A method is provided for notification of an event relating to execution of a procedure for processing a communication session to be supported by a communication device belonging to a set of devices associated with a user. The method includes: reception of a subscription request from a so-called subscriber terminal belonging to the aforementioned set, requesting subscription to an event notification service for at least one so-called event that may occur on a device in the set; reception of information indicating an occurrence of at least one so-called event on a device in the set, other than the subscriber terminal; and sending an event notification to the subscriber terminal, signalling the occurrence.

Method and system for providing advanced address book functionality in a universal plug and play home network environment

Disclosed are a method and apparatus for sharing contacts entries at a Telephony Server (TS), the method including receiving a request from a Telephony Control Point coupled to the TS in a Universal Plug and Play home network to share at least one contact element associated with a contact entry with at least one recipient, retrieving the at least one contact element from a network address book in a Wide Area Network server connected to the TS or from a local address book in the TS, and sharing the at least one contact element with the at least one recipient.

System and method for modifying or disabling the ringtone for an incoming call based on the existence or nonexistence of previous calls from the same caller
09967396 · 2018-05-08 · ·

The present invention provides a system for managing and disabling phone ring tone profiles, the system comprising: a storage system comprising (a) a plurality of ringtones adapted to be activated when an incoming call is made; (b) at least one list of identified callers to execute at least one data processing system, said at least one data processing system comprising: an acquiring module operable to read an identifier of said incoming call or an incoming message; a detecting module operable to detect if the identifier exists in said at least one list in the system, to determine the caller from said list, and to detect how many incoming calls have been made within a predetermined period of time and a disabling module adapted to either activate or disable said ringtones.

Conveying device information to application server servicing computing device associated with a communication

When authorized, a user of a computing device, such as a smart phone, may place a communication using an originating number that is different from the number assigned to the computing device. An IMS application server that handles requests for the computing device associated with the originating number is notified when the telephone number assigned to the computing device is used by a different computing device. The notification to the IMS application server might include, but is not limited to device information, location information, and the like. After being notified of the communications terminated by other computing devices that are associated with the device number, accurate call records may be provided regarding the communications involving the originating number.

Controller for the intelligent interconnection of two communication networks, and method of use for same

A caller ID based call routing feature. A processing system in the public switched telephone network (PSTN) receives first identifying information for identifying the source of a telephone call and associates additional information stored in a memory with the first identifying information. The additional information may then be transmitted to the subscriber via the Internet for display. Another feature is a branch calling feature where the subscriber may program a processing system within the PSTN to forward an incoming call to two or more end units (e.g., telephones) simultaneously. If the call at an end unit is answered, answer supervision signaling is transmitted back to the processing system which then terminates all other calls. The processing system then connects the calling party to the subscriber. The branch calling may be made for any combination of local, long distance, and cellular telephone numbers.

Cordless telephone device, cordless telephone system, and data transfer method

Slave device information transmitting unit of the present invention transmits slave device information to a mobile phone. Slave device transfer data receiving unit receives slave device transfer data from the mobile phone, and stores the slave device transfer data in storage unit. Destination slave device determining unit extracts destination slave device information from slave device transfer data stored in storage unit, and selects a cordless telephone slave device which is a destination of the slave device transfer data, based on destination slave device identification information which is set in the destination slave device information. Slave device transfer data transmitting unit transmits slave device transfer data to a cordless telephone slave device selected by destination slave device determining unit.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING USER PLANE OPERATION IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
20180083688 · 2018-03-22 ·

The present disclosure relates to a pre-5.sup.th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4.sup.th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). Embodiments herein achieve a UE for managing a user plane operation in a wireless communication system. The UE includes a user plane management unit coupled to a memory and a processor. The user plane management unit is configured to receive a signaling message from a gNodeB. Further, the user plane management unit is configured to determine whether the signaling message includes control information comprising one of a PDCP re-establish indication and a security key change indication. Further, the user plane management unit is configured to perform the at least one operation for at least one data radio bearer based on the determination.

METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE IN MIXED MANAGED AND UNMANAGED NETWORK ENVIRONMENTS WITH GOVERNANCE AND REGULATION CONSTRAINTS
20180041641 · 2018-02-08 ·

This invention makes media routing decisions within a distributed communications system that spans both managed and unmanaged networks, while taking into account a large set of input metrics. It is meant to optimize for quality of experience while maintaining restrictions posed by companies and organizations who need to adhere to strict policies, either internal or external such as governance and regulation.

Management of online interactions
09883043 · 2018-01-30 · ·

The presently disclosed subject matter includes a system and method for managing interactions between two or more users. In response to a request of a caller to establish an interaction with one or more recipients, the preferences of the caller and the recipients are considered in a process which determines which interaction application is recommended to be used in the requested interaction. A user can be associated with a respective user profile which includes information with respect to the user's communication preferences. The recommendation is generated based on preferences of the users participating in the interaction. In case a conflict is identified between the preferences of different users which are about to participate in the interaction, an arbitration process is executed in which the conflict is resolved.

Voice message exchange

Disclosed is a voice message exchange system and method for improving communication between an inmate and a third party by enabling the inmate to leave a message when a call is not answered and further allowing the third party who receives the message to reply with a message to the inmate. Additionally, outside parties that meet the institution's requirements can leave messages for inmates at any time. The present invention can be used as an add-on to legacy inmate call management systems or incorporated internally into an inmate call management system. The system also provides monitoring, controlling, recording, and billing means.
