The method includes: obtaining, by a terminal device, travelling schedule information; sending the travelling schedule information to an access platform server; receiving information about multiple traffic packages that is sent by the access platform server, where each of the N travelling schedule nodes is corresponding to information about at least one traffic package in the information about the multiple traffic packages, and the information about the multiple traffic packages is provided by an operator; determining, from the multiple traffic packages, a target traffic package to be used by the terminal device in each of the N travelling schedule nodes; sending a traffic package subscription message to the access platform server, where the traffic package subscription message includes an identity of the determined target traffic package and identity information of the terminal; obtaining N profiles; and installing the N profiles.

An intelligent gateway device provided at a premise (home or business) for providing and managing application services associated with use and support of a plurality of digital endpoint devices associated with the premises. The device includes a communications and processing infrastructure integrated with a peer and presence messaging based communications protocol for enabling communications between the device and an external support network and between the device and connected digital endpoint devices. Device-enabled embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) profile acquisition is described. Server(s) associated with a service provider can receive, from an application of a device operated by a user, identification data including at least an identifier corresponding to an eSIM associated with the device. The server(s) can store an association between a profile and the identifier in a database. The server(s) can receive, from the device, a request for the profile, which can include the identifier. The server(s) can access the database to identify, based at least in part on the identifier, the association between the profile and the identifier and provision, to the device, the profile to cause the profile to be associated with the eSIM associated with the device.

Systems and methods receive first traffic originating from a mobile device and second traffic originating from second devices tethered to the mobile device; tag the first traffic to indicate that the traffic originates from the mobile device; tag the second traffic to indicate that the traffic originates from the second devices; receive subscriber data that includes a first threshold and a second threshold, wherein the first threshold is associated with the first traffic originating from the mobile device and the second threshold is associated with the second traffic originating from the second devices tethered to the mobile device; determine that an amount of the second traffic exceeds the second threshold; rate limit the second traffic without rate limiting the first traffic when the amount of the second traffic exceeds the second threshold and an amount of the first traffic does not exceed the first threshold.

A user device described herein suggests a change to a quality setting associated with the consumption of content from one or more content providers. The change is suggested based both on a user's data plan and on a service quality of content received by the user device. This user-selected quality setting is then provided to the telecommunication network, which reduces network resources available for transmission of the content based on the quality setting. Such reduced network resources cause the content providers to provide content at a service quality no greater than the quality setting. Also, the user may be presented with or defaulted to selecting an option for a program offering consumption of the video content free of charge when provided to the user at a limited service quality. When the user participates, consumption of video content is then conditionally excluded from a consumption metric of the data plan.
