A gateway device includes a call handling equipment (CHE) listener interface, an Internet Protocol (IP) interface, a provisioning engine, and a message parsing engine. The CPE listener interface forms a communication channel with a CHE and receives call event data from the CHE. The IP interface communicates with a cloud-based processing system. The provisioning engine receives, from the cloud-based processing system via the IP interface, instructions for parsing data from a data output format of the CHE into a consistent data format of the cloud-based processing system. The message parsing engine parses the call event data received from the CHE via the CHE listener interface, and formats the call event data according to the consistent data format. The gateway device transmits the formatted call event data to the cloud-based processing system via the IP interface.

The audio bridge unit converts page and/or party audio line(s) to multicast channel(s). The audio bridge unit analog interfaces for its respective page and/or party lines, and each analog interface is assigned to an independent multicast channel on which it will transmit and receive full duplex audio between an analog page/party station and one or more IP-based page/party stations. The audio bridge unit provides the ability to configure the multicast group, port and Time to Live (TTL) setting for each of the analog channels associated with the page and/or party lines.

The server conducts the call by controlling: the virtual client to communicate with the given client, via the social media server; and the virtual client to communicate with a communication device associated with the directory number, via the call server. The server may also facilitate exchange of status updates between a given client of the social media server and the call server. The server may also facilitate calls between respective clients of different social media servers.

In one example a first wireless signal is received in a first radio frequency spectrum using a first antenna exterior to a building. The first wireless signal is associated with a first wireless protocol. The first wireless signal is converted into a first intermediate signal associated with a coaxial protocol. The first intermediate signal is transmitted to an interior of the building using a coaxial cable. The first intermediate signal is converted into a second signal associated with a second wireless protocol. The second signal is then transmitted in a second radio frequency spectrum using a second antenna interior to the building. The second signal is transmitted using the second wireless protocol.

If so, a second control node (128) of the first network (101) selects a point of interconnect (114, 120) to the second network (112), considering a capability information characterizing the first control node (124). Therefore the session invitation may be routed in an efficient way from the first network (101) to the second network (112).
