Wireless communication system for performing combined service between terminals having different communication environments
A method for transmitting information in a wireless communication system and a wireless communication terminal supporting the method, are discussed. In one embodiment, when an application server sends to a receiving terminal a specific message for checking radio environment information or a message including a radio environment capability, the receiving terminal having received the message may send a response message with its own radio environment information to the application server, such that the radio environment information related to the receiving terminal can be sent to the sending terminal after analyzed by the application server.
Apparatus, system, and method for notifying a mobile station of an incoming circuit switched call during a packet switched session
Apparatus, system, and method for notifying a mobile station of an incoming circuit switched call during a packet switched session. During the packet switched session, a mobile station may receive a call notification of the circuit switched call. The call notification may be received via a packet switched network associated with the packet switched session. Additionally, the call notification may identify a calling party. In response, an indication of the circuit switched call may be displayed to a user on a display of the mobile station. This indication of the circuit switched call may identify the calling party. Additionally, the indication may be displayed while maintaining the packet switched session. In response, the user may provide input to the mobile station regarding whether to accept the circuit switched call. Based on this input, the mobile station may accept or reject the circuit switched call.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR NON-VOICE EMERGENCY SERVICES
A method, device, and system for a reporting process. A home monitoring device may be equipped with a camera or some type of sensor. The home monitoring device may generate data based on input from the camera or sensor. A reporting device may receive the data from a home monitoring device. The reporting device may assess this information to determine if an event has occurred. The reporting device may send a message including the data based on the determination. The reporting device may establish a multiway communication between the home monitoring device, the user interface, and the reporting device.
Packet-Switched Telephony
A system and method for providing packet-switched telephony service. The system provides call control, signaling, and/or delivery of voice, video, and other media in substantially real time. One embodiment of the system includes a call client application on a user device, and a call server located at a packet-switched telephony service provider. The call server is preferably operable to communicate with the call client in a non-native protocol and with the gateway in a native protocol.
Systems and methods for outgoing call redirection
Systems and methods for redirecting calls are provided herein. In some embodiments, a method for redirecting calls may include receiving a first call request from a first user device via a first telephony service provider network to establish an off-net call with a second user device registered on a second telephony service provider network, determining that the first user device is associated with an account of the second telephony service provider network based on a communication identifier of the first user device included in the first call request, and sending a notification message to the first user device indicating that the off-net call may be established as an on-net call over the second telephony service provider network.
Social Networking and Network Connectivity
Social networking is used to enhance content delivery to mobile devices. Sometimes a mobile device lacks network connectivity, such as when the mobile device is off or offline. Content cannot be sent to the mobile device when lacking network connectivity. A social network, however, may be retrieved for interim storage of the content. When the mobile device lacks network connectivity, the content may be routed to a member device of the social network. The member device stores the content until the mobile device resumes network connectivity. The member device may then send or forward the content to the mobile device.
INTERACTIVE SYSTEM COMBINING AUTOMATED VOICE MECHANISM WITH VISUAL FEEDBACK MECHANISM AND INTERACTIVE METHOD THEREOF
An interactive system combines an automated voice mechanism with a visual feedback mechanism. A first terminal device and a telecommunications server mutually transmit messages through a public switched telephone network. The first terminal device can send an input message to the telecommunications server and receive a voice feedback message from the telecommunications server. The telecommunications server can generate a processing message based on the input message and transmit the processing message to an information management server which based on the processing message's content, through an internet sends a forward message to an information distribution server which based on the forward message's content, sends a control message to a second terminal device. The second terminal device transmits a request message to a picture content management server according to the forward message to obtain a picture feedback message returned by the picture content management server. Accordingly, a user can simultaneously have voice and visual guidance for choice-making.
Methods and apparatus for provisioning and using IP clients which can be arranged according to groups and share a common telephone number
Methods and apparatus for allowing users in a group, e.g., family members, to share a telephone number while using different devices, e.g., IP devices, are described. The methods and apparatus allow for users in a group to obtain individual presence information for members of the group by making a single request for presence information corresponding to members of the group. In some embodiments, in response to the single request, the requesting device will be supplied with individual presence information for each member of the group to which the request corresponds. The presence information may be received in individual communications, e.g., one individual message providing presence information on a user of the group. Alternatively presence information for the individual members of the group may be included in a single message that is sent to the requesting device.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR NON-VOICE EMERGENCY SERVICES
A method and apparatus for performing non-voice emergency services (NOVES) between a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a public safety answering point (PSAP) is disclosed. A NOVES session may be initiated by sending a NOVES initiation request message that includes information relating to the NOVES capabilities of the WTRU, and information relating to an emergency situation. The information relating to the NOVES capabilities of the WTRU may include an indication of whether the WTRU supports a fake power-off mode, or whether the WTRU supports PSAP control. Other methods are disclosed that include a method for a PSAP combining a multiple NOVES sessions, and a method for handing over a NOVES session having multiple media streams.
