Remote access control

A system that allows a user to access a secured area by confirming location of the user near the secured area and receipt of an access word by the system. A user in possession of a mobile device may be detected at the entrance to a secured location. The system can select a question asking for a passcode corresponding to certain access to the secured location. The question can be spoken to a user through a loudspeaker at the secured location. The user's spoken response can be processed by the system, for example using keyword spotting, to determine if the proper access word is included. If it is, the system can grant access to the secured area.

Methods and systems for granting access to a building are disclosed. The system includes a telephone entry system associated with the building, a processor in communication with the telephone entry system, a non-transitory computer readable medium. The non-transitory computer-readable medium includes one or more programming instructions that when executed by the processor, cause the processor to receive a request including an access code for access to the building code, determine whether the access code is valid, and transmit to the telephone entry system associated with the building a sequence of dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) tones to cause the telephone entry system to grant access to the building in response to determining that the access code is valid.

DOORBELL COMMUNITIES

Doorbells can send data to each other to enable a first doorbell user to warn a second doorbell user regarding a suspicious visitor. A first user can indicate a first trait of a visitor via a first remote computing device. The first user can create a user group to enable the members of the user group to use their doorbells to take pictures of suspicious visitors and to send the pictures of the suspicious visitors to other members of the user group.

Doorbells often include a button to enable visitors to ring a chime to summon building occupants. In some embodiments, doorbells include a camera to take pictures of visitors. In several embodiments, doorbells include covers that are light filters. These light filters can cover infrared light sources such as infrared light emitting diodes. The light filters can pass infrared light while blocking visible light. In several embodiments, a front portion of a camera assembly fits through a hole in a light filter. Light filters can help secure camera assemblies and can form a portion of a doorbell's outer housing.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF PRESENTING APPROPRIATE ACTIONS FOR RESPONDING TO A VISITOR TO A SMART HOME ENVIRONMENT

A method of presenting appropriate actions for responding to a visitor to a smart home environment via an electronic greeting system of the smart home environment, including detecting a visitor of the smart home environment; obtaining context information from the smart home environment regarding the visitor; based on the context information, identifying a plurality of appropriate actions available to a user of a client device for interacting with the visitor via the electronic greeting system; and causing the identified actions to be presented to the user of the client device.

Intercom system and station

A second intercom station when activated activates camera means to take a picture of a user and sends the picture to a first intercom station in an MMS and automatically and substantially simultaneously attempts to connect via a voice call to the first intercom station. The first intercom station displays the picture and substantially simultaneously receives the voice call connection attempt from the second intercom station when the MMS is received. The first intercom station comprises means to reject or accept the voice call. If the voice call is accepted then two-way voice communication between the first and second station is enabled, and if the voice call is rejected then two-way voice communication between the first and second station is not enabled.

Techniques are described for enabling a service administrator to respond to a detected doorbell press at a property when an authorized user is unavailable to respond. In some implementations, a determination that a doorbell press has been detected at a property is made. Video data collected by a doorbell device of the property is obtained in response to determining that the doorbell press has been detected at the property. Sensor data collected by one or more sensors of a monitoring system located within the property is obtained in response to determining that the doorbell press has been detected at the property. A present security risk for the property is determined based at least on the obtained sensor data and the obtained video data. A communication session between the doorbell device and a server system associated with the monitoring system of the property is established in response to determining the present security risk for the property.

GATE OPENING METHOD AND DOOR UNLOCKING METHOD USING PORTABLE TERMINAL NETWORK ADDRESS

A gate opening method includes: a step (S8) of transmitting a gate opening signal for making a request for opening of a gate, which is configured to restrict entry into a predetermined space, to the gate by using an IP address unique to a mobile terminal associated with a user; a step (S9) of determining whether or not to allow the user to enter the predetermined space based on a ticket management table and the IP address of the mobile terminal in response to reception of the gate opening signal; and a step (S11) of controlling the gate so that the user is able to enter the predetermined space in response to a determination that the user is allowed to enter the predetermined space. The ticket management table includes a plurality of pieces of network address information indicating a plurality of IP addresses unique to a plurality of mobile terminals.
