the telephony application and an event router that manages the publication of events generated by the call router and that manages the subscription to events by clients. The system can be used with a telephony application that interfaces with a telephony device and an application server

A method of managing personal security allows a portable computing device to provide a user with a variety of automated security detection and responses. The portable computing device uses integrated hardware to assess an emergency situation from spoken distress cues, audible danger cues, medical distress cues, physical trauma cues, and manually-inputted cues. The portable computing device also provides the user with a variety of responses to the emergency situation, which include a contacting-help response, a supplemental-help response, a communal-help response, an immediate alarm response, a delayed alarm response, an informing response, an increasing-visibility response, and a decreasing-visibility response.

A subscriber to a universal point of contact service designates a preferred point of contact at which a communication initiator, such as a telephone caller, can contact the subscriber. Such an initiator desiring to contact the subscriber uses the subscriber's email address to establish a communication session with a device associated with the subscriber's preferred point of contact. The subscriber's email address is input to an initiating device, preferably a telephone or facsimile machine, using an entry device capable of entering an email address. A requestor unit, receiving the email address, locates a repository of the subscriber's point of contact information, and requests that information. The repository sends the point of contact information the subscriber has designated as preferred, and the requestor unit uses that information to control a telephone switch to establish a communication session between the initiating device and the subscriber's preferred point of contact device.
