A videoconferencing system includes a codec configured to generate one or more acknowledgement signals each time a predefined action or event occurs, and a remote control in communication with the codec for controlling the codec and for receiving the one or more acknowledgement signals generated by the codec. This application discloses a method for establishing a call connection, a first terminal, a server, and a storage medium. The method includes: obtaining, by a first terminal, a second vocoder list of a second terminal, the second vocoder list including vocoders supported by the second terminal and with corresponding priorities; determining, by the first terminal, a first vocoder with the highest priority among vocoders that exist in both a first vocoder list of the first terminal and the second vocoder list, the first vocoder list including vocoders supported by the first terminal and with corresponding priorities, and the priorities of the vocoders being positively correlated with audio frequencies in encoding and decoding of the vocoders; and requesting, by the first terminal by using the first vocoder, to establish a first call connection to the second terminal.

A communication method supports Enhanced Voice Services (EVS) codec performed by a communication terminal apparatus. The method includes performing negotiation to use an EVS codec for communication between a communication terminal apparatus and a counterpart terminal, using an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) signaling including one of a session description protocol (SDP) offer and an SDP answer, and performing negotiation to specify one or more audio-bandwidths of input signals in Hertz (Hz) or kilohertz (kHz) for the EVS codec. In a communication session after the codec negotiation session, the processor causes the receiver to receive a signaling for changing an audio-bandwidth of an input signal to the EVS codec from a network node, changes the audio-bandwidth of the input signal to the EVS codec to another audio-bandwidth without changing the EVS codec based on the signaling, and causes the transmitter to transmit encoded data in the changed audio-bandwidth.
