INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An information processing system transmits and receives sound data through a switching equipment. The information processing system includes: a transmitting end image forming apparatus that has a facsimile function to transmit communication sounds through the switching equipment; a receiving end image forming apparatus that has a facsimile function to receive the communication sounds through the switching equipment; a controller that generates a sound recording start command to start a recording of the communication sounds, and transmits the sound recording start command to the receiving end image forming apparatus; and a sound recorder that starts the recording of the communication sounds in the receiving end image forming apparatus when the receiving end image forming apparatus receives the sound recording start command.
AUTOMATED REAL TIME INTERPRETER SERVICE
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods that aid users with hearing and/or speech impediments to have a conversation with a remote phone number without human assistance. In one aspect, an application residing on a user's device, such as a smartphone, tablet computer, laptop, etc., may be used to initiate a phone call to a recipient. Upon initiating the phone call locally, a service residing on the server may receive a request to initiate a connection to the recipient. Once the recipient answers, the user may converse with the recipient by providing text input to their local app. The text input may be transmitted to the service. The service may use a text to speech converter to translate the received text to speech that can be delivered to the recipient.
Communication device
A communication device includes: a signal generator configured to generate a first signal and supply the first signal to a telephone line; a terminator having a variable terminal impedance as seen from the telephone line; a detector configured to detect a difference between the terminal impedance and a line impedance of the telephone line; and a controller configured to determine the terminal impedance so that the difference is reduced.
Method and system for providing captioned telephone service with automated speech recognition
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods for providing captioned telephone service. One method includes initiating a first captioned telephone service call. During the first captioned telephone service call, a first set of captions is created using a human captioner. Simultaneous with creating the first set of captions using a human captioner, a second set of captions is created using an automated speech recognition captioner. The first set of captions and the second set of captions are compared using a scoring algorithm. In response to the score of second set of captions being within predetermined range of scores, the call is continued using only the automated speech recognition captioner. In response to the score of second set of captions being outside of a predetermined range of scores, the call is continued using a human captioner.
Enhance at command for backoff timer control
AT commands are used for controlling Mobile Termination (MT) functions and GSM/UMTS network services from a Terminal Equipment (TE) through Terminal Adaptor (TA). 3GPP introduces multiple backoff timers and barring to solve network congestion problem. However, a TE does not know the timer value and the barring status. In accordance with one novel aspect, a new AT command interface that can respond timer value and barring status to the TE is proposed. It reduces wasteful retries and saves power consumption of the TE. Through the new AT command interface, the TE can query backoff timer status. Via unsolicited result code (URC), the MT can detect backoff timer status change and report updated backoff timer status to the TE.
TELEPHONE SIGNAL PROCESSING
A method of processing a telephone signal comprising voice signals and data signals, the method comprising detecting the presence of an artefact in the telephone signal indicative of the presence of a data signal fragment associated with an earlier attenuation of a data signal and processing the telephone signal by further attenuating the telephone signal in the region of the artefact in order to remove the data signal fragment from the telephone signal.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ESTABLISHING AN ENCRYPTED-AUDIO SESSION
A personal mobile device receives a session-request message requesting establishment an encrypted-audio session with a call-initiating device. In response, one or more call-response inquiries are presented via a user interface of the mobile device. The one or more call-response inquiries include an accessory-status inquiry with respect to an accessory to the mobile device. The mobile device receives, via the user interface, an accessory-unready indication with respect to the accessory, which is associated with the presented accessory-status inquiry. In response to receiving the accessory-unready indication, the mobile device establishes a communication link with the call-initiating device and refrains from exchanging audio data with the call-initiating device via the established communication link. The mobile device makes an accessory-ready determination and responsively establishes the encrypted-audio session at least in part by receiving encrypted-audio data from the accessory and forwarding, via the established communication link, the encrypted-audio data to the call-initiating device.
Shareable applications on telecommunications devices
During voice communication between multiple telecommunications devices, a shareable application facilitates concurrent sharing of data and processes between the devices. The application may be configured to monitor the voice communication and execute a predetermined function upon detecting a predetermined condition in the voice communication. The application may further facilitate sharing of functionality and user interface displays during the voice communication. In some implementations, a server computing device on a communications network may facilitate functions of shareable applications on one or more telecommunications devices.
System and method for proximity based generation of custom user interfaces
A system and method for document processing includes a controller configured for digital control of multifunction peripheral operations. The controller detects a portable data device and receives configuration data through a near field communication interface. The controller selectively enables of document processing operations of the MFP as specified by received configuration data. The controller generates an active display on a touch screen control panel in accordance with the received configuration data and receives user selection data via the active display on the touch screen control panel. The controller commences a document processing operation in accordance with received user selection data.
PHASE COMPENSATION REFERENCE SIGNAL IN NR-SS COMP
Phase compensation in a new radio (NR) shared spectrum (NR-SS) coordinated multipoint (CoMP) environment is discussed. A base station may synchronize the phase between one or more additional base stations in a coordinated multipoint (CoMP) group serving one or more user equipments (UEs). This first synchronizing is performed prior to a current transmission opportunity between the CoMP group and the UEs. During transmission, a UE will sent a phase compensation reference signal (PCRS) to help with adjusting a phase drift that exceeds a predetermined threshold. The PCRS may be triggered by a signal from the base station or may be sent routinely by the UE. The UEs will transmit PCRS after each subframe, which the base stations use to adjust the phase.
