Data-Plan-Based Quality Setting Suggestions and Use Thereof to Manage Content Provider Services
A user device described herein suggests a change to a quality setting associated with the consumption of content from one or more content providers. The change is suggested based both on a user's data plan and on a service quality of content received by the user device. This user-selected quality setting is then provided to the telecommunication network, which reduces network resources available for transmission of the content based on the quality setting. Such reduced network resources cause the content providers to provide content at a service quality no greater than the quality setting. Also, the user may be presented with or defaulted to selecting an option for a program offering consumption of the video content free of charge when provided to the user at a limited service quality. When the user participates, consumption of video content is then conditionally excluded from a consumption metric of the data plan.
Service Design Center for Device Assisted Services
A technique involves modular storage of network service plan components and provisioning of same. A subset of the capabilities of a service design system can be granted to a sandbox system to enable customization of service plan offerings or other controls
TOLL-FREE TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND DATA MANAGEMENT PLATFORM
A Toll-Free Management Platform (TFMP) includes methods and systems for number administration, customer administration, call management services, texting services and text registry, and a smart services registry. The TFMP may allow users to receive through a web-based interface, an activate request from a user, wherein the request includes at least a customer record template reference and an indication of when to active a toll-free telecommunications number associated with the request. The request may include at least one IP address datum associated with the toll-free telecommunications number. A user interface may allow activating a toll-free number, and users may access the TFMP to create and access existing templates of toll-free call routing templates, and utilize a routing tree engine to create customized call routing trees for the toll-free numbers of interest to the user.
TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICE SUBSCRIPTION INTEGRATION SYSTEM
This disclosure describes a Telecommunications Service Subscription Integration (TSSI) system that generates an integrated service subscription for a client device operating on a telecommunications network. The integrated service subscription may aggregate service features from multiple service subscriptions, and prioritize application of one service subscription within the integrated service subscription over another, or one service feature within the integrated service subscription over another. The TSSI system may also determine whether client eligibility for a service subscription is current or has lapsed. In doing so, the integrated service subscription may be adjusted to remove ineligible service subscriptions and re-prioritize remaining service features. The TSSI system may monitor usage of an integrated service subscription and recommend additional, or alternative, service subscriptions. The TSSI system may parse through client usage data to determine a suitability score for individual service features, and in doing so, recommend an additional, or alternative, service subscription based on suitability scores.
Global local number
A system and method provides communication between subscribers of a telephone network and the subscribers of an OTT provider website wherein each of the subscribers of the OTT provider website is assigned a telephone number in a block which is not assigned to any particular country. The system includes terminating a call (e.g., having voice, video, data, and/or messaging) from the telephone network directed to a number in the block, and passing the terminated call to a nearby entry point to the OTT provider website, the OTT website being configured to associate the incoming call with the user's account to which the called number has been assigned. Calls can be placed in the opposite direction, in which case the assigned number is passed into the telephone system as the calling party's number.

MANAGEMENT OF TOLL-FREE NUMBER MISUSE AND FRAUD DETECTION
Methods and systems for providing a rating system that allow for customers to create a database of toll-free numbers that are abused by malicious consumers which may be cloud-based and allow for service providers to dip prior to completing or accepting calls.
OPERATING SYSTEM SUPPORTING COST AWARE APPLICATIONS
A mobile computing device that supports cost-aware application components for operation over a metered network. A current basis for computing usage charges over one or more networks may be made available to the cost-aware application components through an application programming interface supported by an operating system service. That service may receive a policy for charging for data usage over a network and may also obtain information defining data usage for the mobile computing device. Based on this information, the service may determine a current basis for charging for data usage. With this information, the application component can determine a manner for executing network operations that involve data transmission over the network, such as deferring the operation or selecting an alternative network.
Wireless data transfer
Techniques for setting up wireless data transfer are described. In one embodiment, for example, an apparatus may be configured to monitor network traffic. A context or origin of the network traffic may be determined. Control options for setting up a wireless data transfer may be determined and presented to a user. Based upon user input, a control option may be selected. Routing network traffic may be performed based upon the selected control option. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Service design center for device assisted services
A network service plan provisioning system processes multiple service plan components, where the components are allowed to have respective traffic classification filters that, due to an overlap in classification, can each match the same network traffic event. A user can include multiple such components in the same service plan by creating a prioritization. The provisioning system processes and deploys the components to one or more network devices via an instruction set such that all such components are active for the service plan but the prioritization determines which component is activated when multiple component filters match a network traffic event.
