The present disclosure describes a system, method, and computer-readable medium for providing audio announcement of communications to a called party in a communication network. The method includes receiving communication from a calling party and performing a lookup of information relating to the calling party in a database via an Internet Protocol connection based on an identifier of at least one of the calling party and the called party. The information comprises one or more audio files. The method then provides the audio announcement to a called party based on the audio files.

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for call classification and for training a model for call classification, an example method comprising: receiving DTMF information from a plurality of calls; determining, for each of the calls, a feature vector including statistics based on DTMF information such as DTMF residual signal comprising channel noise and additive noise; training a model for classification; comparing a new call feature vector to the model; predicting a device type and geographic location based on the comparison of the new call feature vector to the model; classifying the call as spoofed or genuine; and authenticating a call or altering an IVR call flow.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, identifying a first user associated with a first mobile device, and determining a first user type associated with the first user. Further embodiments can include identifying a first identity associated with the first user based on the first user type and identifying a second identity associated with the first user based on the first user type. Additional embodiments can include providing first alternate content to the first mobile device to mask the first identity and providing second alternate content to the first mobile device associated with the second identity. Outgoing communications from a user device are monitored following a notification that an application is installed on a user device. When a number of the outgoing communications to a premium-rate number during a predetermined period of time exceeds a corresponding quantity threshold, the pattern of the outgoing communications may be ascertained to be anomalous. A user device is directed to present a prompt that requests an input as to whether the outgoing communications are authorized. In response to a first input that the outgoing communications are unauthorized, additional outgoing communications from the user device to the premium-rate number are blocked for a predesignated amount of time. Further, the first input is stored as a corresponding vote that the application is malicious. In response to a second input that the outgoing communications are authorized, the second input is stored as a corresponding vote that the application is non-malicious.

A system and method for incoming and outgoing electronic messages with inmates includes a database including user records having user profiles and inmate profiles, and action event records. The system and method are programmed to associate at least one inmate account number with a specific SIM card or phone number, detect the triggering event, trigger the action event to be performed based on the triggering event, perform the action event data based on the action event. The action event data includes determining whether the user profile is a current user or a new user, receiving at least one inmate account number associated with the message, processing the message according to predetermined criteria, upon determining that the user profile is a current user pairing the message with the at least one inmate account number, and sending the message to the at least one inmate account number.

A system and method for incoming and outgoing electronic messages with inmates includes a database including user records having user profiles and inmate profiles, and action event records. A computer-implemented network verification system includes a second device situated in a terminating call network and configured to receive a call signal from a first device situated in an originating network. The first device is coupled to a first registry that stores originating call records. The first registry is configured to obtain, from the first device, and store call data and a SIP identity header associated with the call signal. The system also includes a second registry coupled to the second device and configured to receive, from the first registry over an out-of-band verification network, a first verification request that contains the originating call record, including the SIP identity header associated with the call signal. The second registry is further configured to send the SIP identity header contained in the first verification request to the second device.

A system for providing additional information to called parties, the system comprises a base unit device for sending additional information to called parties, the base unit comprises a microprocessor, at least one Ethernet port, at least one telephone port, a first transceiver, and a first wireless antenna; and a display unit for receiving the additional information from the base unit device and displaying the additional information to the called parties, the display unit comprises a second transceiver, a liquid crystal display, a second wireless antenna, and a set of keys.

A process and apparatus to facilitate communication between callers and callees in a system comprising a plurality of nodes with which callers and callees are associated is disclosed. In response to initiation of a call by a calling subscriber, a caller identifier and a callee identifier are received. Call classification criteria associated with the caller identifier are used to classify the call as a public network call or a private network call. A routing message identifying an address, on the private network, associated with the callee is produced when the call is classified as a private network call and a routing message identifying a gateway to the public network is produced when the call is classified as a public network call.
