METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRESENTING MULTIMEDIA CONTENT
A method and apparatus are provided for presenting multimedia content to a caller and/or a called party in association with a telephone call. Content may be presented pre-ring (before the called party's telephone rings), in-call, and/or post-call. Content presented to a party may be related to another party participating in the call or may be related to a third party (e.g., an advertiser that paid for the ability to have its content presented). Presented content may be actuable, to allow a caller to change the destination of a call, take advantage of an offer presented to him or her, redeem a coupon, schedule or queue a subsequent call, etc. To find a desired destination party, a caller may initiate a manual or automatic search of his or her local contacts (on his telephone) and/or a central or global directory or contact list.
System, apparatus, and method for automated delivery of digital information
Methods and system for the automated delivery of digital information are disclosed, included a system comprising at least one computer processor and one or more non-transitory memory storing a set of instructions, that when executed by the at least one processor cause the at least one processor to receive a telephone call from a telephonic device identified with a phone number and associated with a caller; determine the phone number associated with the telephonic device without input from the caller; receive an indicator, the indicator being a request for digital information to be transmitted to the telephonic device; and transmit digital information to the telephonic device based on the determined phone number.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENABLING DYNAMIC MULTI-MODAL COMMUNICATION
A system and method that includes receiving a messaging request that includes communication intent parameters and a set of communication destinations, wherein the messaging request is authenticated as a request of a first account; dynamically transforming messages according to individual communication destinations, wherein for the set of communication destinations: selecting a communication mode according to communication intent parameters, transforming content of the messaging request, and transmitting transformed content to a destination endpoint in the selected communication mode.
Transcribing media files
A computer-implemented method to provide transcripts of multimedia messages is disclosed. The method may include receiving, at a server, a message with an attached media file. The message may be directed to a user device. The server may be configured to receive and direct messages to the user device. The method may further include separating the media file from the message before the message is provided to the user device. The method may also include generating, at a transcription system, a transcript of audio data in the media file. The method may also include providing the message to the user device for presentation of the message on the user device. The method may further include providing the transcript and the media file to the user device for presentation of the transcript and the media file on the user device.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTENT PRESENTATION IN ASSOCIATION WITH A TELEPHONE CALL
A method and apparatus are provided for presenting multimedia content to a caller and/or a called party in association with a telephone call. Content may be presented pre-ring (before the called party's telephone rings), in-call, and/or post-call. Content presented to a party may be related to or selected by another party participating in the call, or may be related to or selected by a third party (e.g., an advertiser that paid for the ability to have its content presented). Presented content may be actuable, and allow a caller to change the destination of a call, take advantage of an offer presented to him, redeem a coupon, schedule or queue a subsequent call, etc. To find a desired destination party, a caller may initiate a manual or automatic search of his local contacts (on his telephone) and/or a central or global directory or contact list.
MOBILE EMERGENCY RESPONSE NETWORK
A mobile emergency response network may be utilized to respond to emergencies. Emergency response resources may be selected and deployed through the use of network communications between user equipment and network elements. In an example configuration, a mobile emergency response network may receive emergency data, determine an emergency is occurring, determine a resource requirement for the emergency, identify a mobile device associated with a user who meets the resource requirement, and send a request to the mobile device.
Voice communications with real-time status notifications
A system, apparatus, graphical user interface and methods are provided for conducting electronic voice communications with status notifications. A user of a first portable device executing a communication application selects a multi-function control that automatically initiates an audio recording, which is automatically sent toward another participant of an active communication session when the control is released. The same multi-function control may be used to transmit a textual message. A representation of the recording is displayed on the user's device, with an indicator that changes appearance when the other participant plays the recording. In addition, when one user initiates an audio recording that will be automatically sent to another user, the other user's device is advised of the initiation of recording and displays that status for the other user.
Message routing using location routing numbers
Various embodiments provide for a way of routing messages using location routing numbers. More specifically, some embodiments can route calls on different legacy networks by using features of existing telecommunication policy and databases. For example, a location routing number can be registered in a number portability administration center database. The location routing number may be in a native number block of a facility carrier and a company registering the location routing number in the number portability administration center database may not be the facility carrier. The destination switch of the facility carrier can be programmed to accept traffic associated with the location routing number. As a result, components of the network can route the message for the company to a destination switch of the facility carrier.
