ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR RECEIVING AND FORWARDING MESSAGES
An electronic device capable of forwarding a message is provided. When the electronic device receives a message and determines that a user is not around, the electronic device transmits the received message to a second electronic device that the user is around. Therefore, the user will not miss important messages. A method for forwarding messages is also provided.
CALL MOBILITY
A method has steps for receiving at a call center implemented in a network, a first call from a caller using a first telephony-enabled device, connecting the received first call to an agent in the call center, creating and storing in a data repository at the call center a live call record associating an identity of the caller or a device of the caller with the agent to whom the first call is connected, receiving, while the first call is active, a second call from the same caller using a second telephony-enabled device, querying the data repository and discovering the live call record, routing the second call to the same agent to whom the first call is routed, and terminating the first call, but leaving the live call record in place.
Call transfer using session initiation protocol (SIP)
A system is provided for providing communication event routing and transfer capability in a multi-site communication-center environment. The system utilizes a presence protocol application and a routing application for determining availability of an agent or system and for setting up the transfer from a point of transfer on a network to a destination of transfer on the same or connected network. In a preferred use the presence protocol application is shared by communication-center sites cooperating in the transfer and routing of events and the presence protocol enables at least one event-handling process normally performed by the routing application.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING A MULTI-CHANNEL COMMUNICATION SERVICE
A multi-channel communication services uses an object-oriented approach to processing communications. The multi-channel communication service is capable of recording conversations that a calling party has with one or more called parties in one continuous recording, even when multiple called parties are conferences into a call, and even when the calling party is transferred between multiple different called parties. In some embodiments, recording may include two or more tracks of recorded data. In that instance, the audio and/or video originating from the calling party is recorded in a first track, and the audio and/or video originating from all of the called parties is recorded in a second track.
Distribution of ephemeral extension to communication sessions
To allow more non-enterprise communication endpoints to communicate without having to allocate an extension for every non-enterprise communication endpoint, a request is received to communicate with an enterprise communication system from a non-enterprise communication endpoint. A temporary password is associated with a dynamic communication address (e.g., from a group of dynamic extensions). The temporary password and the dynamic communication address are sent to the non-enterprise communication endpoint. The non-enterprise communication endpoint registers with the communication system using the temporary password and the dynamic communication address. A communication session is established between the non-enterprise communication endpoint and an enterprise communication endpoint using the dynamic communication address. The temporary password is then disassociated from the dynamic communication address, thus freeing up the dynamic communication address for use with another non-enterprise communication endpoint.

APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CALL NOTIFICATIONS TO ACTIVE COMMUNICATION DEVICES
An apparatus, system and method for call notifications to active communication devices are provided. At an apparatus comprising a processor and a communication interface, a call for a first device is received via the communication interface. When is determined that a second device is active, a notification of the call is transmitted to the second device.

Multiple device and multiple line connected home and home monitoring
Systems, devices, and techniques for multiple device and multiple line enabled computing devices and computing appliances are described herein. A device number can be assigned to a computing device and can be unique to the computing device. A plurality of alias numbers can be provided to the computing device and enabled for use by the computing device. Alias numbers can be enabled on multiple computing appliances, such that a user can transfer voice or video calls between devices using the alias numbers. Further, monitoring components in a home environment, for example, can be associated with one or more alias number so that security alerts can be provided to the various computing devices and computing appliances associated with the alias numbers.
Method for controlling communication and electronic device thereof
A method of operating a first electronic device for improving call quality is provided. The method includes the operations of transmitting call data received through a first call between the first electronic device and a third electronic device to a second electronic device, using short-range wireless communication connected with the second electronic device, if a communication abnormality of the short-range wireless communication takes place, connecting a second call between the first electronic device and the second electronic device, generating a third call by merging the first call and the second call, and releasing a call connection of the first electronic device from the third call.
