Method and apparatus for communications between carriers
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, responsive to determining that a second device is associated with a first carrier network, obtaining a first record associated with a called number of the second device from a first carrier network telephone number mapping equipment server of the first carrier network, and transmitting a first internet protocol address for the second device from the first record to a terminating call session control function server of the first carrier network to initiate the internet protocol call session. Responsive to a second determination that the second device is associated with a second carrier network, obtaining a second record associated with the called number according to a pointer to a second carrier network telephone number mapping equipment server of the second carrier network, and transmitting a second internet protocol address for the second device derived from the second record to a session border controller of the first carrier network to initiate the internet protocol call session. A system and method for providing multi-services within a communication network according to various exemplary embodiments can include storing, in a database of a computer, user-defined sets of rules and instructions for providing multi-services to end user devices connected to a communication network comprising a Hybrid Fiber-Wireless (HFW) network having policy management capabilities. The system and method can receive, at one or more processors, the user-defined sets of rules and instructions from a plurality of end users via a plurality of end user devices. The system and method can configure a virtual network for each end user within the communication network using the policy management capabilities based on the user-defined sets of rules and instructions provided by each end user. The user-defined sets of rules and instructions define provisioning and delivery of resources and services provided by the communication network to the end user.

Apparatuses of user equipment (UEs) for end-to-end coordination of voice over cellular data network communications. An apparatus of a UE includes one or more data storage devices and one or more processors. The one or more data storage devices are configured to store delay budget information pertaining to end-to-end delivery of a real-time transport protocol (RTP) stream sent from a remote UE to the UE. The one or more processors are configured to generate an application layer message including the delay budget information, the application layer message to be transmitted to the remote UE to enable the remote UE to request, from a cellular base station servicing the remote UE, additional air interface delay based on the delay budget information.
System, Network, Device and Stacked Spectrum Method for Implementing Spectrum Sharing of Multiple Contiguous and Non-Contiguous Spectrum Bands Utilizing Universal Wireless Access Gateways to Enable Dynamic Security and Bandwidth Policy Management
A system and method in various embodiments implements a virtual spectrum band stacking technique facilitating spectrum sharing by converting and combining spectrum bands consisting of several different RF channels, common air interfaces, and radio channel protocols in the radio frequency channel domain to form IP Virtual Radio Channels (IP-VRCs) in the packet data domain. This virtual spectrum stacking technique combines the transmissions of contiguous and non-contiguous RF channels with differing physical layers into IP-VRCs. This technique enables simultaneous parallel high-speed wireless transmission; virtual radio channel hopping for enhanced security; and customized security schemes for different IP-VRC Groups. The deployment of the combination of IP-VRC Groups; Universal Small Cell Base Stations; and Universal Wireless End-Point Devices allows the aggregation of all available spectrum bands for use within a building environment. Some benefits of this deployment include expansion of spectrum utilization, service quality, security, applications and transmission throughput for wireless end-point devices.

Method and apparatus for effecting a voice communication between user terminals connected via a communication network include displaying a menu of country options to a user and receiving a number in local form. Formatting rules are recalled for a destination country selected by the user from the country options. A country prefix for the destination country is prepended to the number in accordance with the formatting rules to generate a formatted number. The formatted number is supplied to a client installed at the user terminal for effecting the voice communication using the formatted number.
AUTOMATED COMMUNICATIONS RESPONSE SYSTEM
In one embodiment, a system provides for end-user control over the automatic recognition of communication situations by detection of unique telecommunication event characteristics and the consequential responses to those situations by invocation of related programmatic responses. The system allows an end user to specify various patterns of telecommunication event characteristics that describe various situational aspects of incoming communications, such as the timing and originator of voice calls, the content of, timing of, and author of chat messages, etc., as well as appropriate sets of programmatic response actions to be performed in response to those communications, such as initiating conference calls, sending chat messages, routing calls to other users, etc. The system monitors incoming communications, matches characteristic patterns to recognize the situations, and then invokes the matching response actions, thereby automating many functions of the communication system that previously would have had to be performed manually.
Methods and nodes for enabling a peer-to-peer teleconference
Methods and nodes for enabling a teleconference involving multiple peer nodes in a P2P network (502). A first peer node (500) appoints a subset of the peer nodes to act as Floor Control Peers, FCPs, (504) in a floor control overlay by handling floor requests from peer nodes to make input to a floor in the teleconference. The first peer node (500) creates a tree structure (506) of the appointed FCPs which is distributed to the P2P network and can be accessed by a joining peer node to discover a primary FCP in the tree and send floor requests to the primary FCP. A floor chair function (508) is also created in the floor control overlay maintaining a floor record (508a) with information about floor utilization which can be provided to the FCPs. Thereby, joining peer nodes are enabled to join the teleconference and find respective primary FCPs in the floor control overlay based on the tree structure, and to make input to the at least one floor of the teleconference depending on the information in the floor record. In this way, the teleconference is handled by the appointed FCPs and does not require any centralized components for floor control.
METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING CALL AUDIO DATA AND APPARATUS
Embodiments of this application provide a method for transmitting call audio data and an apparatus, applied to a first electronic device, the method including: establishing a call with a peer electronic device in response to a call operation, where a second electronic device is an input and output device of sound signals during a call, and the first electronic device and the second electronic device are in a multi-screen collaboration mode; and storing call audio downlink data transmitted by the peer electronic device in a first PCM device, transmitting the call audio downlink data in the first PCM device to the second electronic device, storing call audio uplink data transmitted by the second electronic device in a second PCM device, transmitting the call audio uplink data in the second PCM device to the peer electronic device.

Method and system for securely authorizing VoIP interconnections between anonymous peers of VoIP networks
A peering authority or settlement clearinghouse can be used to control access, collect session accounting information, and provide financial settlement of interconnect or session fees among anonymous Internet Protocol (IP) peers or networks. The addition of peering policy criteria, such as price and quality of service, to peer to peer route discovery mechanisms enable a trusted intermediary, such as the settlement clearinghouse, to authorize acceptable interconnection or peering sessions between anonymous IP peers. Any financial settlement transactions which result from the peering sessions may be subsequently executed by the settlement clearinghouse.
