SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING AND ASSOCIATING TARIFF RATES FOR INSTITUTIONAL CALLS
A telecommunications method for call forwarding including storing information regarding a called party in at least one local database, where the information regarding the called party is stored in a user account and making a telephone call by dialing a telephone number with a telephone, where the telephone is contained in a telephone management system. The method also includes determining whether the telephone number is associated with the user account and transferring, via the switchboard, the call to the called party if the telephone number is associated with the user account, where the telephone management system is in communication with a revenue management system, and also where the revenue management system contains at least one local database.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR OVER-THE-AIR ACTIVATION OF NEIGHBORHOOD CORDLESS-TYPE SERVICES
A method for providing local cordless service comprises the steps of receiving subscriber neighborhood zone selection input so that a mobile telephone equipped subscriber may place or receive calls for a fixed rate, for example, per month without having to pay radio frequency air time charges any time they are located within their selected subscribed-to zones. If the subscribed-to zones are adjacent to one another and the mobile subscriber roans from one zone to another, the subscriber may continue their fee call uninterrupted and without paying air time charges. However, when the subscriber mans outside their subscribed-to zones they may be switched from the present local cordless services t conventional personal communications services and pay air time charges. However for an active call. No air-time charges are incurred as the user transitions between the cellular/DPCS environment and the local cordless service environment.
Automated bulk provisioning of primary rate interface and SIP trunk telephone numbers
A broadband provisioning system configured for bulk provisioning of communications services is provided. The system includes an order manager that includes machine executable instructions stored on machine readable media, the instructions for: receiving a request to provision a plurality of telephone numbers with communications services; creating details for the request and setting an initial state for the request; and upon commencement of processing of the request, updating the state of the request to indicate ongoing processing, provisioning each telephone number in the request by associating resources therewith, and updating a status for each telephone number provisioned; and upon completion of processing, changing the state of the request to indicate completion.
System, method, and computer program for device management
A system, method, and computer program product are provided for device management. In use, a first profile associated with a first device is identified. A second profile for a second device is then identified, based on the identification of the first profile associated with the first device. To this end, the second profile is communicated to the second device, for use in connection with management of the second device.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR BUNDLING MULTIPLE SERVICES THROUGH A MOBILE PLATFORM
A telecommunications service provider agrees to a pre-paid plan including phone, text and data services, which it provides to a user through her mobile device. The provider's computer system then sends a notification to the user's mobile device that refers to benefits and contains a launch prompt. When the launch prompt is selected by the user, an application program is automatically launched in the mobile device, or a browser in the mobile device is automatically navigated to a website, which prompts the user to identify herself using minimum personal information (e.g., first and last name, date of birth and postal code.) In response, the mobile device is then signaled by the computer system of the telecommunications service provider to display to the user an offer of i) a pre-bundled group of, or ii) an individually selectable variety of, products or services (the benefits.) Other embodiments are also described.

Systems and methods for telephone number provisioning and telephony management
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for telephone number provisioning. A user interface configured to provide access to telephony information may be facilitated. The telephony information may be retained in a telephony information repository. Information about a first location may be processed. A region of interest may be determined. A set of telephony information may be processed based on the region of interest. Telephone number inventory corresponding to the region of interest may be determined based in part on the set of telephony information. Telephone number inventory may be categorized according to availability to determine a first set of telephone numbers. Local calling characteristics may be determined. Indication to the user interface of availability of telephone numbers within the region of interest based on the first set of telephone numbers and the local calling characteristics may be caused. The user interface may present graphical indicia that distinguishes the local calling characteristics.
Reliable activation of mobile devices
A system and method are provided for reliable activation and attachment of mobile devices. An activation server receives, from a client device, a subscription request for accessing a network, wherein the subscription request includes a first identifier of the client device. The activation server determines, based on the first identifier, whether a pending subscription account exists or a new subscription account is to be created. Upon determining that the pending subscription account exists or the new subscription account is to be created, the activation server releases the pending subscription account or creates the new subscription account, and instructs the client device to remove a second identifier from the client device and to use the first identifier for attaching to the network.
Systems and methods for verification of identity and location
Techniques for verifying identity and/or location of a customer. One embodiment involves receiving a customer-provided address from a customer in a communication via a computer network or telephone network. The customer is a person or entity paying to receive calls from a resident of a controlled access residential institution. The embodiment further involves accessing a computer system to identify location information associated with the customer, the location information derived from additional information within or about the communication and determining a reliability estimate of the customer-provided address by comparing the customer-provided address with the location information associated with the customer that was identified based on the additional information. The embodiment may involve notifying a telecommunications provider, the controlled access residential institution, or law enforcement based on the reliability estimate of the customer-provided address.
GLOBAL PLATFORM FOR MANAGING SUBSCRIBER IDENTITY MODULES
Disclosed is method comprising: storing in a home location register (HLR) at least one subscription record of a mobile device of the plurality of mobile devices, the mobile device having a subscriber identity module (SIM) identified by a currently activated first international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI), the currently activated first IMSI belonging to a set of IMSIs allocated to the system, wherein the provisioning server is operative to: receive a notification that the mobile devices has moved into a first one of the wireless networks; confirm that an allocation rule is satisfied; add and activate a second one of the IMSIs in the set of IMSIs to the HLR and remove the currently activated first IMSI from the HLR; and send the second IMSI to the mobile device to enable the mobile device to communicate wirelessly in the first wireless network as a local device.
