Interface for access management of femto cell coverage
Access to femto cell service is managed through access control list(s), or white list(s). Such white list(s) can be configured via a networked interface which facilitates access management to a femto cell. White list(s) includes a set of subscriber station(s) identifier numbers, codes or tokens, and can also include additional fields for femto cell access management based on desired complexity. Various interfaces and user profiles are associated with granting different levels of access to requesting UEs.
USAGE-BASED BANDWIDTH OPTIMIZATION
Systems, graphical user interfaces, and methods are provided to optimize bandwidth usage associated with a local network. As part of the bandwidth optimization techniques, a network regulation entity may maintain a plurality of usage statistics for a plurality of electronic devices. These usage statistics may be presented by an electronic device as part of a usage summary interface. In addition to displaying the usage statistics, the usage summary interface may enable a user to modify how the network regulation entity regulates traffic. Accordingly, the network regulation entity may update an access profile in accordance with the modification. Subsequently, the traffic received from the electronic device is processed based on the user-indicated modification. Thus, compliance with network neutrality principles may be maintained.
ROUTING OF DIAMETER PROTOCOL MESSAGES BASED ON A SUBSCRIBER POLICY
A device may determine a subscriber identifier associated with a subscriber device. The device may obtain a service indicator based on the subscriber identifier. The service indicator may identify a network service to which a subscriber, associated with the subscriber identifier, is subscribed. The device may obtain a charging data function (CDF) identifier based on the service indicator. The CDF identifier may identify a destination CDF for charging messages associated with the network service. The device may establish a communication session associated with the subscriber device and the network service. The device may transmit one or more charging messages, associated with the communication session, to the destination CDF identified by the CDF identifier.
System and method for online charging in a communication network
This disclosure relates generally to communication network, and more particularly to a system and method for online charging in a communication network. In one embodiment, a method is provided for online charging in a communication network. The method comprises monitoring at least one of a user characteristic, a session characteristic, an event characteristic, and a network condition during one or more ongoing communication sessions involving an online charging via one or more initial charging trigger functions, determining a need for selection of one or more new charging trigger functions based on at least one of the user characteristic, the session characteristic, the event characteristic, and the network condition, and dynamically selecting the one or more new charging trigger functions in response to the need so as to perform online charging for the one or more ongoing communication sessions based on substantially accurate determination of resource consumption in real-time.
MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND COMMUNICATION METHOD
A mobile communication system which can transfer information on the number of packets counted up until then by a base station of a mobile source, to a base station of a mobile target, even when a terminal performs a handover. UE moves to a Target eNode B, but a Source eNode B decides to perform a handover, and the Source eNode B includes information on the number of packets counted up until then in a Handover Request message to the Target eNode B, so as to notify the Target eNode B. After receiving a Handover Confirm message from the UE, the Target eNode B includes information on the number of packets received from the Source eNode B in a Handover Complete message transmitted to a CN Node, so as to notify the CN Node.
NETWORK STREAM PROCESSING TO ENSURING A GUARANTEE THAT EACH RECORD IS ACCOUNTED FOR EXACTLY ONCE
A method, computer-readable medium, and device for processing a stream of records with a guarantee that each record is accounted for exactly once are disclosed. A method may receive, via a first operator, a data stream having a plurality of records, the plurality of records provided by a plurality of first data sources; allocate the data stream to a plurality of shards of the first operator; process the plurality of records by each shard of the plurality of shards to generate a first output stream, where each shard being implemented with at least two replicas; and output the first output stream to a third operator or a subscriber.
Method and systems for identifying faulty communication calls
This disclosure relates generally to call monitoring techniques, and more particularly to method and system for identifying faulty communication calls. In one embodiment, a method comprises generating communication call record information for a communication call upon determining release of the communication call on a signaling plane. The method further comprises receiving a notification that media plane resources are still active after release of the communication call on the signaling plane. The method further comprises requesting for and receiving media activity of the communication call on the media plane in response to active media plane resources. The method further comprises identifying the faulty communication call based on the communication call record information and the media activity of the communication call.
Systems and methods for avoiding double accounting upon session failover
Systems, methods, and software that perform offline charging. One embodiment comprises a Charging Data Function (CDF) of an Offline Charging System (OFCS). The CDF receives accounting requests for a session from a Charging Trigger Function (CTF), and generates an incomplete Charging Data Record (CDR) for the session based on the accounting requests. The CDF identifies request identifiers (ID) assigned to the accounting requests used to generate the first incomplete CDR, and inserts the request IDs in the incomplete CDR. The CDF determines whether one or more of the accounting requests used to generate the incomplete CDR were indicated as a re-transmitted accounting request by the CTF, and inserts content information for the re-transmitted accounting request(s) in the incomplete CDR.
APPLICATION SPECIFIC M2M BILLING RECONCILIATION
The present invention is directed toward networks and more particularly to a method and system for providing information related to reconciliation billing in such networks. In one more embodiments, the computer implemented method for identifying discrepancies in billable events includes receiving application usage information regarding the one or more billable activities for one or more devices from an application provider core by a billing and analytic system; receiving cloud service usage information regarding the one or more billable activities for the one or more devices from a cloud operator providing cloud services by a billing and analytic system; comparing the received application usage information and the received cloud service usage information for one or more discrepancies in relation to one or more billable activities by a reconciliation engine; and reporting one or more identified discrepancies in accordance with the one or more billable activities.
Location-based services in a femtocell network
Traffic and signaling are routed between a set of networked femto access points (APs) and location-based services are enabled. A femto AP in the set of femto APs is functionally linked to a routing platform that manages traffic and signaling, and is functionally connected to a controller component that relays at least part of data and control to a femto network platform. The femto network platform allows access to one or more external networks. Routing platform can exchange signaling with one or more femto APs to enable, at least in part, location-based services based at least in part on identifier(s) for a femto AP, access privileges, or time-of-flight measurements that assess propagation timing between a mobile device and a femto AP. Routing platform can supply timing configuration to enable predetermined spatial resolution of location estimates. Location estimates can be recorded and conveyed to a consumer layer.
