Training Optimization of Multiple Lines in a Vectored System Using a Prepared-to-Join Group
20220209819 · 2022-06-30 ·

A method for initialization of a group of customer premises equipment devices (CPEs) during a training that registers capabilities of the CPEs is disclosed, wherein at least one CPE registers late to the training and cannot be registered. The method includes determining capabilities of the CPEs during a joining phase of the training, wherein it is determined whether a CPE device is capable of employing vectoring and placing in a hold status the at least one CPE that registers late by keeping a line active that is coupled to the at least one CPE. The method further includes providing another joining phase after the joining phase to register the at least one CPE that registers late.

SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND STORAGE MEDIA FOR TESTING LOCAL LOOPS OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORKS

Automatic testing/analysis of local loops of telecommunications networks includes obtaining bits-per-tone data for a local loop of a telecommunications network and generating a bit value string from the bits-per-tone data. The bit value string is then analyzed to determine whether it includes a bit pattern indicative of an impairment of the local loop. Further approaches for automatically testing local loops of telecommunications networks include obtaining attenuation data for multiple tones carried by the local loop and determining whether the attenuation data falls below thresholds for providing a service using the local loop.

With the current initialization procedures defined in the VDSL and ADSL standards, even though the xDSL system could operate in Showtime in an impulse noise environment where symbols are being corrupted, the transceivers would not be able to reach Showtime because initialization would fail due to initialization message failure. Through the use of an improved initialization procedure for communication systems, operation in environments with higher levels of impulse noise is possible.

Partial echo cancellation duplexing

Methods, circuitries, and systems for transmitting data upstream between a first device and a second device and downstream between the second device and the first device are disclosed. A method includes determining an upstream crosstalk effect for an upstream channel and determining a downstream crosstalk effect for a downstream channel. The crosstalk effect includes near end crosstalk from a third device that is non-co-located with respect to the first device and the second device. A data rate of an upstream transmission or downstream transmission is adjusted based on the upstream crosstalk effect and the downstream crosstalk effect.

A method for operating a first access service depends on the presence of a second access service. The method includes conducting at least one measurement by the first access service and determining based on the at least one measurement whether or not a power spectral density used by the first access service is adjusted.

Securely transmitting data during an audio call

Sharing data by defining a data encoding table, maintaining a data record database, defining a data encryption code, providing the data encryption code with an outgoing call, receiving an audio response including encrypted data, decrypting the encrypted data, and updating the data record database according to the data.

Carrier aggregation with switchable impedance and reconfigurable network selection

Described herein are systems configured for carrier aggregation. Systems include a multiplexing circuit having a filter assembly, switching circuit with a switching path, and a switchable impedance. The filters can be designed so that when operated simultaneously (e.g., during multi-band operation) the same inductance can be used allowing the switching network to switch in a particular inductance into the path. The described systems can include an inductance that is coupled to an output port so that when operating in single-band mode, the different paths share the same inductance. Relative to other solutions, the described systems can improve performance (e.g., reduce insertion loss), reduce the number of components in the associated module, reduce manufacturing costs, and the like.

Data traffic-aware dynamic vectoring

A method employing traffic-aware vectoring for transceiving data between a network side entity defining a network side, and at least two nodes defining a subscriber side, via a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication channel, over a plurality of subcarrier frequencies, the method comprising: determining an allocation that allocates each of said subcarrier frequencies for preceding with either one of a steady-state precoder, and at least one dynamic precoder; monitoring downstream data traffic from said network side entity toward said at least two nodes; and constructing said at least one dynamic precoder to optimize a bit-rate of said downstream data traffic, according to said monitoring, and said allocation; wherein said at least one dynamic precoder is configured to change with varying said data traffic conditions.

Methods, devices and systems of supporting discontinuous operation in communication systems using vectoring

Methods, devices and techniques are disclosed where vectoring is adapted to lines becoming inactive and active, for example in a discontinued operation. In some embodiments, the vectoring is modified based on already present coefficients.
